Chapter 416 Being Completely Unkind

Most people's arms were soft and warm, but Black Hawk's left arm felt like a rock, no give at all.

When Aurora grabbed it suddenly, it made a sound like plastic tubes clashing together.

Black Hawk was just as shocked. He panicked and pushed Aurora away with his right hand, muttering, "Enjoy your breakfast, Ms. White."

Then Jay wheeled him out of the room.

Aurora stared at her hand, still hanging in mid-air, completely bewildered.

Black Hawk's left arm had a problem, his left arm...

Aurora glanced at the breakfast on the table. It was a simple meal, but it was all her favorite food.

When Jack was in the hospital, she used to buy these same items to visit him before taking the subway to work.

Aurora remembered a time when her paycheck was delayed, and it was the end of the month. She had barely enough money for one breakfast.

She had joked with Jack, saying she was broke and hoped he would recover soon to earn money and take care of her.

Back then, Jack had confidently promised that once he made it big, he would buy her all the delicious food she wanted, a mansion, luxury cars, and they would travel the world together.

Aurora's eyes suddenly felt a bit teary as she stared at the breakfast on the table.

...

Back in his room, Black Hawk gripped his left arm tightly with his right hand. Remembering Aurora's reaction, he closed his eyes and yanked off the temporary prosthetic limb.

"Boss," Jay exclaimed in shock. The wound on Black Hawk's left arm hadn't healed, and the forceful removal of the prosthetic caused it to reopen, blood seeping out.

"I'll get Dr. Silva."

Jay hurried to find the doctor. Black Hawk sat in his wheelchair, his amber eyes dark and menacing beneath his mask.

The pain made Black Hawk's hands tremble as he slowly removed the mask, revealing his true face.

The face reflected in the window was Jack's.

Jack was Black Hawk.

After the failed island raid, all of Lion's men were taken out, but he alone was spared. He knew then that John had discovered he was the one who stole the map.

John didn't kill him, likely out of consideration for Aurora.

With his identity exposed, he couldn't go back. He had to fake his death to escape.

To make it believable, he even destroyed one of his arms.

He had been injured on John's turf, which would surely cause a rift between Aurora and John.

Without the identity of Jack, he could hide behind the mask of Black Hawk and do what he needed to do.

Jay soon returned with Carlos, who examined the wound and frowned. "This wound has reopened twice now. It will be even harder to heal. We need to operate again immediately. Remember, do not touch the wound, or it could get infected and be life-threatening."

"You're exaggerating. It's just an arm; it won't kill me," Jack dismissed. "Go prepare for the surgery."

Carlos wanted to say more, but, seeing Jack's uninterested expression, he left to prepare for the operation.

Jay advised, "Boss, you should focus on recovering first. We can plan the rest later. Maybe we should send Ms. White away for now?"

As long as Aurora was around, Jack couldn't rest and heal properly.

Jack thought about Aurora's reaction earlier. He was afraid she might have figured something out.

He had brought Aurora back to repay her for all she had done for him over the years. He wanted to give her the best of everything.

Aurora deserved better.

John had dared to bully Aurora, and Jack would not stand for it.

Jack clenched his fist, his eyes burning with determination. "Last time, John managed to slip away."

On the day of the fake wedding, Jack had lured John to the lounge, planning to use Sandra to take him out.

If John died, Nightfall would be leaderless, and Ironclad Union would dominate. Jack, as Richard's son, would achieve the grand ambitions his father couldn't.

Jack had an agreement with Oren to only kill John, but that incident almost put Aurora in danger, causing a fallout between him and Oren.

Sandra had hidden in the trunk of Jack's car that day, bringing gasoline with her.

Jack had calculated that with Dean around, John's men wouldn't dare thoroughly search their car.

Jay said, "Boss, don't rush. Nightfall has deep roots. You've already managed Ironclad Union impressively. Great leaders need patience, waiting for the right moment."

"You're right. Patience is key," Jack sneered. "Wade lost his cool and exposed himself, leading to failure. I won't make the same mistake. The old Jack is dead. Now, I'm the leader of Ironclad Union, Black Hawk."

Jay seized the moment. "What about Ms. White?"

Jack thought for a moment. "Let her go."

Jay sighed in relief. "I'll arrange for Ms. White to be sent back to Silvercrest City."

"Good. Keep an eye on Oren. The Shadow of Darkness organization is a prize Ironclad Union must claim."

"Yes, Boss."

After Jay left, Jack looked out the window, recalling Richard's advice.

'Endure humiliation, plan slowly, and never act hastily.'

Jack gripped the wheelchair's armrest tightly, his eyes filled with intense hatred. "John, I will make you pay for my father's death."

During Richard's days on the run, knowing he couldn't make a comeback, he had pinned all his hopes on Jack, giving him his final trump card before being captured.

A shipment worth billions and a secret weapon.

Jay was Richard's gift to Jack.

These resources allowed Jack to quickly consolidate the former Wolfpack members.

...

Aurora was still in shock when Jay informed her she could leave, confirming her suspicions.

Aurora's emotions were high. "I want to see Black Hawk now."

"Ms. White, our leader has no time to see you and won't. I'll have someone take you back to Silvercrest City."

"He's afraid to see me," Aurora said coldly, staring at Jay. "Tell him if he continues down this path, he will lose me as his cousin."

Jay smiled faintly. "I don't understand, Ms. White, but I'll relay your message. The car is ready. I'll take you now."

"No need. I'll go myself."

"This is the leader's order, Ms. White. I'm just following instructions. Don't make it difficult for me. After this, we won't meet again. Even if you dislike me, please bear with it a little longer."

It seemed they were determined to send her away.

As she left, Aurora saw John at the training ground. They exchanged a glance.

Once Aurora exited the gate, John quietly slipped away unnoticed.

Jay personally escorted Aurora, sitting with her in the back seat, with two others in the front.

The car drove out of Ironclad Union and headed towards the reservoir area.

Aurora remained calm. At the reservoir, Jay had the car stop. "Ms. White, the car seems to have a problem. Please step out."

Aurora got out without a word, then smiled at Jay. "You plan to kill me here, don't you?"

Jay, ready to act, was momentarily stunned by her words, then his expression turned sinister. "Ms. White, as long as you're around, the leader will always have reservations. Only your death will free him. Thank you for your sacrifice, Ms. White."
