Chapter 185 Aurora is Pregnant with Twins

John went to pick up Helen himself. Even though he usually acted all cool and distant, he had a soft spot for his mom. He just sucked at showing it.

Aurora and Jennifer were chilling at the Meadow Brook villa. Aurora barely touched her food, so Dean ended up finishing it.

Out of nowhere, Aurora felt super anxious and uneasy.

Dean was deep in conversation with Todd, so Aurora stepped outside for some air.

"It's great that Auntie Helen woke up. Why do you look so down?" Jennifer asked as she walked up to Aurora. "I heard she got hurt because of you, by your sister."

Aurora shot back, "She's not my sister."

Emily was Percy's illegitimate kid, and Aurora didn't see her as family.

"Still, Auntie Helen got hurt because of you," Jennifer said. "John's really close to his mom. She almost ended up in a coma because of you, but John didn't blame you. He must really care about you. As for me and him, that's ancient history."

Aurora paused. Was Jennifer speaking for John?

What was her deal?

Shouldn't Jennifer want them to break up? Why was she praising him?

"Yeah, John is really good to me," Aurora said with a smile. "Now that his mom's awake, you will be at our wedding soon."

Jennifer gave a faint smile. "Congrats."

"Thanks," Aurora grinned. "Oh, I almost forgot. I promised to send you that website link. I'll send it later, but I'd advise you to watch less of it; it's bad for your health."

Aurora hadn't forgotten about Jennifer calling her and playing that kind of video.

Jennifer smiled, looking confused. "Ms. White, I have no idea what you're talking about."

"You'll get it once you see it, Ms. Johnson."

"Alright, I'll make sure to enjoy it later."

They were both talking in circles, and after a few rounds, Aurora realized Jennifer was pretty good at acting, way better than Jane.

Staying at the Meadow Brook villa, Jennifer had a different status from Jane.

Time passed.

John still hadn't come back. Aurora wanted to wait but almost fell asleep on the sofa.

"Ms. White, why don't you go to your room and rest?" Todd suggested. "I'll call you when the boss returns. He might not come back tonight."

Dean had already gone to bed.

Aurora checked the time; it was already midnight.

"Alright." She didn't see Jennifer around and casually asked, "Where's Ms. Johnson?"

"She went out earlier," Todd said. "I heard Sandra calling Jennifer. Maybe they went out to hang out."

"Mr. Smith, how did Ms. Johnson and John meet? Did they really have a past?"

Todd hesitated. "Ms. White, you should ask the boss when he returns. I don't know much about it."

Aurora pouted, "Boring. You Nightfall people are good at keeping secrets."

"We all follow the boss's lead," Todd laughed. "Ms. White, you can't put me in a tough spot."

"Alright, I won't ask anymore." Aurora got up from the sofa. "I'm going upstairs to sleep."

That night, John didn't come back. The next morning, she found out John had taken Helen to the hospital.

Jennifer hadn't returned either, so she must have gone to the hospital too.

Aurora didn't bother with Dean and let him go back to The White Family on his own while she headed to the hospital.

After calling John, she found out which room Helen was in and went straight there.

At the door, she heard Jennifer and Helen laughing.

They were chatting and laughing, and Helen held Jennifer's hand, saying, "Daughter-in-law, why have you lost so much weight? Don't go on a diet. You need to take care of yourself. I'm waiting to hold my grandchild."

Jennifer sweet-talked Helen, "Aunt Helen, I didn't lose weight on purpose. I was sick before. I'll gain it back soon."

Daughter-in-law?

What the heck?

How could Helen call Jennifer her daughter-in-law?

Aurora was about to step into the room when John grabbed her hand.

"Let's talk outside," John said, pulling Aurora into the hallway.

Aurora asked, "John, is Auntie Helen okay?"

John shook his head. "Her head injury was pretty bad. She's awake but has forgotten the past few years. You heard her just now; she thinks Jennifer is her daughter-in-law."

"That's wild." Aurora was shocked. "John, are you serious?"

John forced a smile. "I wish I was kidding. Last night, my mom insisted on seeing me just to tell me to marry Jennifer. She said my dad appeared in her dream, telling her I must marry Jennifer this year, or there'd be disaster. If I marry her, we'll have twins this year."

Aurora, feeling a bit helpless, said, "It's almost the end of the year. Even if she got pregnant now, you wouldn't have twins this year. Do you have illegitimate kids with her?"

John felt a bit embarrassed.

Aurora's focus was always so unique.

"I haven't even touched her," John said gently. "But you shouldn't go in now. I'm even avoiding my mom. Every time she sees me, she asks when I'm marrying Jennifer."

John was also troubled. On one side was his mother, who hadn't fully recovered, and on the other was the woman he loved, who was carrying his child.

Aurora looked at the hospital room and sighed in relief, "Anyway, it's good that Auntie Helen woke up. I had a bad feeling last night. I knew our wedding wouldn't go smoothly."

John smiled and held Aurora's hand. "It's all my fault. Don't worry, I'll handle this. Since we're at the hospital, how about I take you for a check-up?"

Aurora hadn't had a check-up since she got pregnant.

"Alright." Aurora rubbed her chest. "I've been feeling tightness in my chest and hard to breathe. A check-up would be good."

John took Aurora to the gynecology department. After registering, John brought her to do a check-up, including an ultrasound.

John stayed with her the whole time, nervously watching the monitor. "Doctor, is it a girl?"

The doctor glanced at John. "It's still too early to tell."

John said, "It must be a girl."

He was obsessed with having a daughter.

Aurora initially thought it was a girl too, probably because she already had two sons and hoped for a daughter.

The doctor said, "We can't tell if it's a girl yet, but it's definitely twins."

"Twins?" Aurora was delighted and couldn't help but stare at the monitor.

Unfortunately, she couldn't understand or see anything.

It was just a black blob.

The doctor said, "Yes, twins."

John was also excited. "They must be twin girls."

After the check-up, John supported Aurora so carefully that she was amused by his actions and a bit awkward.

Aurora said, "Be normal. Everyone's watching."

There were many pregnant women in the hallway, but not many had their husbands with them. John was the only one being so cautious.

"You're carrying two people now. You're a priority."

Aurora said, "I'm not a family heirloom."

"You're more precious than a family heirloom now."

Aurora was also happy. They were chatting and laughing when Jennifer, who was looking for John, ran into them.

Jennifer walked over and asked with a smile, "Ms. White, are you feeling unwell?"

"Yes, irregular periods. I'm here for a check-up." Aurora kept her pregnancy a secret, not wanting Jennifer to know.
