Chapter 383: Dignity Knows Nothing

Aurora knew about Jack's face blindness.

Lori complained, "He can't even remember a face, and just let Sandra's accomplice get away."

Jack hung his head in shame and didn't argue.

Todd asked, "Why would Sandra's accomplice send John to the lounge? Does Sandra want to burn John too?"

Todd's words made Aurora's heart skip a beat.

It wasn't impossible.

Lori snorted, "A deranged person like her, it wouldn't be surprising if she wanted to burn John too. Sandra is the type who, if she can't be happy, won't let others be happy either. Even in death, she wants to drag others down with her. I wonder if she knew Aurora had already escaped and it was a dummy that got burned, would she be so mad she'd come back to life?"

Thinking about it, Lori felt quite pleased and couldn't help but laugh.

Sandra wanted to burn Aurora, but Aurora survived, and Sandra ended up burning herself.

John walked into the hall, and everyone looked at him as he returned.

Lori excitedly asked first, "John, is Sandra dead?"

John had received a call from Allan on his way back, saying the fire was out and Sandra's body was charred.

"Yes," John nodded, walking towards Aurora. He habitually held her hands and frowned, "Why are your hands so cold?"

Aurora, still shaken, replied, "I almost got burned to death just now. You have to let me be scared for once."

John's lips curled slightly, "Alright, let's get you upstairs to rest."

With that, John left the crowd in the hall, half-embracing Aurora as they walked upstairs.

Lori couldn't help but speak up, "John, we're all still sitting here."

Todd added, "In John's eyes and heart, there's only Aurora. He probably didn't see us at all."

They chimed in together.

John spoke, "You can leave the way you came."

Everyone was speechless.

Not even an offer to stay for a meal to calm their nerves.

Todd stood up, "Let's go, everyone back to our homes."

Seeing Todd stand up, Lori quickly grabbed Ava, "Ava, didn't you say your new house still needs some things? Let's go buy them now, come on."

Ava said, "I'm not in a hurry."

"You are now."

Lori had an attitude of 'if I say you're in a hurry, then you're in a hurry.'

Lori dragged Ava away quickly, and Todd, with his hands behind his back adn a sly look in his eyes, "How long do you think you can hide?"

"I'm coming with you." Todd quickly caught up.

Gary, who had been unnoticed, took a sip of tea, stood up, and slowly walked out, summarizing, "Once I didn't know what love was, now I don't know what dignity is."

If Gary hadn't spoken, no one would have noticed he was still in the hall.

Dean, found the words profound and asked, "Mr. Collins, who are you talking about?"

Gary smiled and gave an unrelated answer, "Mr. White, how about I ride with you? Can you give me a lift?"

It was the first time someone had so politely called Dean 'Mr. White,' and he was delighted.

"Sure, Mr. Collins, where are you headed? We'll take you."

"Mercy Hospital."

"Alright, Jack, go get the car, we're taking Mr. Collins to Mercy Hospital."

Jack seemed distracted, and Dean had to call him twice more before Jack snapped out of it, "Okay, I'll get the car."

With that, everyone left.

John stood behind the upstairs curtain, watching Jack drive away last, then he opened the curtain.

"John, what are you sneaking around for?" Aurora was puzzled, "You left them all in the hall, and now you're spying on them. What's your deal? Are you hiding something about Sandra's death from me?"

"Wait a few more hours," John replied, "I had Sam look into who brought the gasoline in."

"This is important. The hotel is full of our people, yet Sandra still found a way. Do you think there's a mole in Nightfall?"

Aurora thought that since Wolfpack had a mole before, Nightfall might have one too.

John narrowed his eyes, "Let's wait and see."

After nightfall, Sam brought back the news.

"Mr. Lewis, I personally checked. All three cars had gasoline leaking in the trunk."
