Chapter 184 Helen Wakes Up, The Secret Revealed

Anyway, Dean was okay, which was a bit of a relief.

This whole kidnapping thing felt more like a prank.

Plus, Dean was stripped of his clothes and felt super embarrassed, so he didn't bother reporting it to the cops.

Dean wanted to head back to The White Family, but Aurora took him straight to Meadow Brook Villa.

Meadow Brook Villa was the fanciest place in Silver Crest City, and the folks living there were either loaded or had serious clout.

They were all at the top of the social ladder.

With Dean's skills, even if he had the cash, he wouldn't qualify to buy a place here.

The villas here weren't just about money; they were about power and social status.

Money split people into different classes, and no matter how much you denied it, it was a fact.

All the way, Dean was super excited. This was his first time at Meadow Brook Villa, and it was also the home of his future son-in-law, so he was thrilled.

After driving into Meadow Brook Villa, Aurora parked right in front of John's house and handed the car keys to a servant to park.

"Aurora, are you gonna live here from now on?" Dean looked at the luxurious villa, like someone who had never seen the world, his eyes filled with excitement.

Dean looked at John's mansion and then thought about his own place. In comparison, he realized how shabby his place was and finally understood what true wealth was.

"Just occasionally for a few days," Aurora said. "It's far from the city center, so it's inconvenient for work."

"You're gonna be Ms. Lewis; why do you still need to work? How much can you earn?"

Aurora laughed, "Dean, that's the wrong mindset. It doesn't matter how much I earn, even if it's just a few thousand dollars. It's money I earned myself, and it gives me confidence."

As they passed by an artificial lake, Dean asked, "Why dig such a big lake at home? What a waste. What's planted in it?"

"Water lilies," Aurora glanced at it and said. "John had it remodeled recently because I like water lilies. He planted a whole patch for me. The backyard of The Lewis Mansion also has them."

Hearing that John planted them to please Aurora, Dean was delighted. "Aurora, that John treats you really well, and I can rest assured."

Wherever they went, the servants respectfully greeted Aurora with "Hello, Ms. White."

Aurora didn't think much of it, but Dean started to feel proud. "Aurora, when are you two getting married? Have you set a date? You can't delay it anymore. If something unexpected happens, it won't be good."

"No need to hurry." Aurora really wasn't in a rush. Since Helen hadn't woken up yet, and John still had some women around him to deal with, she wasn't in a rush either.

Compared to being called Ms. Lewis, she preferred the title Ms. White.

As soon as Aurora stepped into the hall, a servant immediately brought shoes for her to change into.

Aurora asked, "Where's John?"

The servant smiled and said, "Mr. Lewis is in the kitchen. He said he wants to personally make soup for you."

Dean was surprised. "The future son-in-law is cooking for Aurora himself? What a good man, Aurora, you should marry him right now."

Dean couldn't wait for them to get married just right now.

Aurora rolled her eyes at Dean. "You should hurry and change your clothes."

Dean almost forgot he was still wearing a woman's coat.

Aurora had a servant take Dean to change clothes, while she went to the kitchen.

In the spacious kitchen, John had his sleeves rolled up and was tasting the soup. There were also a few side dishes beside him that looked very appetizing.

Aurora quietly walked over and hugged John from behind. "Why are you being so sweet today, cooking yourself?"

John turned to Aurora, enjoying the way she clung to him. "You're not just eating for yourself now, so you need to eat well. It's my honor to cook for you and our daughter."

John scooped a spoonful of soup. "Here, taste it."

Aurora took a sip. "It's really good. What kind of soup is this?"

"Chicken soup." John turned off the stove and served a bowl for Aurora. "Go sit down; I'll bring it over."

"Okay." Aurora casually grabbed the side dishes and went to sit down, waiting for the meal.

She suddenly felt like she was back in their old apartment, with John cooking and her waiting in the dining room. It was simple but warm.

"Aurora, now that you're pregnant, we need to move up our wedding date," John said, bringing out the soup. "I'll tell Grandpa tomorrow."

"No need to rush." Aurora gave the same answer, "Auntie Helen hasn't woken up yet. She always wanted to see us get married and would definitely want to attend the wedding in person. If we get married without her, she'd feel really regretful."

John thought about how much Helen cared about his marriage. As a mother, she would definitely want to personally handle her son's wedding.

Aurora's thoughtful consideration warmed John's heart. "Alright, we'll do as you say."

"John, I heard from the servants that you personally made chicken soup for me today." Jennifer came down from upstairs, smiling as she walked over. Then she turned to Aurora as if she had just noticed her. "Ms. White is here too."

Just when they had a bit of private space, Jennifer ruined it.

"This chicken soup is for..."

John was about to say it was for Aurora, but Aurora interrupted with a smile, "The chicken soup is just ready. Ms. Johnson, please sit down and have some. Your health is weak; you need to nourish yourself."

Aurora personally served a bowl for Jennifer. Just as Jennifer was about to drink it, Aurora said to John, "Next time, make me some fox soup. I heard from Sophia that fox meat is quite delicious, and I bet the soup must be good too."

Aurora deliberately said this to irritate Jennifer and also to test her.

However, Jennifer showed no unusual reaction and even smiled, "I've also heard that fox soup is good. I'd like to try it too."

Such flawless words...

John sensed Aurora's hostility towards Jennifer.

Having two women under the same roof was indeed trouble.

"Just in time for a meal, what a coincidence." Todd's voice came before he arrived.

"Boss, I have good news for you. I just talked to Gary, and he said Auntie Helen has woken up."

This was indeed good news.

John said, "I'll call Gary right now to ask."

John had prepared for the worst, but now hearing Helen had woken up, he was naturally excited.

When the call connected, John asked, "Has my mom woken up?"

"Yes, she just woke up. I was about to call you," Gary said. "Auntie Helen was just insisting on leaving and calling you, and she says she has something important to tell you in person."

"Can I take her back to Silver Crest City Hospital?"

Gary replied, "Since she's awake, she can be brought back for recovery."

John said, "Alright, I'll arrange for her to be brought back immediately."

Hearing that Helen had woken up and was about to return, Aurora also felt relieved.

Emily had injured Helen, and Aurora had always felt guilty for that. Emily had a grudge against her, and it was her fault that Helen got hurt.

Now that Helen was awake, Aurora's sense of guilt was somewhat alleviated.
