Chapter 137 Crowding to Do Paternity Tests
Emily was getting more and more freaked out. "I'm telling you, Daniel. Loren's gotta be Aurora's kid. Don't they look alike?"
She whipped out her phone, scrolling through old pics of Aurora to show Daniel.
"You're losing it, Emily. Just sign the damn papers. I'm done." Daniel grabbed her hand. "Before you, my life was awesome. Marrying you screwed everything up. If I'd married Aurora, I wouldn't be in this mess."
Emily saw the hate in his eyes. "Daniel, my mom tried to off herself and ended up in jail. Both my dads disowned me. Are you gonna leave me too?"
Daniel was all she had left.
"You did this to yourself. Don't drag me into it," Daniel said coldly. "As for the baby, keep it or not, I don't care. Don't expect me to acknowledge it."
"You're heartless," Emily said, filled with grief and anger.
"Sign it." Daniel shoved the divorce papers at her again. "If you don't, I'll make you. Save yourself the trouble."
Emily knew he wasn't bluffing.
Staring at the papers, she finally scribbled her name. "Daniel, I hope you won't regret this."
"Marrying you is my biggest regret," Daniel said, snatching the papers and leaving without a second thought.
After he left, Emily went on a rampage, smashing things in a fit of rage.
She had nothing left. It was all Aurora's fault.
"Breaking stuff won't hurt Aurora," Sandra said, walking in with a mask on. She glanced around and then at Emily's severed finger. "John only took one finger. Consider yourself lucky."
"Ms. Johnson, help me," Emily pleaded. "I have a big secret. Look."
She showed Sandra a childhood photo of Aurora.
"Who is this?" Sandra asked.
"Doesn't it look familiar?" Emily said urgently, "It's young Aurora. Doesn't she look like Loren? I'm sure he's her kid."
Sandra saw the resemblance.
"I'll get a DNA test for Loren and Aurora. We'll expose her at Lloyd's birthday party. Let's see how she stays the future mistress of the Lewis family then."
Sandra promised, "If you get Aurora out, I'll help you win Daniel back."
"No, I want to ruin Daniel, make him lose everything like I did," Emily said, eyes filled with hatred.
Sandra smiled, liking this side of Emily.
Jane was at the Lewis Mansion. With everyone else out, she went to Aurora's room and found some hair on the dressing table. She bagged it and headed to the hospital's testing center.
She already had Summer's hair. Handing both samples to the center, she paid extra for expedited results. "I need them by 5 PM this weekend."
The doctor assured her, "No problem."
Meanwhile...
Aurora was at a hotel with Summer and Loren, joining Helen for a food tasting.
Loren, being a foodie, ate until he was stuffed and then sprawled on a chair to rest.
Summer, on the other hand, was more restrained. Even with all the delicious food, he didn't overindulge like Loren.
Helen, knowing they were brothers, was delighted after her initial surprise.
Aurora had mixed feelings. Even though the DNA test results weren't out yet, she was almost certain Summer and Loren were her kids.
Her two boys were so sharp and lovable. Sometimes Aurora wondered if Mark's genes could really make such awesome kids.
She remembered Mark denying that night five years ago. Could it be that the guy that night wasn't Mark?
Lost in thought, Aurora suddenly heard Helen calling her.
"Aurora, try this wine and see how it tastes."
"Okay." Aurora took a sip. "It's refreshing, full-bodied, with a long finish and a fruity aroma."
"Then this red wine it is," Helen decided with a smile.
"I wanna try it too," Loren said, rubbing his little belly.
"Kids can't drink wine," Aurora shot him down.
Loren then looked at Summer. "Summer, I just want a tiny sip."
"No," Summer backed Aurora up. "Remember when you sneaked some of the director's wine and slept all afternoon?"
Loren pouted. "Hmph, you all don't love me anymore. I'm a poor little thing with no one to love."
Aurora laughed. "Now you're playing the poor little thing?"
Seeing Loren's pitiful look, Helen felt sorry for him. "Come here, I will let you have a tiny taste."
"Helen loves me the most," Loren said, hugging Helen's leg and sticking his tongue out at Aurora and Summer.
A kid who knew how to act cute always found someone to spoil them.
Helen poured a drop of red wine onto a plate and let Loren taste it. Loren wanted more, but Helen said, "No more. When you grow up, I won't stop you."
As they were chatting, a well-dressed woman approached, looking at Helen with surprise. "Helen, is that really you?"
Helen turned and was equally surprised. "Eleanor, when did you get back?"
Eleanor Clarke and Helen had been friends for years. After Eleanor moved abroad, they had less contact, but their friendship stayed strong.
"Isn't your dad turning seventy? I came back just for that. Isn't that thoughtful of me?"Helen pretended to be mad. "I thought you were gonna stay in abroad forever and never come back. It's been so many years, and you never came to see me."
"Oh, I wanted to come back, but I was busy helping my son with his kids. First, I took care of my grandson, and now my granddaughter. I thought raising my son was hard enough, but now it's like going back decades." Eleanor had a great personality and was super straightforward.
Eleanor noticed Summer and Loren and was momentarily stunned. "Helen, are these your grandsons? My, they're so handsome. They look just like John when he was little. And this must be your daughter-in-law. She's so elegant. John has good taste."
Eleanor pretended to be mad too. "Helen, that's not fair. How come you didn't tell me when John got married? And now you have two grandsons this big, and you never mentioned it during our calls."
Grandsons?
Helen, hearing Eleanor's words, also thought Summer and Loren looked like John.
Helen had previously compared them to John's childhood photos and found a resemblance, but John had denied it.
Eleanor's words reignited Helen's suspicions.
