Chapter 433 Aurora Trusts Jack

The hatred in Jack's eyes was so intense that it sent a shiver down Aurora's spine.

Jack had changed, becoming someone Aurora no longer recognized.

Twisting the truth, turning the tables—was this really the brother she had always cherished?

Jack's eyes were bloodshot as he continued, "John, you didn't see this coming, did you? I'm not dead; I came back alive. You wanted me gone, but I survived. I'm here to show everyone who you really are. You're selfish and narrow-minded. You sent Richard to prison, and that wasn't enough—you wanted to hurt me, too. Aurora, come over here. Be careful; he might hurt you."

"Are you done?" Aurora's expression was cold as she stared at Jack with disappointment. "How could you become like this? John would never harm you. If he wanted you dead, you wouldn't be standing here."

"Aurora, I lost an arm. Do you think I would lie about this?" Jack was agitated. "I'm your brother. You trust him over me? I'm the brother you loved the most. I'm only in my twenties. He crippled Chris's leg before; why couldn't he have taken my arm? He's a madman."

"The madman is you, Black Hawk." Aurora was furious and directly called out the name.

Dean might be unfamiliar with the name Black Hawk, but Wendy and Alexander were not.

They might ignore the underworld, but that didn't mean they were completely out of the loop.

They knew Black Hawk had merged Wolfpack into the Ironclad Union. Samuel knew too.

The three exchanged glances, unable to believe it.

Alexander asked, "Aurora, what did you just say? Black Hawk? Jack is Black Hawk?"

Wendy was also incredulous. "Aurora, how is that possible?"

Aurora stared at Jack coldly. "Is it true? You should ask him."

Facing everyone's skeptical looks, Jack vehemently denied it. "How could I be Black Hawk? Aurora, you're delusional. I've never even seen Black Hawk. How could I be him? You can't let John deceive you anymore. Aurora, John won't spare me, and he won't spare Lori either. Lori might be the next one to suffer."

Jack was right; Lori was already in trouble.

Aurora and John exchanged a glance. It seemed Lori's predicament was indeed connected to Jack.

Aurora was about to say something when John subtly shook his head.

John stepped forward to clarify his stance. "Your arm was lost on my island, but it wasn't my doing. Whether you believe it or not, that's my position. If I wanted to harm you, it would be as easy as crushing an ant. And don't forget, your life was saved by me."

John had found a doctor and a suitable heart for Jack back then, something Wendy and the others didn't know.

Jack angrily retorted, "You saved me to please my sister. You didn't know I was Richard's son. Richard indirectly caused your mother's death by releasing Sandra. You hate Richard, so you hate me, too. You want to kill me. No matter what you say, I don't believe you. I only know you caused me to lose my left arm."

Each had their own version of events. Regardless, Jack's lost arm was a fact, and it happened on John's territory.

Wendy was more inclined to believe Jack.

Wendy stood protectively in front of Jack. "As long as I'm here, no one will touch Jack."

Alexander added, "If Jack could merge Wolfpack, I could be Superman. Do you really think the underworld is that easy to navigate?"

Dean, only half understanding, said, "Jack's just a kid who likes racing. How could he have such capabilities?"

Aurora knew no one would believe her. She had been reckless to bring it up openly.

With Lori missing and her husband misunderstood, Aurora had no patience left to explain further. She grabbed Jack's other arm. "Come with me. We'll talk in private."

Wendy and John wanted to follow, but Aurora stopped them. "None of you come."

Aurora dragged Jack upstairs into a room and shut the door.

Inside, it was just Aurora and Jack.

Aurora's gaze was icy as she stared at Jack. "What exactly do you want?"

"Aurora, how can you question me? Look at my left arm. I lost it. I'm a cripple now. I heard John's men say they wanted to kill me." Jack was still agitated, wishing he could cut off John's arm. "Do you think I would cut off my own arm to frame John?"

Aurora looked at Jack's empty left sleeve, feeling a pang in her heart.

One was her closest kin, the other her beloved.

Aurora felt like two voices were fighting in her head, arguing and struggling.

Who would cut off their own arm to frame someone?

How much hatred would it take to do that?

Aurora walked over and grabbed Jack's empty sleeve. At twenty-something, he was just starting his life, but now he was disabled.

Aurora's eyes welled up, and Jack's face was also tear-streaked. He stubbornly wiped away his tears, his voice filled with pain. "Aurora, I lost my left arm."

Those simple words hit Aurora like a heavy hammer.

Jack's tears were like sharp weapons, making Aurora feel deeply guilty and heartbroken.

Jack said, "Aurora, I don't know what spell John cast on you to make you think I'm Black Hawk. I can't forgive him for my lost arm. As long as John is around, I won't be."

"Jack, calm down." Aurora hugged Jack, her eyes flashing with a strange light where he couldn't see.

Aurora's comfort slowly calmed Jack down. She had him sit and poured him a glass of water. "Jack, drink some water. I was too harsh earlier. Don't blame me. When the island incident happened, Ironclad Union people infiltrated the island and took you. John told me you might have been taken by the Ironclad Union. We dealt with those who came ashore but couldn't find you. We didn't dare tell the elders the truth, so we lied that you were traveling while secretly searching for you."

Aurora's words were half true.

Jack lowered his head. "Aurora, I'm not lying. I led the Ironclad Union people to the island. I stole the island's map, but they forced me. They threatened me. I had no choice. I thought John was strong enough to handle it, but I didn't expect him to want me dead."

Jack admitted to stealing the map, which surprised Aurora.

She couldn't understand Jack at that moment.

Jack continued, "They injected me with a drug."

Aurora's expression changed.

"And now?"

"I'm fine," Jack said. "I lost my arm, but they thought I was dead and stopped looking for me. Aurora, I know you and John are deeply connected. You'll believe whatever he says. I don't expect you to believe me, but I won't let go of my grudge against him."
