Chapter 92 Found the Children's Whereabouts
Aurora was too excited to trust Nicole, Emily, or even Dean. She needed to find the answers herself.
"Dr. Scott, are you available? Can we grab a meal together?" Aurora didn't directly ask about her child's whereabouts.
Grace Scott knew that after more than four years, the truth couldn't be avoided.
"Sure." Grace nodded.
Aurora took her to a restaurant near the hospital and ordered a few dishes. She said enthusiastically. "Dr. Scott, what do you like to eat? Feel free to order."
"Thank you. This is enough," Grace replied, not greedy. "Ms. White, you look even more beautiful than before. I almost didn't recognize you."
"Dr. Scott, I looked for you, but you resigned. I know it was because of my dad," Aurora said, looking at Grace. "Dr. Scott, let me get this straight. Can you tell me honestly if my child is alive or dead?"
Aurora's words made Grace's face show a hint of surprise. "Did Mr. White say the child was dead?"
"My dad said the child didn't survive after birth. Is that true?" Aurora stared at Grace, not daring to miss any reaction on her face.
Grace's hand holding the coffee cup trembled slightly, and she didn't dare to look at Aurora.
"When the child was born..." Grace paused.
Aurora urgently asked, "What happened when the child was born? Dr. Scott, I hope you can tell me the truth for the sake of being a mother. I worked so hard to bring my child into this world, and I haven't even seen my child. You are my only hope. You wouldn't bear to see me die without knowing if my child is alive or dead, would you?"
Grace, being a mother herself, naturally understood the feelings of a mother.
What happened back then was unethical, and Grace had felt guilty for years, always uneasy.
Grace hesitated and said, "Ms. White, your child didn't die. In fact, you had a pair of very lovely fraternal twin boys."
"What?"
Aurora was so shocked and excited that she couldn't speak. She looked at Grace, and tears started to flow.
Her child wasn't dead, and there were two of them.
When she was pregnant, she was confined by Dean and never had a prenatal checkup, so she didn't know she was carrying twins.
After Grace spoke, she felt a sense of relief, while Aurora's emotions were hard to calm.
She cried tears of joy, and she was somewhat incoherent, "My children are not dead. They're still alive, still alive."
Grace also felt heartbroken, her eyes moist. "They're not dead. Both boys are very healthy and beautiful."
"Where are they?" Aurora grabbed Grace's hand excitedly. "Dr. Scott, do you know where my children are?"
"Sorry, I have no idea," Grace shook her head in embarrassment. "We were only responsible for delivering the babies. The children were handed over to Mr. White."
She had been deceived.
Dean had lied to her for four years.
Grace remembered something and said, "But I do remember that one of your children had a round cyan birthmark behind his ear."
"A cyan birthmark?" Aurora was crying uncontrollably. She then grabbed Grace's hand. "Dr. Scott, thank you. Thank you so much."
Knowing that her children were still alive, and that they were two adorable sons, Aurora couldn't hold back anymore.
After leaving the restaurant, she went straight to the White Family.
It was already dark, and it was raining heavily.
Jack called, his voice weak, "Sis, where are you?"
"Jack, I have something to do. I'm going back to the White Family. I'll come see you after I'm done."
The White Family mansion was brightly lit.
In the pouring rain, Aurora got out of the car and rushed to the door, getting soaked in no time. Her expression was icy as she reached out to press the doorbell.
She kept pressing it, the urgent sound echoing through the rainy night.
Footsteps approached from inside, and Dean, wearing loungewear, opened the door. He was stunned to see the drenched Aurora.
Dean was holding a wine bottle, his face unshaven, looking very disheveled, and reeking of alcohol. Since finding out about Nicole's betrayal, he had been in a slump, wallowing in self-pity and drinking.
He had lived most of his life as a joke, meticulously calculating everything, only to be deceived by his wife for over twenty years. His confidence and self-respect were trampled, and Dean had fallen.
Aurora stared at Dean, her eyes colder than ice shards, roaring, "Where did you take my two children?"
Amidst wind and rain, Aurora stood outside the door, while Dean was inside.. Aurora's voice sounded like she was crying, filled with endless anger, her hands clenched into fists.
Dean was frightened by Aurora's stance and instinctively took a step back. "You know everything?"
If Aurora didn't know, she wouldn't know about the two children.
Aurora stepped inside, her gaze sharp as a knife. "Dad, you're the two children's grandpa. No matter how disgraceful, they are still two lives. How can you be so cold-blooded?"
Aurora advanced step by step, and Dean retreated step by step. "What did you do with them? Where are they?" Aurora cried, her expression and gaze cold.
Rainwater dripped from her face onto the floor, and no one knew if it was mixed with tears.
Dean's feet softened, and he fell to the ground, suddenly bursting into tears. "Aurora, I'm sorry., So sorry."
Dean hugged Aurora's legs, crying uncontrollably, partly due to the alcohol. Normally, Dean always had a stern fatherly demeanor in front of Aurora, only softening after Aurora became Kevin's goddaughter.
Aurora closed her eyes deeply, staring at Dean at her feet. "I just want to know where they are now. You've already made me miss more than four years of their lives. Do you want to separate us for a lifetime?"
"Aurora, those are illegitimate children. If you bring them back, you'll be ruined." Dean grabbed Aurora's pants. "Aurora, listen to me. Forget about it. That rapist has already been caught. Let this matter go. Can you really raise the children of a rapist?"
"They are my children." Aurora's eyes were bloodshot. She squatted down, grabbing Dean's collar. "I'll ask you one last time, where are they? Otherwise, you just wait for the White Family to break down. I will never take over the mess you leave behind."
The White Group was Dean's belief for decades. Even if he was in a slump, he didn't truly want to see the company break down.
Dean answered, "I don't know. I had someone handle it. They said they were left at an orphanage."
Aurora asked excitedly, "What's the name of the orphanage? Where is it?"
"Angel Baby Orphanage." Dean, drunk, his face red, stood up unsteadily. "Aurora, think carefully. If you find those two children, your future will be ruined. Who would want you with two kids?"
"My past was ruined by you. How I live my future is none of your business."
