Chapter 260 Lori is Leaving

It turned out that Richard always thought Jack was Wendy's kid. While he was scheming against Jack, he was also plotting against Aurora.

He wanted to plant seeds of hatred in Aurora's heart, making her despise Alexander and seek revenge.

If he couldn't have something, he'd destroy it.

That was Richard .

He not only ruined his mother but also wanted to destroy Aurora and Jack.

But in the end, he got what was coming to him. Richard never expected his elaborate plans would end up hurting his son.

Aurora stood up and slammed her hands on the table. "Richard, I don't have time for your nonsense. You know exactly what happened between you and Jessica. Own up to your sins. Don't think you can deny that Jack is your son by running away.. If Jack and Lori knew they had a father like you, they'd be even more disgusted."

"Jack and Lori, my kids? I've never had any children. How could that be?" Richard thought it was the biggest joke ever. "Jessica's been dead for years. How would you know? Did she tell you in a dream? Aurora, you must be lying. I'm not falling for it."

Richard laughed, refusing to admit the fact.

"Hank told me. Do you really want me to slap a paternity test in your face before you believe it?" Aurora was furious, itching to hit Richard.

"Honey, calm down." John gently patted her back. "Take a breath. It is stifling and not good for you and the baby. Let me handle this and you can go out for a while to have some fresh air."

Aurora didn't want to face Richard anymore, so she left.

As soon as she stepped out, she heard Richard's screams from inside.

The screams lasted for several minutes, then John came out, dusting off imaginary dirt from his clothes. "Let's go. He believes it now."

"Honey, you're so violent, but I like it."

John, in a good mood, whispered in Aurora's ear, "I knew you'd be satisfied with my outburst. I'll work out more before the baby is born to make you even more satisfied."

"John, you've changed." Aurora didn't even call him "honey" and gave him a disdainful glance. "You're so vulgar."

John looked at her with a mischievous smile. "I need to protect you both. There's nothing wrong with working out. Aurora, what are you thinking?"

Aurora blushed and turned away. "Let's go home."

"Honey, wait." John's eyes were full of affection as he quickly caught up.

Aurora asked, "Do you think Richard will change his statement and tell the truth? Do we need to send him a paternity test?"

"Aurora, men aren't stupid. They are quite clear if a child is theirs. He's old now and suddenly finds out he has a son and daughter. If he doesn't want to be childless, he won't drag Jack down with him."

At this, Aurora immediately cast a disdainful glance at John. "Then why didn't you recognize Summer and Loren earlier?"

John realized he had said something wrong. "Who told you to leave me so early back then? Besides, you didn't recognize me as the father either."

John had gotten smarter and learned to question her.

"It doesn't make any sense, you don't remember meeting me. Why should I remember you?" Aurora had her logic. Besides, the lights were too dim at that time, and she had entered the wrong room.

Women were always right.

John quickly changed the subject. "I had Grandpa pick a date for Summer and Loren to officially return to the family."

The bigger the family, the more rules and traditions they had.

The Lewis family was super traditional and really valued bloodlines.

"What date?" Aurora was eager for Summer and Loren to be recognized by the Lewis family and become family members.

"The 9th of this month," John said. "Grandpa already confirmed the date. He'll announce Summer and Loren's identities then."

"So soon?" Aurora frowned. "By the way, the 8th is the day the Smith family is marrying off their daughter. I didn't even know Todd had a sister named Amelia."

"She's the Smith family's illegitimate daughter."

Aurora nodded. "Big families sure have a lot of secrets."

They left the detention center and headed home. The next day, they got news from the police that Richard had changed his statement. He admitted that Jack was framed and that the warehouse goods had nothing to do with him.

John was right. Bloodlines were important to men. No matter what, they wouldn't harm their kids.

That same day, Jack was released without any charges.

At the same time, there was an update that Emily was set to be released on the 8th.

When Aurora heard this, she couldn't help but think the police had picked a dramatic date. Daniel was getting married on the 8th, and if Emily was released that day, the wedding would be quite dramatic.

In no time, it was the day of 8th. Aurora thought Lori would be excited, but Lori seemed uninterested. "Aurora, I'm not going with you. Ava and I booked plane tickets. We're flying to Moscow tonight."

"So sudden?" Aurora felt something was off with Lori. "Todd will definitely be there today. Weren't you planning to give him a hard time? I'll help you today. How about that?"

"Forget it, it's not worth it." Lori looked indifferent, like nothing mattered. "Ava and I are going to Moscow to see the snow."

"When will you be back?"

"I don't know." Lori put her hand on Aurora's shoulder. "Ava and I have been wandering around for years, going wherever we please. That's the life I want."

In other words, they might not come back.

Aurora felt a pang of sadness. "Lori, are you sure you're okay?"

"What could be wrong with me?" Lori rubbed her nose and smiled. "You and John should go to the wedding. By the way, if you ever have a wedding, let me know. I'll be there if I'm free."

With that, she left with Ava, carefree as ever.

The Smith family wedding was held at the Century Hotel.

When Aurora and John arrived, Todd was greeting guests.

He had heard Lori was coming, but hadn't seen her.

After Aurora and John went inside, he craned his neck to look behind them and muttered, "Why is someone missing?"

Loren exposed Todd's thoughts and said, "Todd, stop looking. Lori didn't come. She and Ava left."

Summer added, "Their flight is at 8 PM. If you go to the airport now, you might still catch them."

Todd was initially surprised but then let out a long sigh of relief, like he had dodged a bullet. "Why go to the airport? It's good that the fierce woman is gone. I don't have to worry about being troubled."

Hearing Todd's words, Summer couldn't help but shake his head. "You really deserve to be single."

Loren said, "When I grow up, I'm going to marry Lori."

Todd laughed, "Then you're getting yourself a stepmother who will beat you every day."

"Todd, you don't understand. That's how lovers get along with each other."
