Chapter 110 First Meeting with Summer

Before the personeven showed up, his voice came first.

Todd walked in with Summer, and everyone turned to look.

Helen and Lloyd exchanged glances upon seeing Summer.

"Doesn't you think this kid look a bit like John when he was young?" Helen blurted out, surprised. "John, is this your illegitimate son? Don't shock me; I can't handle it."

Realizing her mistake, Helen regretted it immediately. Aurora was there, and mentioning an illegitimate child was just embarrassing John.

But Summer did look a lot like young John, which made Helen speak without thinking. Helen wished she could take it back and glanced at Aurora's reaction.

Helen's words made the room tense. Wade also glanced at Summer, noticing the resemblance.

Aurora was confused by the "illegitimate child" comment.

John looked at Summer and said, "This is Summer, Todd's adopted godson."

Todd, caught off guard, quickly smiled and said, "Yep, this is my godson, Summer."

Todd was happy to play along, especially since Summer often teased him.

Summer shot Todd a displeased look.

With Wade there, John couldn't reveal Summer's true origins and had to go with Todd's story.

Todd put a hand on Summer's shoulder and smiled. "Summer, say hi to everyone. This is Great-Grandpa, this is Grandma Lewis, and this is..."

When he got to Aurora, Todd hesitated. Future mistress of the Lewis Family? Mrs. Lewis? Ms. White?

In the end, Summer stepped in, politely saying, "Hello, Aunt Aurora, Great-Grandpa, Grandma."

Sitting next to John, Aurora looked beautiful and kind, and Summer quickly guessed who she was.

John and Todd just smiled at Summer's cleverness.

Helen, relieved to hear Summer was Todd's godson, smiled. "This kid is adorable."

Todd found a seat and sat down. Summer looked around but didn't sit right away. His eyes landed on Aurora, feeling an unexpected closeness.

"Summer, what are you standing there for? Sit down and eat," Todd said, patting the chair next to him. "Sit next to me."

While Summer stared at Aurora, she was also looking at him. She felt a strange familiarity with him. Loren was a beautiful child, but Summer was even more striking.

Loren was chubby and rosy, like a little dumpling, with fair skin. Summer, with his tan from exercise, looked more energetic, especially his eyes, which had a bit of John's sharpness.

Summer snapped out of it and sat next to Todd.

It had been a while since the mansion was this lively. At the table, Helen enthusiastically served Aurora, and John took good care of her.

Summer was quiet, eating politely.

Todd kept chatting, "Summer, have a crab cake. Summer, eat some salmon. Summer..."

He took every chance to tease Summer.

Summer shot Todd a few warning looks, but Todd ignored them and said, "Summer, have some soup and eat the carrot. Kids shouldn't be picky."

Summer felt helpless. He hated carrots.

Todd was pleased, enjoying Summer's discomfort.

Summer glared at Todd, then pushed the carrots aside and kept eating.

Aurora noticed and remembered Loren also hated carrots. Kids just didn't like veggies.

Lloyd looked around the table, satisfied. "Seeing four generations together, I can die happy."

He was hinting at John to get married and have kids and also trying to ease the tension between John and Wade.

John and Wade exchanged glances. Wade smiled, "Grandpa, you'll live long. We might even see five generations."

He looked at John and teased, "John, we're all waiting for your and Ms. White's wedding."

John glanced at Aurora. "Aurora is my chosen partner, the future mistress of the Lewis Family. If I die, she'll lead the family."

Suddenly, John started coughing violently.

"Drink some water," Aurora said, patting his back and pouring water.

Helen asked, "John, are you okay?"

John caught his breath and waved. "Mom, Grandpa, I need to rest."

"It's okay. Go rest," Lloyd said, feeling sorry for his grandson.

John coughed again. "Aurora, help me to my room."

"Okay," Aurora said, helping him upstairs.

The Lewis Family's mansion had an elevator for John, taking him straight to the third floor.

Summer watched worriedly and asked Todd, "What's wrong with John?"

"His health is getting worse," Todd sighed, loud enough for Wade to hear. "But don't worry, I've found a skilled doctor. He should recover soon."

Lloyd asked, "Todd, have you really found a doctor for John?"

"Yes, Mr. Lloyd Lewis. I've been searching everywhere and found a famous one. He'll be here tomorrow."

Wade added, "Grandpa, John is seriously ill. We can't wait until tomorrow. I know a famous doctor in Silver Crest City. I'll call him."

Lloyd's eyes lit up. After a moment, he said, "Okay, let him come see John."

Summer and Todd exchanged a glance. Summer stood up, "Great Grandpa, Grandma, I want to check on John."

Helen was touched. "What a good child. Go ahead."

On the third floor, Aurora brought John into the room. He stopped coughing and tore off the scar mask on his face.

Aurora poked the mask. "This is too realistic."

John replied, "It's made of human skin."

"What?" Aurora dropped it, scared. Seeing John's amusement, she realized she was tricked and got angry. "John, how dare you tease me."

She rolled up her sleeves, pretending to hit him. John easily pulled her into his arms, rolling onto the bed with her.
