Chapter 451 Discovering the Scar on Karolyn's Face

Aurora beamed, her smile warm and friendly towards Karolyn.

Karolyn looked at Aurora's smile, feeling an intense urge to tear that face apart. To her, it was Aurora's pretty face that had bewitched John.

"Go ahead, dig in," Aurora said, handing over a knife and fork.

Suppressing her hatred for Aurora, Karolyn took the utensils and took a bite. As soon as the food touched her tongue, her expression changed dramatically. "Is there a peanut in this?"

"Yeah, there's some peanut butter. Why don't you like it?" Aurora asked, feigning innocence. "I thought it smelled delicious."

Karolyn frowned. "I never eat peanuts. I'm allergic to them."

"What? I didn't know that," Aurora said, pretending to be shocked. "I'm so sorry. Spit it out quickly, and I'll have someone get you a new one."

Aurora then called out, "Sam, hurry, get Ms. Harrington a new dish. Remember, no peanut butter. Ms. Harrington is allergic to peanuts."

Sam immediately came in. "Yes, Mrs. Lewis, I'll go right away."

Karolyn realized that Aurora had brought someone with her. Sam had been waiting outside the whole time.

Feigning confusion, Karolyn asked, "Aurora, who was that just now?"

"One of my husband's men," Aurora sighed. "I told him not to follow me, but my husband insisted. He's so afraid I'll run off with another man."

Karolyn felt a sharp pain in her heart but forced herself to act nonchalant. "Your husband is really good to you."

"Of course," Aurora said, a shy smile playing on her lips. "My husband has to hold me every night to sleep. If he doesn't, he can't fall asleep. He's so clingy, always giving me little surprises. He's spoiling me rotten. His love is suffocating. Actually, when you called, I was with him. He was begging me to give him a daughter in broad daylight."

That last, explicit comment nearly made Karolyn lose her composure. Imagining John and Aurora together, seeing Aurora's blissful expression, felt like a thousand arrows piercing her body.

Aurora watched Karolyn's face, smiling shyly. "Why am I telling you all this? Don't laugh at me. My legs are still weak."

Karolyn forced a smile that looked more like a grimace, her hands clenched tightly under the table, struggling to contain her anger.

"Why would I laugh? I'm envious."

"Don't be envious. You're so beautiful, gentle, and understanding. Once you have a child, you'll have men lining up to love you. How about I introduce you to someone? What about Sam Abernathy? Don't mind that he's my husband's subordinate. He makes a million dollars a year." Aurora enthusiastically played matchmaker. "Sam's not young anymore. He's been asking me to find him a wife. I think you two would be perfect together."

Outside the hospital room, Sam shivered.

This was too much. Introducing a deranged Sandra to him? Did she want him dead?

Aurora's order for Sam to get food was just for show. He hadn't actually gone.

Sandra was allergic, Karolyn was allergic, and John was highly suspicious of Karolyn. Despite the paternity test not conclusively proving Karolyn's identity, there was an eighty percent chance that Karolyn was Sandra.

Hearing Aurora suggest Sam, Karolyn was furious.

A servant? Suitable for her?

Karolyn was extremely unwilling but didn't dare show it too openly. She said politely, "Aurora, don't joke around. I don't want to drag anyone else down with me."

Aurora laughed inwardly. It was clear Karolyn looked down on Sam.

Aurora suddenly leaned in, staring at Karolyn's face. "Karolyn, why do you have a scar on your face? I never noticed it before."

Karolyn usually covered it with thick foundation, making it hard to see.

Even if Sandra had plastic surgery, the scar on her face was too deep to completely remove. Even with top-notch technology, it could only be lightened, leaving a faint scar.
