Chapter 354: Without a Word, Straight to Action

Lori really teased each one of them, even patting the sofa and inviting, "Come on, babies, don't just stand there, sit down."

The word "babies" sent a shiver down Aurora's spine on the other end of the earpiece.

Even Sandra, watching through the surveillance, was shocked by this unexpected scene. This was completely out of character for Aurora, but the face on the screen was undeniably hers.

Sandra was utterly confused.

Lori, enjoying the men's service, had one massaging her legs while another worked on her back.

Sandra couldn't stand it anymore and was about to speak into the surveillance when Lori's gaze suddenly turned sharp, looking directly at the camera.

At that moment, when Lori looked up, Sandra met Lori's cold, piercing eyes and was momentarily stunned, forgetting to react.

Lori spoke first, mimicking Aurora's tone, "Hiding behind the surveillance like a rat in the dark, I despise you. Whatever tricks you have, bring them on. If my son loses even a single hair, I will break your neck. Don't believe me? Try it."

Having experienced for so many years, Lori was street-smart. As soon as she entered the bar, she scoped out the surroundings and naturally noticed the surveillance cameras above.

Sandra was infuriated, "Aurora, since you're here today, don't think you can leave unscathed. If you want to take your son back, drink the liquor on the bar and enjoy the beauties I've prepared for you."

Sandra's voice was extremely hoarse, it was unrecognizable. Neither Lori nor Aurora could tell it was Sandra's voice, but they guessed it was probably Sandra.

Regardless of who it was, the person had stolen Jax.

Lori saw the liquor on the bar and knew it was definitely spiked.

Aurora heard it through the earpiece and wanted to stop Lori but was afraid of being exposed.

Lori's earlier words hinted that there were surveillance cameras in the bar, meaning her actions were being watched. If Aurora spoke, she would be discovered.

Lori got up, walked to the bar, and picked up the prepared drink.

Using Aurora's tone, Lori negotiated, "I'll drink it, but I need to see my son first."

"Aurora, you have no right to bargain with me," Sandra snapped. "But I can let you hear your son's cries."

With that, the sound of a baby crying came through the surveillance.

Aurora heard it too. The child's voice was hoarse, clearly from crying too much.

Aurora's heart ached, and Lori glanced at the earpiece hidden in her clothes, then, with her back to the camera, whispered to Aurora, "Aurora, I'll drink it first. The person must be nearby. Keep an eye out."

Both Lori and Aurora knew the drink was likely spiked. To stall the other party, Lori had to drink it.

Aurora's voice came through the earpiece, "Are you sure you can handle it?"

"I should be able to hold on for a while." Lori replied, turning to face the camera, and drank it in one gulp.

Sandra watched her drink and smiled triumphantly, "Aurora, if you can hold on for an hour, I'll return your child."

"Keep your word. If you dare lie to me, I'll personally catch you and send you in." Lori warned.

The surveillance went silent. Lori, having drunk the liquor, started to feel its effects. She called to the men, "Babies, let's go to a room, find a spacious place, and have some fun."

The men followed Lori into a room, and soon, intense sounds came from inside.

Sandra listened to the sounds through the surveillance, her eyes filled with satisfaction. She felt an unprecedented sense of pleasure.

Sandra knew exactly how strong the drug in the liquor was. She had spent a fortune to ensure the eight men would serve well.

She wanted to see if John would still want Aurora, still treasure her, after she was defiled.

"Let's go to the dock and get the child," Sandra commanded, turning off the surveillance. "Also, take care of Helen."

"Got it."

Sandra looked out at the rain through the car window. She wouldn't spare anyone who had caused her pain.

In the Mercedes, Aurora listened to the sounds through the earpiece, worried, until Lori's voice came through again, "I'm fine, Aurora. Go find Trey."

Then, Aurora heard nothing more as Lori turned off the earpiece.

Aurora was anxious. She saw a car suddenly start in her rearview mirror.

As the car passed by hers, Aurora saw the person inside.

In the back seat was a woman with her face wrapped in bandages, only her nose and mouth exposed. Even so, Aurora recognized her immediately—it was Sandra.

When Aurora hate someone to the core, she can recognize them even if they turn to ashes.

Lori was right; Sandra was nearby. Neither Lori nor Aurora had expected Sandra to be so close, just 150 feet away.

There was no child in the car, but Sandra would definitely go to see the child.

Aurora immediately followed and called John, but no one answered.

Desperate to catch Sandra, Aurora threw her phone aside.

As the two cars left, Todd and Sam arrived from the other side.

After receiving John's call, Sam had immediately tracked Aurora's location, finally pinpointing it at the Virtual Bridge bar.

The car stopped, and Todd saw the bar door open, a scream echoing from inside. He rushed in.

Inside the bar room, Todd saw men sprawled on the floor, groaning in pain, while Lori, disguised as Aurora, was dousing herself with water.

"Lori, what are you doing here?" Todd asked.

Todd didn't know why, but he recognized Lori immediately, not mistaking her for Aurora.

The face was Aurora's, but the demeanor was completely different.

Lori was surprised, dropping the water jug and shaking the water from her head, "Todd, impressive. You recognized me even in disguise."

"I'd recognize you even if you turned into a ghost," Todd replied, walking in. "What's with these guys on the floor?"

Lori had no time to deal with the men she had knocked down. She was unbearably hot, and the water hadn't helped at all.

"Todd, you'd better leave now, or if I do something to you, don't blame me," Lori spoke, her face flushed.

Todd seemed to understand.

"Do you need..." Todd was about to suggest taking her to the hospital but, remembering past experiences, changed his mind, "I'll wait outside."

With that, Todd left.

Lori was stunned, cursing, "Coward."

Todd didn't go far, just to the bar's main hall. Sam came in, "Mr. Smith, is Mrs. Lewis here?"

"No, you go find Mrs. Helen Lewis first. I'll contact Mr. Lewis and follow up," Todd answered, thinking of Lori's condition and sending Sam away.

After Sam left, Todd sat on the bar's sofa. In the dim light, he appeared calm, but inside, he was in turmoil.

Todd's hands were clenched tightly. After about ten minutes, he got up, ready to enter the room, when Lori suddenly came out, her disguise removed.

Lori looked at him like a wolf sizing up its prey. Todd swallowed, "Lori, are you okay?"

Lori stared at Todd for a few seconds, then suddenly pinned him to the sofa. Without a word, she took action.
