Chapter 328: "Lori, please be more mindful."

Selene wanted to see Aurora embarrass herself, but instead, she witnessed their loving interaction.

Finding a rich and handsome husband is one thing, but the key is that he dotes on Aurora so much.

They hadn't met John before, but they had heard his name in magazines or on TV. Rumor had it that John was cold and ruthless, decisive in his actions. They never expected him to have such a gentle side.

The rumors didn't match the reality.

Selene was captivated.

Aurora replied indifferently, "Old classmates."

With just a few simple words, John could tell that Aurora didn't care for these people.

"Mr. Lewis, my name is Selene Harrison. Back in school, I was the closest to Aurora. We even sat next to each other."

Selene enthusiastically extended her hand, her smile beaming, her posture seductive.

Who was she trying to seduce?

Aurora remained silent, wanting to see how John would handle it.

John didn't extend his hand, acting not to notice her: "Selene Harrison, hmm, I'll remember that."

"Mr. Lewis, you can just call me Selene." Selene awkwardly withdrew her hand, about to sit down.

John smiled politely and remarked, "Today is the 2,190th day since my wife and I first met."

It was clear he wanted to have a private dinner date with Aurora, excluding everyone else.

Selene blushed, feeling she couldn't hide her embarrassment this time.

Upon reflecting on John's words, it was another sign of his love for Aurora.

Most people celebrate anniversaries or hit the100-day mark. Who counts 2,190 days as an anniversary?

If this isn't love, what is?

From the time John and Aurora first met, it really had been that long.

Even as shameless as Selene was, she felt too embarrassed to sit down.

Everyone was envious; Aurora seemed to lead such a charmed life, and they had no idea she had known John for so long.

If they calculated it, Aurora must have known John since college.

They remembered Aurora took a six-month break from school and then returned to continue her studies.

During that time, Aurora was pregnant with Summer and Loren. After giving birth, she resumed her education and then went straight to work, losing touch with these classmates.

Selene awkwardly stood up, and Maia interjected, "Aurora, we'll leave now and let you enjoy your meal with Mr. Lewis."

"Okay." Aurora took an invitation from her bag: "Maia, my husband and I are getting married on June 6th. If you're free, please come."

Maia was flattered: "I'll definitely come, Aurora. Congratulations on finding your Prince Charming."

Out of twenty or thirty classmates, Aurora only gave an invitation to Maia, making the others feel very awkward.

Earlier in the private room, except for Maia, these people had been mocking and belittling Aurora.

Seeing the invitation in Maia's hand, Selene was very jealous.

John and Aurora's wedding would surely be attended by elites and wealthy businessmen.

If Selene could go, with her looks and figure, she could easily find a rich husband.

Selene wanted to go to the wedding to find a wealthy man. If she had known Aurora was John's wife, she wouldn't have targeted her.

"Selene, let's go. Why are you still standing here?" Maia reminded her.

Staying any longer would only be more embarrassing.

Selene reluctantly bit her lip and walked out, followed by the others.

Outside the restaurant, Selene pulled Maia aside and pleaded with a smile, "Maia, can you give me that invitation? I'll buy it from you for five thousand dollars. Is that enough?"

Maia didn't understand Selene's intention: "This is an invitation from Aurora. What do you want it for?"

Selene replied, "Maia, I'm almost thirty. Once a woman hits thirty, she's considered past her prime. I won't beat around the bush; I'm dead set on getting married this year."O

Maia suddenly understood: "You're looking for a partner, but didn't you say your boyfriend is a big boss?"

"What big boss? He just owns a small coffee shop." Selene clarified, "Maia, everyone was showing off earlier. How much of it was true? You must have noticed. I was just going along."

Maia , fully aware of the situation, responded firmly: "I won't sell the invitation. Aurora gave it to me out of respect. I can't betray her kindness."

Maia walked away, leaving Selene helpless.

John and Aurora finished their meal and left the restaurant, with Aurora driving.

On the way, John asked, "Honey, you seemed a bit unhappy with your classmates earlier."

"We never got along well before, and we haven't kept in touch since graduation. That Selene even tried to hit on you. How could I be happy?"

John chuckled, "Honey, it seems you weren't very popular before. Out of thirty classmates, you didn't get along with any of them."

Aurora snorted, "In the wild, tigers roam alone while sheep flock together. Get it?."

John nodded in agreement, "You are indeed a fierce tiger."

Aurora shot him a look, "John, are you looking for a beating?"

"Honey, I miss our sons." John quickly changed the subject, "Have Trey and Jax grown taller?"

Night fell.

Aurora, feeling uneasy, called Lori, but no one answered. She then called Todd.

"Todd, is Lori still with you?"

"Yes." Todd glanced at Lori and Allan at the next table and spoke to Aurora on the phone, "She's trying to talk some sense into Allan."

Aurora was immediately worried, "This is reckless, Todd. If anything happens to Lori, I'll hold you responsible."

"Mrs. Lewis, I'm helpless too. Lori acts all weak in front of me. You know I'm soft-hearted. I can't even squash an ant, let alone handle this kind of situation."

Aurora glanced at John beside her. He had also learned to act weak.

Gentleness is a weapon.

Aurora instantly understood Todd.

"Call me later to let me know she's safe."

"Will do!"

After hanging up, Todd kept a close eye on Lori and Allan at the next table, also watching the surroundings to prevent anyone from capturing Lori.

At the next table, Lori's negotiation with Allan had failed.

Lori admitted defeat, "Mr. Jennings, stop fooling me. How could you not know where Ava is being held?"

"I really don't know." Allan had been repeating this all night, "Lori, I'm currently suspended. I'm not wearing my uniform. Considering I brought you and Ava into the police station, I owe you a favor. I won't arrest you this time."

Lori offered her hands, "You might as well arrest me, as long as you release Ava."

Allan shook his head expressionlessly, "No."

Lori's temper finally flared, "Damn it, Mr. Jennings, I've never begged anyone like this. If you don't tell me where Ava is, I'll steal your man and break you and Todd up."
