Chapter 46 Watch Her Fight Back
No one knew what Aurora was doing on her computer at this moment.
Emily just thought Aurora was making a last-ditch effort.
Even if they called the police, so what?
As long as this dirty water is thrown on Aurora, ruining her reputation and achieving their goal, that would be enough.
Emily secretly gave Henry a look. Henry, who seemed honest, was actually very shrewd.
Hearing about calling the police, Henry looked at Aurora with a face full of regret. "Are you really going to be so heartless? Aurora, after all we've been through, even if you despise me, the child is innocent."
As he spoke, Henry, a grown man, started crying, gaining a lot of sympathy.
Holding the little boy, Henry cried and said, "Baby, it's my fault for not giving you a complete family. When I die, you'll go to an orphanage. Don't blame your mommy; she just wants a better life, and there's nothing wrong with that."
Aurora's expression was icy as she stared coldly at Henry. Every word he said was venomous.
Wasn't he clearly accusing her of being cold-blooded and selfish?
The little boy cried sadly, hugging Henry. "Daddy, don't die. Mommy, I don't want you anymore. Mommy is bad."
The chatter in the banquet hall grew even more intense.
Ashley couldn't stand it anymore and angrily said, "Security, get these two out of here. What do they think this place is?"
Security immediately came in, but Aurora raised her hand and said, "Godmother, wait."
From beginning to end, Aurora remained calm, as if she were an outsider watching a play, her hands typing quickly on the keyboard, and no one could see what she was doing.
At this moment, she still had the mind to play on her computer?
Miss White was really laid-back.
Nicole, looking exasperated, stepped forward. "Aurora, how can you be so cold-blooded? This is your biological son."
Upstairs, Todd was getting anxious and quickly said, "Boss, if you don't go down now, Miss White won't be able to clear her name."
From John's angle, he could see exactly what Aurora was doing.
At this moment, Aurora could still remain so composed. No wonder she was the woman he had his eye on.
"No need, she'll handle it." John was no longer worried. On the contrary, if he stepped in, it would make it harder for Aurora to clear her name.
Seeing Aurora unmoved, Emily also got anxious. "Aurora, say something. This child is so pitiful. How can you be so heartless..."
"Yes, the child is indeed pitiful, but it's even more heartless to use a child to set someone up." Aurora interrupted Emily sharply, showing the front of her computer to everyone. "If you're going to throw dirt on someone, at least use better Photoshop skills. With this level of editing, you dare to show it?"
"This is a work photo of mine, taken at a party once. I didn't expect it to be used like this, with a stack of composite photos to slander me."
On the computer screen were the photos Henry had just shown, but it was obvious they were composites.
After seeing the photos on the computer, everyone understood.
The photos were fake. The face in the photos was Aurora's, but it was clearly cut from a photo taken at a party.
Emily and Nicole exchanged glances, not expecting Aurora to be so good with computers.
Emily had just casually found some photos online, not expecting to be exposed by Aurora on the spot.
Ashley, seeing the photos, got even angrier and pointed at Henry. "How dare you use such despicable means to frame my adopted daughter? What are your intentions? Security, don't wait for the police.Take him directly to the station."
Henry panicked, glanced at Emily, and pushed the little boy forward. "I didn't slander her. This kid is Aurora's child. I can do a paternity test to prove I'm not lying."
"Ridiculous." Aurora sneered. "You randomly bring a child and claim he's my son, and I have to agree to a paternity test? Today it's one child, tomorrow another. When will it end? Do you think the law is just for show?"
The crowd murmured.
"Yeah, the photos are obviously fake. Besides, that man doesn't look like well. How could Miss White be interested in him?"
"Bringing a child at this time, I think, this man is very scheming. His honesty is just a facade."
"Mr. Kevin Robinson just promised to give three percent of the shares as a dowry, and immediately someone brings a child to claim Miss White as his mother. It's obviously for the money."
"I don't think this man could come up with such a vicious plan. There must be someone behind him."
"Who do you think it could be?"
Jack, who had just come out of the restroom, realized something was wrong and stood in front of Aurora protectively.
"Tell me, who put you up to this? Was it that Nicole and Emily?"
Jack feared nothing and certainly wasn't afraid of offending Nicole and Emily.
Seeing things fall apart, Henry suddenly started breathing heavily, collapsed to the ground, convulsing, and foaming at the mouth, scaring everyone into stepping back.
Emily quickly said, "Get him to the hospital, and don't let him die here. Aurora, it's a human life after all."
The little boy cried in fear. "Daddy. Daddy..."
Ashley also worried about someone dying here and said, "Quick. Get him to the hospital."
As long as they left, today's matter would be left unresolved, and the issue of Aurora having an illegitimate child would remain a stain on her reputation.
That was exactly Emily's plan.
But Aurora wouldn't let him leave so easily.
Before the security could come up, Aurora walked over to Henry, squatted down, and placed her hands on his chest.
Emily got anxious, a flash of malice in her eyes, and said again, "Aurora, what are you doing? He's dying. If you don't get him to the hospital, it'll be too late. You can't just watch him die."
"Shut up."
Aurora shot a sharp look over and then pressed down hard on Henry's chest. She leaned in and whispered something in his ear that only the two of them could hear. Henry stopped convulsing and opened his eyes, filled with terror.
"Wow, Miss White can even save people. That's impressive."
"Yeah, Miss White is so kind. Even after being slandered like this, she still repays evil with good."
A look of surprise flashed in Emily's eyes. "Aurora, what did you do? What did you say to him? How did he get better?"
As soon as Emily finished speaking, the sound of police sirens came from outside. Henry panicked and started to run, no longer limping.
Everyone suddenly realized that he had been faking his limp and illness to gain sympathy.
Aurora moved quickly, grabbing Henry's shoulder and throwing him over her shoulder, subduing him.
Her Taekwondo training wasn't for nothing.
Henry was slammed heavily to the ground, drawing everyone's attention.
There was shock, admiration, and envy.
Upstairs, Todd exclaimed, "Miss White is so fierce. Boss, can you handle her in the future?"
John had a doting smile on his lips but said nothing.
Kevin said, "Mr. Lewis, I'll go down now."
With things getting this chaotic, it was about time to wrap it up. Kevin should make an appearance.
"Okay," John responded, continuing to sit and drink his coffee.
Henry was subdued, and the police arrived. One of the officers recognized Henry and said, "You just got out after six years in prison, and you're at it again? You must really like jail. Let's go."
Six years in prison?
This man had just claimed to have had a fling with Aurora five years ago.
With the police's words, everyone now understood that it was indeed slander.
Henry immediately pleaded with Emily, "Ms. Emily White, save me. Ms. Emily White, you promised me I'd be fine."
This statement caused another uproar in the hall.
So, it was the youngest daughter of the White family who had hired someone to frame Aurora.
How dare Emily come up with such a vicious plan?
Everyone looked at Emily. Her eyes darted around, and she panicked, instinctively stepping back and stammering.
Aurora stared at Emily and asked, "Dear sister, shouldn't you explain to everyone what's going on?"
"I don't even know this man. How would I know what he's talking about?" Emily pushed all the responsibility away.
Karen spoke up, "Just now, you were clearly siding with that man. Who would believe you don't know him? Otherwise, why would he ask you for help and not someone else?"
Aurora was a bit surprised. She hadn't expected Karen to speak up for her.
Emily argued, "I didn't. I just felt sorry for the man. How was I supposed to know he was a fraud?"
"Ms. Emily White, how can you burn bridges?" Henry stared at Emily, agitated. "You were the one who told me to do this."
"You're talking nonsense. I don't even know you. Why would I tell you to do this?" Emily refused to admit it. Admitting it would be the end for her. She looked to Daniel for help.
Daniel frowned but said nothing. He wasn't stupid enough to take the fall for Emily.
Nicole said, "He's a fraud and an ex-con. How can anyone believe him? Besides, Aurora, you used to be so reckless. We really thought you had something to do with him. After all, what he said didn't sound like a lie, and you..."
"This man dared to slander my daughter. He can't be let off so easily. My daughter is innocent. How can we let anyone slander her?"
It was Dean speaking. He stepped forward now, clearly trying to mend his relationship with Aurora.
Aurora was valued by the Robinson family, and he couldn't let her be ruined.
Aurora understood Dean's intentions but didn't feel particularly grateful.
Ashley took a protective stance and said, "If anyone dares to throw dirt on Aurora again, I'll be the first to not let it slide."
This was not only protecting Aurora but also protecting the Robinson family's reputation.
Percy suddenly stepped forward and said, "Miss White, to err is human. The slanderer has been caught. We can't hold on to this forever. It would be ungracious."
Aurora coldly retorted, "Mr. Harris, are you saying that being gracious means letting people slander you, letting them get away with it, and condoning crime?"
It's easy to talk when you're not the one suffering.
Percy felt a bit embarrassed. He hadn't expected Aurora to hold on to this so tightly, not even showing him respect.
Of course, why should Aurora show him respect?
"How can you talk to Mr. Harris like that, Aurora?" Kevin walked over with a smile, his tone reproachful but without any real blame. "Slander damages your reputation. How you pursue it is your right."
In other words, what does it have to do with an outsider?
Implying that Percy was meddling.
Kevin wasn't afraid of offending Percy.
Aurora smiled and said, "Got it, Godfather. Slander and defamation, I will pursue this to the end. But today, everyone came to the banquet, and we can't let unrelated people spoil everyone's fun."
As long as everyone saw the true faces of Emily and Nicole, the goal was achieved.
Aurora glanced at the little boy. It was clear he wasn't Henry's child. Now that Henry was arrested, the boy's future was a problem.
Looking at the little boy, Aurora thought of the child she had never met, and her heart softened.
Aurora had a servant take the little boy to get something to eat and comfort him, while she went to change clothes. The ball was about to start.
Aurora took a moment to compose herself in the lounge and changed her clothes, but as she turned a corner, she was pulled into a solid chest.
