Chapter 75 A Trap Within a Trap

Emily's call invigorated Aurora.

"Okay, I'll be right there," she said.

Aurora felt both excited and conflicted. If she could find that man, she might find the child, but the thought of facing that man made Aurora hesitant.

What happened five years ago was a deep secret in Aurora's heart. That man had raped her.

Even after all this time, the scar in her heart had never healed.

"Aurora, what's wrong? Who was that?" Sophia asked worriedly, noticing Aurora's pale face.

"It was Emily," Aurora said, "She found the man from five years ago. We're meeting at Redwood Street Corner in an hour. I have to go."

Sophia's expression turned serious, and she blurted out, "Aurora, why are you going to see that rapist? Are you crazy? Meeting him in the middle of the night is like walking into a trap. What good intentions could Emily possibly have?"

"I know what I'm doing. You take Loren back to the Robinsons," Aurora then turned to Loren and said, "Loren, go with Aunt Sophia. I'll be back soon."

"Okay," Loren agreed, uncharacteristically obedient for once.

Aurora was a bit surprised. Loren usually wouldn't agree so readily.

Time was running out, and Aurora hurried to Redwood Street Corner after giving her instructions.

Sophia wanted to stop her, but Loren tugged at her hand and shook his head.

Sophia didn't understand what that meant. After Aurora left, Loren quickly jumped off the chair and said, "Aunt Sophia, can I borrow your phone?"

"What do you need the phone for?" Sophia asked, but still handed it to Loren.

"Sis is going to meet a bad guy, so of course, we need reinforcements," Loren said, rolling his eyes at Sophia with a look of disdain.

Loren didn't understand what a rapist was; he just knew his sister was in danger.

Sophia felt a bit embarrassed. Loren had once again looked down on her intelligence, or lack thereof.

"What kind of reinforcements can a kid like you call? Loren, give me the phone. I'll call some friends..." Sophia was anxious. Aurora was meeting that man from five years ago, and she had never known Emily to not have cruel intentions. Aurora was bound to suffer.

Before Sophia could finish, Loren had already made the call. "Uncle, bring some people to Redwood Street Corner..."

Redwood Street Corner.

The place was a bit remote and very quiet, with only a few joggers passing by occasionally.

When Aurora arrived, she didn't see Emily.

After looking around, she called her.

Not far away, in a yellow Ferrari, Emily answered Aurora's call. From her vantage point, she could see Aurora standing by the roadside, looking around.

Emily said, "Sis, wait a bit. We'll be there soon."

After hanging up, Emily's lips curled into a triumphant smile.

Emily took out $50,000 from her bag and handed it to the man beside her. "This is the deposit. You'll get the other half after it's done. I want a high-definition video."

"No problem," the man said happily, checking the money. "We've worked together before. Don't worry, I'll make sure everything goes smoothly."

This man was the same one Emily had found to assaultAurora five years ago. He was named Mark Adams. He was a thug and a loafer. He was also currently short on cash, so Emily's offer was a godsend.

$50,000 for one job. Only a fool would refuse.

Mark also saw Aurora in the distance. He had regretted not succeeding five years ago. He didn't know what went wrong, but Emily had still paid him, saying he did a good job.

With money in hand, Mark naturally never revealed the truth.

Now, five years later, Emily had come to him again with another job and more money.

He felt lucky.

Mark pocketed the money, rubbed his hands together, and walked lecherously towards Aurora.

Emily sat in the car, her face showing a satisfied smile.

'Aurora, how dare you compete with me for Daniel's affections. I'll make you relive the pain from five years ago,' Emily thought.

Aurora glanced at her watch. It was exactly ten o'clock.

Footsteps approached from behind, and Aurora became cautious.

"Miss White, long time no see," Mark said, with his hands in his pockets. He leered at Aurora. "You look even more beautiful than before."

Aurora turned to look at the man. Memories from five years ago flashed through her mind.

"It's you," she said.

Aurora hadn't seen the man's face clearly back then, but his tone and build were familiar.

"It's me," Mark said, stroking his chin. "I heard you've been looking for me. I didn't expect you to miss me so much, Miss White. Actually, I've missed your body too."

Mark moved closer to Aurora. Her faint fragrance, making him impatient to get closer.

Mark lunged at Aurora, hugging her. "Miss White, time is precious. Let's not waste it."

Before he could finish, his words caught in his throat, for he felt a cold knife against his waist.

Aurora sneered and asked, "Did you really think I'd fall into your trap like I did back then? Tell me, where is the child? Is he with you?"

"Child?" Mark had never touched Aurora. How would he know whose child she had?

"You'd better think carefully before you answer," Aurora said, pressing the knife lower, threatening his groin. "If my hand slips, it won't be pretty."

"Wait, wait, wait. Be careful. If you hurt me, there will be consequences," Mark's voice cracked with fear as he blurted out a lie. "I threw the child into an orphanage."

"The child is alive? Which orphanage? Tell me," Aurora demanded, her emotions running high. She didn't care that the child was this lecherous man's; she just wanted to find the child.

"I can't remember right now," Mark said slyly, "Miss White, put the knife away first. Let me think."

"Okay." In her eagerness for more information, Aurora agreed readily and put the knife away.

Mark was surprised but too blinded by lust to think much of it.

The place was so remote, with a small forest nearby. He didn't believe Aurora could do anything to him.

Lust emboldened him.

Mark's eyes roved over Aurora's curvy figure, his mind filled with wicked thoughts.

The wind carried Aurora's unique scent to his nose, and Mark couldn't hold back any longer. He wanted to drag Aurora into the small forest.

Just as Mark was about to make a move, Aurora sidestepped and kicked him in the groin.

"Ah!"

Mark screamed, but before he could finish, two men rushed out from behind Aurora's car, covered his mouth, and quickly dragged him into the car.

Aurora got into the car as well, and it immediately drove into the depths of the small forest.

Not far away, Emily couldn't see clearly but noticed Aurora's car driving into the forest.
