Chapter 316: A Dark and Windy Night, A Honey Trap

Allan got caught up in the whole Lori and Ava mess and ended up getting suspended while they investigate.

When Lori saw the news online, she just sneered, then quietly left the Lewis family's villa with her backpack.

She couldn't drag Aurora into this.

At that moment, Aurora was discussing with John how to help Lori, completely unaware that Lori had already left.

Aurora noticed that almost no one online was speaking up for Lori and Ava, which she found very suspicious.

She asked, "John, can you find out who leaked the information?"

Aurora was sure it wasn't Allan. If Allan had done it, he wouldn't have waited until now, and exposing the matter wouldn't benefit him either.

John's hands flew over the keyboard as he traced the IP address, his expression serious. Soon, he found it.

"Aurora, it's in the suburbs again," John pondered. "Jack disappeared in the suburbs before, and then the Lori and Ava incident was exposed. Only that person could have done this."

"Richard?" Aurora walked over to the computer and glanced at the IP address, her brow furrowing. "Why would he ruin Lori like this? What's his goal?"

The two exchanged a look, and soon, Aurora figured it out.

"He doesn't want to ruin Lori; he wants to force Lori onto his path. Lori and Ava are quite skilled, which would be a great asset for him."

Aurora was furious. "So ruthless."

"I'll have someone follow the IP address, but I don't have high hopes." John spoke.

The person might have already moved.

Aurora suddenly had a flash of inspiration and came up with a plan. "Honey, we're always on the defensive, always a step behind. Why don't we turn the tables?"

John knew Aurora had an idea and asked, "What do you have in mind?"

"Draw them out."

John raised an eyebrow. "You plan to use yourself as bait?"

Aurora smiled and hooked her arm around John's neck, grinning mischievously. "Honey, how could I be more tempting bait than you? You should sacrifice yourself and use your charm to lure Sandra out. Once Sandra shows up, finding Richard will be easy."

John was both amused and exasperated. "Aurora, I feel like I'm in over my head."

"It's not a feeling; you have caught in a trap," Aurora patted John's shoulder. "Leave this to you. Sometimes a little sacrifice is necessary to show your dedication."

"Honey, my leg hurts. I can't make that sacrifice."

Women always say one thing and mean another. John wasn't falling for it. If he really made that sacrifice, he'd definitely have to beg for forgiveness later.

"Honey, It's time to man up and take responsibility." Aurora gave John a disdainful look. "I'll have Linda announce your schedule. You definitely can't do it in Silvercrest City. Go to Peach Blossom Mountain. I'll have Linda emphasize that you're going alone. If you're alone, Sandra will definitely follow."

John thought, can he refuse?

Aurora acted quickly, calling Linda to have her post John's schedule on the AJ Group's official website. Then she called Sam and Tyler over. "You two take him to Peach Blossom Mountain. He can stay for a few days. Once you drop him off, hide and don't show yourselves, or Sandra won't come out."

Sam and Tyler both looked at John.

John explained, "Mrs. Lewis is using me as bait to lure Sandra out."

Immediately, Sam and Tyler felt very sympathetic towards John.

Sam comforted him, "Mr. Lewis, don't worry. We'll protect your chastity and won't let Sandra succeed."

"I think you two need a lesson," John made a kicking motion, but it was just a feint. Sam dodged quickly.

Sam laughed, "Mr. Lewis, calm down."

Tyler turned to Aurora, "Mrs. Lewis, we'll take Mr. Lewis now."

Aurora waved her hand. "Go on."

And so, John was mercilessly sent to Peach Blossom Mountain by Sam and Tyler.

When Summer came home from school, she happened to see this and asked, "Mommy, where's Daddy going?"

"I sent your daddy to Peach Blossom Mountain to lure Sandra out." Aurora replied.

"Mommy, Daddy's leg is injured. If Sandra forces him, he won't be able to resist. Wouldn't that be counterproductive?"

Aurora waved her hand dismissively. "No way. Your daddy would rather cut off his own reproductive organ than let a villain succeed."

Summer immediately felt very sorry for her daddy.

After sending John off, Aurora went to find Lori, only to discover that Lori was missing.

She quickly called Lori, but the phone was off.

Could she really be planning a jailbreak?

This is no joke.

"Lachlan and Gideon, come with me."

Aurora hurried out. She had to stop Lori, or else Ava wouldn't be rescued, and Lori could also end up in danger.

As night fell.

Aurora, Lachlan, and Gideon staked out in front of the police station. After waiting for over an hour, she finally saw Lori.

Just like when she first met Lori, Lori was dressed in tight red leather, sitting on a big tree in front of the police station.

She was observing.

Aurora quickly got out of the car. The gate was closed, and no one was coming out. She had to stop Lori before she caused any trouble.

Before Aurora could get there, a flashy sports car suddenly screeched to a halt under the tree.

The car door opened, and out stepped Todd and his driver.

With both hands in casts, Todd couldn't drive.

Todd looked up and stared at Lori in the tree. "Get down!"

Lori was surprised to see Todd there. She swung her legs but didn't come down, not even acknowledging Todd. She stood up in the tree, intending to climb over the wall.

Just as Lori was about to climb over the high wall, she felt a sudden pain in her butt.

Todd was jabbing her with a stick from below.

Lori snapped, "Todd, are you crazy?"

"I'm definitely not crazy, but if you climb in there, you'll lose your life for sure." Todd, struggling to hold the stick with his weak hands, poked Lori's butt again. "Get down and come with me. I have a way to save Ava."

"You're with Allan. I'd be crazy to trust you." Lori kicked the stick away.

At that moment, the police station lit up, and the gate opened.

One police car after another drove out.

Todd nonchalantly got out of the car and walked over. "Barry, heading out on a mission this late?"

Todd was familiar with most of the people at the station.

Barry sighed, "Yeah, it's a grind. I was on vacation and got called back. It was better when Ava and Lori were here. They could do the work of ten people. Now that they're in trouble, we're swamped."

"You guys have it tough," Todd spoke, fishing for details. "Barry, how's Ava's case going?"

"It's a mess," Barry replied. "With such a big issue, it won't be resolved quickly. She's already been taken away."

"Taken away? She's not here?" Todd was surprised. He glanced up at the tree instinctively and realized Lori had already gone inside.
