Chapter 53 Summer Teaches John How to Flirt

Aurora returned to the office, but her mind was elsewhere.

It was fine when they didn't meet, but once they did, her mind was always wandering, with memories of their relationship flooding back from time to time.

Aurora shook her head, trying to stop thinking about John. Since they had broken up, she needed to be decisive.

Aurora went to the break room to get some water and saw a group of colleagues gossiping, who quickly pulled her into the conversation.

"Assistant White, do you know Sandra, the one who came from the subsidiary with you?"

"Not really, why?" Aurora was puzzled.

Since joining the headquarters, she hadn't even seen Sandra. If her colleagues hadn't mentioned it, Aurora would have forgotten that Sandra had come to the headquarters for training with her.

"I just saw Sandra taking the elevator with Mr. Smith. Since she's from your subsidiary, I thought you might know her background."

Sandra was here?

Aurora was quite curious.

Another colleague said enviously, "Sandra is so beautiful, with that figure, it's amazing. Even as a woman, I'm envious."

"I just looked at Sandra's waist, and I think I could wrap my hand around it. Among us, only Assistant White can compare."

Listening to the gossip, Aurora found herself unusually curious about someone for the first time.

'Who exactly is this Sandra?' she thought.

The break room was buzzing with conversation when a beautiful woman in a fuchsia dress walked in.

Aurora heard a colleague next to her say, "That's Sandra."

Beautiful.

Aurora couldn't help but take a few more glances. The other woman looked very young, probably just in her early twenties, with a face full of collagen.

"Hello, everyone." Sandra greeted everyone with a smile and went to get some water.

The colleague at the water dispenser moved aside.

Sandra smiled and said, "Thank you."

The colleague quickly replied, "You're welcome."

Sandra got her water and then looked at Aurora. "You must be the newly adopted daughter of the Robinson family, Aurora."

It wasn't a secret; almost everyone in the company knew Aurora was the Robinson family's adopted daughter.

Aurora responded gracefully, "Yes, I am."

"I'm Sandra. Nice to meet you. I was supposed to report with you on Monday, but I got sick and had to delay until today." Sandra smiled warmly and said, "I hope we can work well together."

Aurora smiled lightly. "I hope so, too."

Even though Sandra was very friendly, Aurora still felt uneasy around her.

After the encounter in the break room, Aurora returned to her desk to continue her work.

Without any disturbances from the White family, she enjoyed a few rare days of peace.

Today, she got off work a bit early. Aurora passed by a farmers' market, got out of the car, and went in to buy some groceries, including a chicken to make soup at home.

Although John said the car accident had nothing to do with her, she felt morally obligated to do something.

Aurora convinced herself this way, made the soup, and brought it to the office early the next morning, waiting outside Todd's office.

When Todd arrived, she handed him the thermos.

Todd looked puzzled and asked, "What's this?"

"Soup."

Todd was flattered. "Miss White, you're so kind to me, bringing me soup so early in the morning. I feel so embarrassed."

"It's not for you; it's for John," Aurora said, "Could you please take it to the hospital for me, Mr. Smith?"

"For my boss? Miss White, you should take it yourself. If my boss knew you made the soup yourself, he'd be so happy, and you two could reconcile."

"I didn't make it; I bought it outside," Aurora lied. "Don't misunderstand. I'm just showing concern as a friend, nothing more. Please help me out."

"Last night, Boss suddenly had a headache. The doctor said it might be a side effect," Todd lied without hesitation. "The doctor also said he might go blind. He has blood clots in his brain. Miss White, don't be fooled by his appearance; he's actually very injured inside."

Having been deceived once, Aurora wasn't going to believe Todd so easily again.

"We've broken up. Whatever happens to him has nothing to do with me."

Aurora felt she needed to be decisive.

"If you can't be lovers, you don't have to be strangers. After all, you had feelings for each other," Todd exaggerated. "Boss hasn't been eating or sleeping well since the breakup. You saw him yesterday; he's lost several pounds."

Aurora didn't respond.

She really hadn't noticed.

Todd said all this just to get Aurora to visit John again.

Todd sighed. "If Boss really goes blind or something happens to him, how will I live?"

Aurora looked at Todd strangely.

Realizing his mistake, Todd laughed awkwardly. "Slip of the tongue, slip of the tongue. The boss and I are just good friends, nothing more."

Aurora pursed her lips. "Give him the soup. I have to get back to work."

With that, Aurora returned to her desk.

Todd, holding the thermos, thought John's journey to win back his wife was going to be a long one.

Todd took the soup to John.

John glanced at it indifferently. "Take it away."

"This is from Miss White herself. She asked me to give it to you."

Whether it was true or not, Todd placed the thermos down. "I'll leave it here. Eat it if you want."

When John heard it was from Aurora, a strange light flickered in his eyes, but he still arrogantly refused to drink the soup.

Todd thought to himself, 'let's see how long you can hold out.'

"By the way, Boss, Wade is back."

John's expression remained calm. "I know."

Todd looked serious and said, "I'm afraid he's planning something big. I don't believe he came back just for Rex. If those two team up, it will be very troublesome."

"Sam and Tyler have been keeping an eye on them," John said, indicating he was prepared.

Todd then realized he hadn't seen Sam and Tyler around lately.

At that moment, Randy's voice came from the doorway.

"You're not that badly injured. Why aren't you discharged yet?"

At the door, Randy and Summer had come to visit John after hearing about his injury.

"Randy, what brings you here?" Todd smiled. "Boss wants to stay in the hospital a few more days to heal his broken heart."

"You got dumped?"

It was Summer who spoke, her tone full of disdain.

John's face darkened. "What do you know, kid?"

"So you did get dumped." Summer shook his head and sat on the couch, "You're just angry because you're embarrassed."

John had no retort.

Summer, looking experienced, said, "I've got the most experience with this. The girls on the island all like me. Flirting is easy. Want me to teach you a few tricks?"

John was speechless again.

Did he really need a kid to teach him how to date and chase women?

Todd secretly gave Summer a thumbs-up. Only Summer dared to challenge John.

John, with a cold face, said, "Randy, you should head back to the island today."
