Chapter 253 Lori Pranks Todd
Lori and Ava found a seat and waited, while Joshua personally served two glasses of water.
Lori and Ava's looks made them always the center of attention wherever they went.
Beautiful and elegant, one in a tight red dress like a blazing sun, the other in white like a pure snow lotus.
They sitting there were particularly eye-catching.
It was late at night, and the food stall was in a somewhat remote area with a mixed crowd. The appearance of two beauties could stir up a lot of deep-seated desires in people.
Joshua occasionally glanced at them.
Lori crossed her legs, her long and shapely legs looking particularly attractive. She propped her chin with her hand and chatted with Ava, "That owner is staring at you, his eyes are about to pop out."
Ava said, "Isn't he looking at you?"
"An old man, fake gentleman, not my type." As Lori whispered, she waved enthusiastically at Joshua with a smile.
Seeing her actions, Ava felt a bit helpless and speechless. "You don't like him but still tease him?"
"Just bored, having some fun."
"You're leading people to do something bad."
"Nonsense." Lori said seriously, "I'm clearly doing a public service, eliminating douchebags one by one."
Yet Ava knew Lori's nature too well, so she silently prayed for the owner in her heart.
Lori was a seductress, always enticing men. She beckoned Joshua with her finger, making him restless. Feeling a rush of excitement, Joshua adjusted his glasses and walked over enthusiastically. "Ladies, is there anything else you need?"
"My water is finished. Might you pour me another glass?" Lori batted her eyelashes as she handed the empty cup to Joshua.
Lori's hands were delicate and slender, and Joshua, who had a fascination for hands, looked at Lori's hands as if he were bewitched. He couldn't help but reach out to take the cup with both hands, eager to seize the opportunity for a fleeting touch.
But Lori wasn't that easy to take advantage of.
She let go of her hands, and let the cup fall. Joshua hurried to catch it, while Lori subtly withdrew her hand with a seductive smile on her face. "Thank you, you're so kind."
"You're welcome." Joshua was almost dizzy from Lori's smile.
Avacalmly drank her water, like a moving iceberg. Getting close to Ava felt like being hit by a cold wave. On the contrary, Lori's enthusiasm was much more appealing.
Joshua shook the kettle, and said to Lori, "There's no water left. I'll go to the back to boil a new pot."
Lori smiled brightly, "Thank you."
Joshua then went to the back, and Ava said, "He's definitely going to drug the water."
"That's why I said he's a douchebag, can't resist even a little temptation."
Ava felt quite speechless. "Not everyone is like Todd, unmoved by beauty."
Besides, with Lori's appearance, who could resist?
"Don't mention that damn Todd. If he dares to show up, I won't let him go." Lori remembered something. "By the way, what's the date today?"
"The 2nd, what?"
"Aurora said Todd will definitely show up on the 8th. Just a few more days, and I'll be waiting to skin him."
Ava took a sip of water and casually said, "If you were as enthusiastic with Todd as you were with the owner just now, Todd would definitely fall for you."
"Last time I was like that, and he didn't react. He must have erectile dysfunction."
"You were the one who lost consciousness, not him." Noticing the cunning glint in Lori's eyes, Ava immediately realized she said something wrong and changed the topic. "This water is nice."
"I think your idea is nice. Next time, I'll drug Todd." Lori seemed to envision Todd's misfortune and couldn't help but laugh.
Ava put down her cup. "Lori, have you noticed you're becoming more and more like Aurora?"
"What?"
"More cunning."
Lori nodded. "I've been thinking these days, why can Aurora handle John so well? It's because Aurora has a lot of tricks. Sometimes you don't need fists, you need brains."
Ava was quite surprised by Lori's deep self-awareness and instinctively said, "Do you have brains?"
Lori retorted, "If I don't have a brain, what's this on my neck?"
Ava said without expression, "Sorry, I misspoke. You have a brain, you just don't use it often."
The implication was that it just exists, yet Ava didn't mean that as she was just being honest.
"Ava, you're getting mischievous."
Ava rarely smiled, "Learned from you."
Lori felt quite helpless. At this moment, Joshua came out with a pot of water. "Ladies, the water is ready. Please enjoy."
Ava said, "Thank you, I'm not thirsty."
Despite saying that, Ava's cup was almost empty.
Lori smiled, "I'm thirsty, I'll drink."
Joshua's target was Lori, so he didn't care if Ava drank or not. As long as one of them fell, the other would be easy to handle.
Joshua poured water for Lori. Lori tested the temperature. "A bit hot, let it cool down for a moment. Sir, can you check on our food in the kitchen?"
"Sure." Joshua put down the kettle. "I'll go check."
Joshua kept smiling warmly. Just as he left, another car arrived outside the snack bar.
It really was a small world, as the ones stepping out of the car were Todd and Tyler.
They were also looking for the financial advisor Alexander had previously hired. They followed the clues and found this place.
John had given a strict order to find the advisor within three days, so Tyler sought Todd's help and called him back.
When Lori saw Todd, she was as excited as a cat seeing a mouse, almost ready to pounce.
Ava quickly said, "Aurora is still waiting for a late-night snack."
Every time Lori met Todd, she would definitely get furious. Even though Todd wasn't as strong as Lori, Lori always ended up losing.
"No rush." Lori's eyes lit up. She came up with an idea as she glanced at the newly served water, "This is a godsend. How can I miss such a good opportunity?"
Just as she finished speaking, Todd and Tyler walked in, and Todd immediately noticed Lori was there too.
Even Tyler instinctively looked at Todd. After all, the previous incident between Lori and Todd had caused quite a stir, so everyone knew about it.
Tyler asked, "Maybe we should come back another day?"
"That's what I was thinking." Todd turned and wanted to leave.
Yet Lori stood up and enthusiastically called out, "Mr. Smith, come in and sit. Are you here for a late-night snack too? Let's eat together." Lori didn't give Todd a chance to leave. She directly went up and dragged him in, seating him on a stool, smiling sweetly, "I'm not a tiger. Why are you avoiding me? Even if you are disabled, don't be self-conscious. I won't look down on you."
Todd felt a bit speechless.
Though Todd thought, 'you're scarier than a tiger', he didn't dare say that. "We were just passing by. Didn't see you earlier, not avoiding you."
"Better be." Lori gave a cunning smile. "You must be thirsty. The owner just brought fresh water. Have some. I'll pour it for you. Drink this, and our grudges will be settled."
Todd was surprised. "Since when did you become so generous and kind?"
Lori gritted her teeth subtly but with an even more warm smile on her face. "I've always been generous and kind. Come on, drink. If you don't, it means you don't want to make peace with me."
