Chapter 146 The Paternity Test Results are in
When Sophia heard there was some drama brewing, she got all excited.
"Aurora, spill the beans! What kind of drama are we talking about?"
Aurora grinned. "Where's the fun in that? And why are you so late?"
"I came as soon as I got your call and rounded up a few guys. I got here as fast as I could," Sophia replied, hearing some screams from the room. "Wait, why does that voice sound so familiar? Is that Daniel?"
Aurora smirked. "Bingo. It's Daniel."
"What?" Sophia was shocked, then annoyed. "Daniel still hasn't given up?"
"Yeah, he divorced Emily and now he's back to bothering me."
"That jerk really thinks he's the last man on Earth."
"Alright, let's go."
Lloyd's 70th birthday bash was at Aqua Hotel, with the whole third floor booked and a ton of guests.
Champagne was flowing, glasses were clinking. The women looked stunning, and the men were all charm.
His birthday party was even bigger than the family reunion, with guests from everywhere. When Aurora and Sophia showed up, Jane was already there. Summer and Loren weren't in the main hall, so Aurora asked Todd, "Where are Summer and Loren?"
"Summer's not into the crowd, so they went to the backyard. Don't worry, it's Mr. Lewis's birthday, no one's gonna cause trouble. Helen and Ashley are with them," Todd said.
Aurora felt relieved and asked, "Why isn't John here yet?"
She had seen Rex and his son earlier.
"He had some stuff to handle and will be late," Todd said with a polite smile. "There's always a bigger fish."
Aurora got it.
"Sophia." Leo came in with a cast on his arm, waving enthusiastically at Sophia from afar, smiling like he had just reunited with a long-lost friend.
"Sophia." He walked over, eyes only on Sophia. "You look amazing today. That yellow dress makes you look like a goddess."
"Cut it out." Sophia rolled her eyes. "So, the dress looks good, but I don't?"
"That's not what I meant. You look even better; the dress is just a bonus," Leo said sweetly. "Sophia, let's go have a drink, just the two of us. It's too noisy here."
"No way, I have nothing to say to you," Sophia said, standing behind Aurora. "Don't get any ideas. You're not my type."
When it came to turning people down, Sophia was as blunt as Aurora.
Leo clutched his chest, looking heartbroken. "Sophia, that's too harsh. What don't you like about me? I'll change."
Leo was ready to change anything Sophia didn't like. But Sophia said, "I don't like anything about you."
Leo was stunned.
"Sophia, you can't say that," Leo said earnestly. "You should get to know me better. Choosing me, Leo, would be the best decision of your life."
Leo pounded his chest, looking very manly.
Sophia shrugged. "Aurora, let's go over there."
"Aurora," Leo clung to Aurora's arm, crying and wailing. "Help me out, say something nice. My future depends on you."
Aurora and Sophia were helpless with him.
This was blatant relationship-pulling. Only Leo would be so shameless.
"Don't ask Aurora to help you," Sophia said. "It's me who doesn't like you. No one will change that."
Aurora shrugged helplessly. "You see, I can't help you."
Leo was very frustrated.
Sophia linked arms with Aurora and headed over to where the socialites were hanging out, lowering her voice. "Aurora, if you want the juicy gossip, you gotta mingle with them. Plus, it keeps them from gossiping about you."
"Your love for gossip never ceases to amaze me," Aurora said with a wry smile. "You're the one dying for gossip, yet here you are dragging me along."
Sophia grinned, "You're the most stunning woman here today. Aren't you worried they'll gossip about you?"
"No need to hear it; I already know what they'll be gossiping about—John and me."
Aurora knew her situation was a hot topic.
As Kevin's goddaughter and John's chosen future mistress of the Lewis family, she was always in the spotlight.
As soon as Aurora and Sophia joined the socialites, the others slowly gathered around. Everyone was chatting and laughing, acting like they were all best friends. Being socially adept was a must for socialites.
With Aurora there, most of the socialites at the party gathered around. Among all the beauties, Aurora was undoubtedly the most striking, easily standing out.
Seeing this, Jane felt a pang of jealousy. Just then, a waiter approached her. "Ms. Torres, someone asked me to give this to you."
"Thanks." Jane glanced at it; it was the paternity test results from the testing center.
Jane eagerly opened the envelope. When she saw that Summer was indeed Aurora's biological son, she was so excited she almost laughed out loud.
She smiled excitedly. "This is perfect."
'Great, Aurora, I have such a big piece of dirt on you. Let's see how you explain yourself later.' She thought to herself.
The future matriarch of the Lewis Family had a child out of wedlock, and with irrefutable evidence in hand, she wondered if the Lewis Family would still accept a woman with such a scandalous private life.
Jane, holding the paternity test results, sauntered over to Aurora.
"Ms. White, you look stunning today. All the other beauties pale in comparison to you." With one sentence, Jane put Aurora in the spotlight.
Women were naturally jealous. Seeing someone more beautiful than themselves always made them uncomfortable.
Aurora's beauty was well-known, and everyone knew they were just her backdrop. But saying it out loud made everyone uneasy.
Jane's belly was quite large, and she wore a tight dress, making her pregnancy obvious.
Sophia was secretly astonished, realizing that Jane was really something, very articulate.
With a faint smile on her face, Aurora casually touched her earring, exuding a bit of laziness.
"Beauty is like the flowers of the four seasons, each season's flowers are different. But no matter the season, the flowers are always stunning. Some love the grandeur of peonies, while others love the fiery passion of roses."
Aurora looked at Jane and said with a smile, "Ms. Torres, you are like a charming datura flower. Every beauty is unique in its own way, so why belittle yourself?"
With this remark, Aurora cleverly praised every lady present, easing their discomfort, while implying that Jane, despite her beauty, was actually quite malicious.
The socialites were no fools. They caught the hidden meaning in Aurora's words and secretly admired her wit, while also chuckling. "Yes, Ms. Torres, don't be modest. By the way, Ms. Torres, why are you wearing such high heels while pregnant? Your belly is so big now, be careful not to fall."
Jane caught the sarcasm in those words and felt a bit embarrassed, her hatred for Aurora deepening.
