Chapter 241 Aurora Pranks Richard
Aurora never thought Richard, the fugitive, would sneak in dressed as a delivery guy.
"Gideon, Lachlan..." Aurora tried to call for help but then remembered they were in the training room teaching Summer and Loren how to shoot.
She was just a bit too late.
Before she could shout, Richard clamped a cloth over her mouth and nose, and she blacked out almost instantly.
He quickly loaded her into the delivery van and drove off like nothing happened.
When he passed the security guard at the gate, Richard even gave him a friendly nod and handed over a cigarette, saying, "Thanks for your hard work. Want a cigarette?"
The guard smiled, letting him through. "You're quite generous. Those are some fancy cigarettes. Does working as a delivery driver pay well enough to afford them?"
Richard grinned, "Not bad." Just then, he saw a car driven by Sam approaching, so he quickly lowered his head and pulled down his cap, saying, "Gotta run, still got deliveries to make."
As the van rolled past the guard, the guard noticed someone inside through the slightly open window and joked, "Bringing your wife to work, huh?"
"Yeah, she loves spending time with me," Richard replied, closing the window tight and driving away.
While passing by the van, Sam glanced at it but didn't recognize Richard because of the disguise and the distance.
Back at Meadowbrook Villa, Sam didn't notice Aurora was missing at first.
When John came home that evening, Summer and Loren were just coming out of the training room.
John asked, "Where's your mom?"
Loren replied, "She might be sleeping in her room."
John checked all the rooms upstairs but couldn't find her. He asked the servants, but they hadn't seen her either.
Starting to panic, John called Aurora, but her phone was ringing inside the house.
Aurora got missing at home!
Summer suggested, "Maybe Mom went out with Sophia or Lori."
John then called Sophia and Lori.
Sophia said, "Aurora's not with me, Mr. Lewis. I wouldn't dare take your wife out."
Lori snapped, "John, seriously? You can't keep track of your wife and now you're asking me? "
John regretted calling them.
"What's going on? Everyone's gathered in the living room. When's dinner? I came just in time to mooch a meal," Todd said, walking in right on cue.
John, frustrated, snapped, "No dinner. If you want to eat, go back to The Smith Villa."
Then he headed to check the surveillance footage; the house was covered in cameras.
Todd, puzzled, looked at Summer. "What's up with your dad? Why is he so worked up?"
Summer shrugged. "Mom's missing. If we don't find her, who knows what he would, but there's definitely no dinner tonight."
"Your mom's not a three-year-old; she can't just go missing," Todd said, heading to the kitchen. "Madison, I'm hungry. What's for dinner tonight..."
Before he could finish, Loren's voice came from the living room. "A bad guy took Mom."
Todd was shocked. It seemed something did happen.
In the surveillance footage John pulled up, they saw Aurora being knocked out and taken away by Richard in a delivery van. But the camera angle didn't show Richard's face clearly.
Sam, seeing the van, remembered. "Mr. Lewis, I saw that van at the gate when I came back."
But he hadn't thought Aurora would be inside.
Todd squeezed in and, after looking closely, said, "Mr. Lewis, doesn't this guy look like Richard?"
Though the face wasn't clear, the body shape was familiar to those who knew him.
John shot a cold look at Todd and said, "Anyone can see that. Everyone, find out where Richard is right now."
With that, John started tracking Richard's movements.
If Aurora was in Richard's hands, things could get really bad.
John called Lori again.
Lori, thinking it was about Aurora again, sighed, "John, I told you, Aurora's not with me..."
John cut her off, "Aurora was taken by Richard."
"What?" Lori's voice shot up. "What's Richard up to now?"
John said, "You know Richard better than I do. Find him, or Aurora's in serious trouble."
"Got it. I'll look into it now." Lori stopped joking around.
Nearby, Ava asked, "Why did Mr. Lee take Aurora?"
Lori replied, "Who knows? Richard sent Jack to prison, and now he's taken Aurora. Ava, we might be next."
Night fell.
In a small motel on the outskirts of town.
In a room on the third floor, Aurora lay on the bed, hands and feet tied. She slowly came to. Seeing her surroundings, she felt a wave of panic.
The door opened, and Richard walked in with a cigar in his mouth and a cup of instant noodles in his hand. "You're awake. Just made this for you. Eat up." He placed the noodles on the table. "This place is basic, nothing else to eat, so make do."
"Why did you bring me here?" Aurora refused to eat and asked, "Aren't you afraid of getting caught? The police are all over you."
"What's there to be afraid of? I have you now." Richard said, taking a puff of his cigar. "Aurora, you didn't cooperate. I didn't want to hurt you, but you and John forced me into this, so don't blame me."
"This is who you really are." Aurora sneered, "Mr. Lee, you've hidden it well."
To Aurora, Richard was no longer her uncle.
Richard gave a sinister smile as he sat on the old sofa. "Aurora, I treat you quite well, right? I handed over Wolfpack to you. If you follow orders, with your skills, you could easily defeat The Shadow of Darkness and Nightfall."
Aurora interrupted him, "You want me to be your puppet, to go against my father and my man, for your benefit. How considerate of you."
If John hadn't been devoted to Aurora, and if she weren't Alexander's daughter, Richard wouldn't have valued her so much.
"Aurora, I've told you, Alexander isn't your father. That was a lie I told him. I care for you. Why would you think I don't? You've disappointed me." Richard said, as if Aurora had really wronged him.
Aurora narrowed her eyes and sneered, "Mr. Lee, who do you think I believe, you or my mom?"
Richard's expression darkened and he asked, "What do you mean? What did your mom tell you?"
But Aurora remained silent, her eyes closed.
Richard, puzzled, stood up to approach her.
Suddenly, Aurora started trembling as if possessed. Her eyes snapped open, filled with a fierce look, making her appearance even more terrifying in the dim light.
Aurora, with vacant eyes, mechanically spoke, "Richard, you have harmed me. Do you want to harm my daughter too?"
Hearing her words, Richard was so startled he nearly collapsed. "You are Wendy?"
Aurora continued mechanically, "Yes, I am Wendy."
Richard denied, "No, Wendy is dead. You're Aurora. Stop playing these tricks on me. Do you think I believe in such things?"
Aurora asked, "Richard, do you remember giving me abortion pills twenty-five years ago? One of the two children in my womb was killed by you. You deserve to be cut into pieces, Richard, stop now."
Hearing this, Richard was so scared he really fell to the ground.
No one knew about the abortion pills except him and Wendy.
