Chapter 254 The Conspiracy Exposed

Lori had already said to this extent, if Todd didn't drink it, wouldn't it be obvious that he was going against her?

Todd took a glance at the glass of water. "Why do I feel like you have ulterior motives?"

"That must be your imagination." Lori noticed Joshua had returned and beckoned him over. "Sir, could you come here for a moment?"

"Miss, what do you need?" Joshua saw two more men appear and instantly felt that his plan would fail tonight.

Lori glanced at Todd. "Sir, he says there's something wrong with your water."

"That's impossible." Joshua quickly explained, "I just boiled this water. Sir, my business is small, I can't afford jokes like this."

Todd felt a bit awkward, but he smiled warmly. "Since you said that, I'll drink the water."

Internally, Lori thought, 'what a narcissist'. On the surface, she maintained her smile, though it was beginning to feel strained. "Hurry up and drink."

Upon hearing it was Todd who would drink and not Lori, Joshua panicked and quickly said, "The water has cooled down, let me boil a new pot."

If it was discovered that there was something wrong with the water, it would definitely cause trouble.

Just as Joshua reached for the kettle, Lori slammed her hand on it with a fake smile. "I think the temperature is just right, no need to change it."

As Lori said, she cast a meaningful glance at Joshua.

Joshua became even more nervous, could it be that his drugging had been discovered?

Todd played with the cup, an ambiguous smile on his face. A hint of helplessness and indulgence flashed in his eyes, as he knew this was a trap yet was still willing to fall into it.

Though Lori, who was too focused on seeing Todd suffer, didn't notice the slight change in Todd's eyes, Ava, sitting beside Lori, caught it.

Ava, though inexperienced in love, had solid theoretical knowledge. She was quite surprised to see that emotion in Todd's eyes. She glanced at Lori, wondering if there was something between them.

But even if so, with their emotional intelligence, it would be tough.

Todd took the opportunity to negotiate. "Ms. Hernandez, keep your promises. If I drink this water, you can't give me any more trouble."

"I always do. You can ask around. I swear on my integrity."

Hearing her words, Ava instinctively took a glance at her and couldn't help but think, 'Integrity? You don't seem to have any. Are you sure you're not bluffing?'

Even Tyler beside them showed a skeptical expression.

As for Todd, he knew Lori too well, so her integrity was worth nothing to him.

Todd felt quite helpless and didn't know what to say for a moment.

"Stop dawdling, are you a man or not?" Lori, being impatient, couldn't stand Todd's hesitation and directly grabbed the cup to pour the water into his mouth.

Todd instinctively opened his mouth and drank it all.

Seeing Todd drink it, Lori was overjoyed and clapped her hands. "Now we're even for you drugging me and sending me to jail."

So it was just to settle this matter.

Todd sighed and shook his head. "I still fell for it. Ms. Hernandez, your IQ has improved in the past few days. You even are able to manipulate wordsnow."

Lori ignored the sarcasm in his words and just stared at Todd to see his reaction. "Do you feel a burning sensation in your chest? Or do you feel hot?"

"No." Todd wrapped his coat tighter. "I actually feel quite cold."

Lori was puzzled. Could it be that the drug hasn't taken effect yet?

"Miss, your food is packed. That'll be two hundred and sixty dollars." Joshua, nervous, just wanted to quickly get rid of them to avoid being exposed.

"Ava, you take these back to Aurora first. I'll accompany Mr. Smith to a bar."

Lori wouldn't rest until she saw Todd suffer.

There were beautiful women, strong drinks and wild dances in bars. Just imagining Todd making a fool of himself in such a place made her feel delighted.

Thinking of this, Lori couldn't help but smile mischievously.

Seeing her expression, Todd felt quite helpless. How much did she hate him to do this?

Ava, knowing Lori's personality, said, "Be careful. I'm heading back."

Lori waved her off. "Go on, no need to worry about me. Who can beat against me?"

Ava paid the bill and left.

Tyler reminded Todd, "Mr. Smith, Mr. Lewis wants us to find the financial advisor who instigated Alexander."

"Ava and I have been looking for days and haven't found him. It's too late now, let's do it tomorrow." Lori said to Tyler, "You should go home and rest. I'll go drinking with Mr. Smith."

Tyler looked at Todd for his opinion.

Todd waved him off. "You go back first."

"Yes, Mr. Smith."

After Tyler left, Lori enthusiastically pulled Todd along. "Let's go to the bar and check out the ladies."

Yet they didn't notice that Joshua's gaze instantly turned quite strange upon overhearing their conversation.

Euphoria Bar.

Lori "enthusiastically" ordered a lot of alcoholic drinks for Todd, but to put it plainly, her intentions were far from innocent.

Sitting on the couch, Lori seriously asked, "What do you think of that girl? Nice curves.

That one is good too, with nice hips.

And that one, she looks so pure. Do you fancy any of them?"

Todd, looking refined, said, "They're just fine."

Lori rolled her eyes. It had been a while, the drug should have taken effect by now, right?

Why was there no reaction?

Lori "concernedly" asked, "You really don't feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

"No. I'm fine, it's just a bit noisy here." Todd, looking normal, was actually sweating in his palms. Even though he had taken the antidote Gary previously gave him, he still felt a bit off.

Luckily, it was still under his control.

Lori looked Todd up and down and saw that he truly had no reaction. "You really have erectile dysfunction."

Her tone was full of disdain, contempt, and a bit of sympathy.

Todd subtly gritted his teeth while thinking, 'fine, I'll endure it', then pretended to be confused. "What do you mean, Ms. Hernandez?"

"Nothing, let's go home. You're wasting my beauty sleep." Not seeing Todd embarrassed, Lori lost interest.

Todd pretended to be humble. "Ms. Hernandez, what about our grudge? I really didn't mean it before."

"Forget it." Lori originally wanted to say she wouldn't hold a grudge against a man with erectile dysfunction but swallowed her words, thinking it would hurt his pride.

Hearing this, a hint of smile flashed in Todd's eyes as he nodded. "Thank you, Ms. Hernandez. I'll be going then."

"Go on." Lori, feeling sympathetic, suddenly understood Todd and said, "It's not easy for you."

A man with erectile dysfunction, it really wasn't easy.

Todd nodded repeatedly. "Yes, it's really not easy."

These years of being constantly picked on by Lori, it really wasn't easy.

"Go home." Lori felt guilty, her tone softening.

"Then I'll really go." As Todd said, he picked up his coat from the couch while standing up, and suddenly, something fell out from his coat.

It was a pill bottle, rolling to Lori's feet.

Seeing the bottle, Todd immediately turned around, ready to run away. Yet this moment, Lori had picked up the bottle, and instantly became furious upon seeing the name on it. "Damn you, Todd, you tricked me again. Stop right there."
