Chapter 218 The Face is Disfigured

In Sandra's mind, it was Aurora's pretty face that had John under a spell. If Aurora's face got messed up, John would definitely lose interest in her.

From where John and Aurora were found knocked out, it was obvious that John had pushed Aurora into the safe zone to protect her at the last moment. Basically, John cared more about Aurora's life than his own.

This fact made Sandra's jealousy burn even hotter, and she wasn't about to miss this chance to teach Aurora a lesson.

Sandra pressed the knife's tip against Aurora's face. One hard slash, and that pretty face would be ruined. The thought sent a thrill of excitement through Sandra.

But just as Sandra was about to make her move, Aurora's eyes snapped open, startling Sandra.

Seeing Sandra in front of her, Aurora instinctively grabbed Sandra's hand, trying to snatch the knife away.

Sandra snapped out of it and tightened her grip on the knife, determined to hurt Aurora. During their struggle, a sudden scream pierced the air. "My face!"

The knife had cut Sandra's face, and blood was pouring out. She covered her face and stumbled back, screaming.

Right then, Alexander, Richard, and Jennifer rushed over. They saw Aurora holding a knife, her gaze sharper than the blade itself, while Sandra was clutching her bleeding face. John lay on the ground, still unconscious.

"Aurora, you're nuts! I was trying to save John, and you cut me! My face, you ruined my face!" Sandra was almost in tears, on the verge of breaking down.

For a woman, her looks were more important than anything.

Aurora, worried about John's safety, had already passed pass out, but a voice in her head urged her to wake up. She fought to regain consciousness.

Aurora looked around and, seeing John on the ground, threw the knife. It flew past Sandra's face and stuck firmly in the wall behind her.

Terrified and furious, Sandra quickly stepped back, shouting, "Aurora, what are you doing?"

Aurora's expression was ice-cold. "Mess with me again, and I won't hold back." She rushed to John, her eyes full of worry. "John, can you hear me?"

John didn't respond. Jennifer also stepped forward, worried. "John, wake up, John."

"Richard, help me get him to the hospital," Aurora said to Richard. She couldn't lift John by herself.

"Okay." Richard quickly stepped forward and helped lift John.

"Aurora." Alexander looked at her, a storm of emotions in his eyes. After a long pause, all he could say was her name.

Aurora was in a terrible mood. Her face was pale, her lips purple from the cold, and with John hurt, her gaze at Alexander was even colder. "Mr. Johnson, what, do you really want me and John to die here?"

"No," Alexander quickly explained, afraid Aurora would misunderstand. The once arrogant Alexander was now cautious and humble in front of her. "Aurora, are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"I'm lucky to be standing here," Aurora said coldly. "If anything happens to John, I'll make sure to settle this score with you, Mr. Johnson."

Alexander met Aurora's resentful gaze, and for a moment, he thought he saw Wendy from years ago.

When Wendy left The Shadow of Darkness organization years ago, she had looked at him with the same gaze and said, "Move aside."

Right then, Aurora looked at Alexander standing in front of her and said the exact same words, "Move aside."

Same words, same tone.

Alexander was stunned but stepped aside.

Just like back then, he had stepped aside and let Wendy leave.

At that moment, Oren rushed over. "Mr. Johnson, Todd from Nightfall is here."

Before he even finished, Todd had already barged in. Seeing John being supported by Richard and Aurora, he anxiously said, "Mr. Lewis."

Aurora quickly said, "Take him to the hospital first."

"Got it." Todd hoisted John onto his back and headed out. Lori and Ava also rushed in, looking confused as everyone started moving.

Richard called out, "Lori, get the car."

Lori parked the car at the entrance of Alexander's place. They got John into the car. Sandra and Jennifer tried to follow, but Aurora coldly said, "Lori, stop them," and then she shut the car door.

Lori and Ava blocked Jennifer and Sandra from following.

John was rushed to a nearby hospital and taken straight to the operating room. Aurora also got a full-body checkup. Finding no issues, she finally breathed a sigh of relief. She could be hurt, but the babies couldn't be.

Even though there were no physical issues, the doctor still advised her to rest in bed. Aurora, worried about John, insisted on going to the operating room door in a wheelchair.

"Mommy." Summer arrived with Sam and Tyler.

"Mommy, are you okay? Are you hurt?" Summer was super anxious, and seeing Aurora in a wheelchair made him even more worried.

"I'm fine." Aurora touched Summer's face. Looking at her son, her panicked heart calmed down a bit.

Summer asked, "Where's Mr. Lewis?"

"He's still inside." Todd said, then looked at Richard. "Mr. Lee, why did Alexander suddenly let Mr. Lewis and Ms. White go?"

Todd had been curious the whole way. When they left, Alexander didn't stop them.

Lori and Ava were also curious and looked at Richard.

Richard glanced at Aurora, who was focused on the operating room, then half-jokingly said, "After a night of negotiations, Alexander finally let Aurora go."

Lori frowned. "Richard, did you promise him anything?"

Richard rolled his eyes at Lori and said proudly, "No, Alexander is scared of us, so he let them go. I told you, as long as I step in, I'll definitely bring Aurora back."

Who would believe that?

Lori and Ava looked at each other and shook their heads, not buying it.

Lori then said, "Uncle Richard, your words have no credibility."

Ava nodded. "Wolfpack has no money anyway. Even if Mr. Lee wanted to pay compensation, it wouldn't be much."

Richard sighed and stopped talking. Due to his poor management, Wolfpack had fallen, and its power wasn't what it used to be.

Todd didn't believe it either, but since John and Aurora were back, everything else could be dealt with later.

The light in the operating room stayed on.

Meanwhile, Sandra also went to the hospital to treat the wound on her face. The nearly 3-inch-long cut was deep, and even if it healed, it would leave a scar.

The doctor shook his head and sighed, "What a pity, such a pretty face."

After the anesthesia wore off, Sandra looked at her face in the mirror and was so devastated that she threw the mirror. "It's all that bitch Aurora's fault. I have to kill her."

Hearing the commotion, Jennifer came in from outside, and seeing Sandra going crazy, she said, "You brought this on yourself. Who can you blame now?"

That knife was Sandra's. Anyone could see that Sandra tried to hurt Aurora but ended up getting her own face cut.
