Chapter 213 Aurora's True Identity
Aurora couldn't play it cool this time. Normally, she'd have kicked him away and told him to scram. But right now, she needed someone to help her feel better.
"John, our baby..." Aurora was worried. She was scared the clam chowder might hurt the babies and that if they lost control, it could be bad news for them.
"Don't worry, I'll be gentle." John held Aurora's head with one hand and supported her waist with the other, letting her sit on his lap.
Aurora wrapped her arms around John's neck, her cheeks turning red as she looked at him. "Are you planning to stand like this? Can you handle it? I weigh at least 99 pounds."
The space was super tight, and just 7 feet ahead was the danger zone. If they stepped into it, they'd be toast. The sides were also really narrow, and the floor was cold and hard. It seemed like standing was their only option.
John bit Aurora's ear a little, his voice rough. "No position is too tough for me."
Aurora looked at John, speechless for a moment. The temperature in the narrow passage kept rising. She couldn't take the heat anymore and bit John's chin.
After patching up her wound, Sandra headed to Alexander's room. Even though she let John go, she was sure he couldn't escape. Getting out of here wasn't a piece of cake.
As for Aurora, Sandra was certain she was already Alexander's woman. She let John go so he could see Aurora with Alexander and give up on her. No guy would want a woman who wasn't pure. If she could make John give up on Aurora, almost losing her hands would be worth it.
"Dad, where are Aurora and John?" asked Sandra.
When she walked into the room, she saw Alexander sitting on a wooden chair, sipping tea while his eyes were fixed on the antique shelf across the room. A group of bodyguards stood behind him, looking as if they were waiting for something. Surprisingly, the presence of so many people made Sandra feel more at ease.
As she observed the scene, a thought crossed her mind that brought a smile to her face: Aurora must have lost her purity. The very idea filled Sandra with a sense of satisfaction."They're inside." Alexander pointed at the antique shelf and sneered, "All these years, no one has ever come out of there alive. They went in on their own, so whether they live or die has nothing to do with me."
Hearing his words, Sandra's smile froze, and her legs went weak. "Dad, what did you say? John went in? Let him out, now."
Sandra knew exactly what was behind the antique shelf. It was a secret room where Alexander kept his most valuable stuff, with tons of traps inside. Over the years, many treasure thieves had died in there.
"The traps are set, there's no way out." Alexander ordered, "Guard it well. Open the door tomorrow morning and get rid of their bodies."
"Dad, Dad, save John." Sandra was frantic. "What about Aurora? Did she drink the clam chowder? If she's in there with John, then aren't they..."
Thinking of John and Aurora together filled Sandra with jealousy. "No, I won't let them be together. Dad, open the door."
Hearing about the clam chowder, Alexander suddenly lost it and slapped Sandra. "How dare you plot against me? This is the last time. If you try anything else, don't blame me for cutting you off. John and Aurora are done for. Now wait to collect their bodies tomorrow morning."
"Dad, didn't you say you wanted to marry Aurora? If she dies, won't your plan fail?"
"She's just a woman. I've never been short on women. If she dies, so be it," Alexander sneered. "Just like her mother, ungrateful. I'll send her to the underworld to join her mother."
Sandra was too worried about John to fully grasp what her dad was saying. "Dad, let me in. I need to find him."
"Sandra!" Alexander shouted, his eyes filled with disappointment. "He's just a man. Look at you now. You don't deserve to be my daughter."
Seeing both his daughters obsessed with John made Alexander even more determined that John had to die. "Guard it well. No one opens that door until tomorrow," he ordered.
The bodyguards responded, "Yes, Mr. Johnson."
Just then, Oren walked in. "Mr. Johnson, Mr. Lee from Wolfpack is here."
"Richard?" Alexander was a bit surprised. "How many people did he bring?"
"Just himself."
"Himself?" Alexander seemed a bit incredulous, then sneered, "After all these years, he still dares to come here alone."
Leaving those words, Alexander eagerly went to meet Richard.
"Dad! Dad!" Sandra's shouts didn't make Alexander turn back.
Looking at the tightly closed antique shelf, Sandra was anxious and desperate. Those who went in never came out alive.
"I want to go in. I order you to open the door," said Sandra.
The bodyguards stood still, expressionless. "Ms. Johnson, you heard Mr. Johnson. Don't make it difficult for us."
"You!" Sandra gritted her teeth, feeling helpless. Now she could only hope that John was alive. As for Aurora, if she died, so be it.
Downstairs in the hall.
Richard came alone and sat on the sofa waiting.
At this moment, Alexander came down with a dozen people who immediately surrounded Richard.
"Richard, it's been decades. I didn't expect you to come to my territory."
The Shadow of Darkness organization and Wolfpack had been at odds for so many years, but the two had never faced each other directly.
It had been over twenty years since Alexander left Wolfpack, and this was the first time the two met. Both had the marks of time on their faces.
Richard glanced at Alexander's bodyguards and sneered, "Over twenty years, and your courage has only shrunk."
Alexander's face turned ugly, and he became furious. "Richard, aren't you afraid I won't let you leave?"
"Since I dared to come here, I have nothing to fear." Richard stood up, coldly staring at Alexander. "Hand over Aurora, or you'll regret it."
Alexander sat on the sofa, lit a cigar, and laughed arrogantly, "Richard, you and Wendy couldn't tolerate me back then. Now look, I've built The Shadow of Darkness organization step by step. This proves I was right. I've never regretted anything in my life."
"Alexander, I'm not here to argue. Do you know Aurora is Wendy's daughter? You must release her now."
"You're too late." Alexander smoked his cigar, legs crossed, looking smug. "Half an hour ago, she entered the secret room. With all the traps inside, she should be a corpse by now. You're just in time to take Wendy's daughter's body back."
"What!" Richard was shocked and furious. He pointed at Alexander and said, "You beast, you even dare to kill your own daughter."
Upon hearing his words, Alexander was completely stunned. "Say that again, whose daughter is Aurora?"
"Aurora is your and Wendy's daughter," Richard snapped.
