Chapter 261 Aurora Was Pulled to Jump Off the Building by Emily

One had to admit that kids nowadays really knew everything. As Lloyd arrived, Summer and Loren followed him inside.

Todd stood there, somewhat distracted while greeting guests. After a while, he glanced at the time and saw it was almost eight o'clock. "Dad, Mom, you guys handle the guests. I have something to take care of."

With that, Todd quickly left. The Smith family's wedding was quite grand and lively.

Kevin and Ashley also came. Upon arrival, Ashley directly went to find Aurora. She cared deeply for Aurora and always treated her like her own daughter.

With Ashley around, Aurora didn't feel bored.

This was Aurora's first time attending such a big event as Mrs. Lewis.

Aurora's baby bump was already quite noticeable. Even in loose clothing, it was easy to discern that she was pregnant.

Many people came up to congratulate Aurora, openly or subtly praising her for her good fortune in marrying so well.

In such a setting, superficial pleasantries were inevitable.

Aurora gave a faint smile, and just as she was about to speak, John suddenly appeared behind her. He gently held her shoulders and said, "Marrying Aurora is the biggest luck I've had in my life."

Everyone thought that Aurora had married above her station, elevating herself by joining the esteemed Lewis family, yet John's words let everyone know that he had pursued Aurora, making everyone even more envious.

Aurora turned to John, gently and understandingly saying, "You go chat with them. I have Ashley here with me."

Aurora showed John quite a respect on this occasion, becoming as meek as a lamb.

John felt a bit unaccustomed to it and leaned down to give a soft laugh. "Honey, I still prefer your feisty side."

"Don't provoke me." Aurora gave John a look as if she was saying, "If you provoke me again, I'll hit you."

Only then did John contentedly join the group of men.

Lloyd spent the entire evening showing off Loren and Summer. "These are my grandkids, Summer and Loren."

At Lloyd's age, it wasn't about who had more money or higher status, but who had more grandchildren and whose grandchildren were more accomplished.

Previously, at Lloyd's birthday party, Summer and Loren had already made an appearance. Their looks were impeccable, combining the best features of Aurora and John, making them look like little porcelain dolls.

Even though it was the Smith family's wedding, Aurora and her kids almost became the focus.

"The bride and groom are coming." Someone shouted, and many people turned to the entrance.

Amelia, in her wedding dress, was led by her bridesmaids to the back lounge. Daniel, in his groom's suit, looked dashing and elegant.

Today, Daniel looked much more pleasing to the eye.

"Daniel looks quite decent today." Sophia said as she approached Aurora. "I have to admit, even though he's a scumbag, he's indeed handsome."

The Smith family and the Garcia family had business dealings recently, so the Garcia family was also invited to the wedding.

Aurora said, "If he didn't have such a good-looking face, I wouldn't have been interested in him back then."

Sophia complained, "Aurora, you care about looks the most, right?"

Aurora suddenly felt a chill behind her and added, "But no one is as good-looking as my husband. My husband is not only handsome but also excellent in every way, gentlemanly and generous, never petty." With that, she turned around, and upon seeing John behind her, she pretended to be surprised. "Oh, honey, when did you get behind me?"

Seeing her feigned surprise, John felt a sense of déjà vu.

He remembered that he had once used this trick on Aurora.

He could tell that Aurora knew he was behind her and changed her words accordingly.

Yet since Aurora praised him for being generous and never petty, he couldn't get angry. "Just passing by." John took a glass of wine and said politely, "You two carry on."

"Okay." Aurora said with a sweet smile.

After John left, Sophia patted her chest and let out a relieved breath. "That was close, Aurora. Thanks for your quick reaction."

"Of course." Aurora smiled proudly, "Using the same trick on him."

Sophia didn't get it. "What do you mean?"

"You'll understand when you have a boyfriend."

Just then, Leo came over. "Sophia, there you are."

Seeing Leo, Sophia's face immediately fell. "Aurora, I'm going to the restroom."

As Sophia left, Aurora asked Leo, "What's going on with you two?"

As others pursued the women they were interested in, their relationships typically blossomed. But why wasn't there any progress after Leo had been chasing Sophia for so long? Their relationship had even worsened.

Leo scratched his head, "How would I know what you women think? I really can't figure out a woman's mind. I've been caring for her in every possible way and cut off all contact with other women, but she still doesn't appreciate it."

"How do you care for her?" Aurora was curious.

"Sophia had her period recently and experienced menstrual cramps, so I looked up how to deal with it online."

"And then?"

"I told her to drink more hot water." Leo said.

Aurora rolled her eyes, feeling speechless.

"Sophia had the same expression as you. Then I suggested getting some painkillers, yet she blocked my contact." Leo was frustrated. "Aurora, why are girls so hard to please?"

Aurora felt quite helpless. "Why didn't you suggest getting some hemostatic medicine."

Leo slapped his forehead. "I get it. I should get hemostatic medicine. Thanks, Aurora. I'll go now."

Aurora watched in disbelief as Leo rushed out to buy medicine. He was hopeless.

Aurora didn't have time to call Leo back; he was already out of sight.

Aurora felt very fortunate that John had high emotional and intellectual intelligence. Otherwise, she would be as pathetic as Sophia.

Since Aurora had a lot of juice, she went to the restroom.

But unfortunately, as she passed by a side hall, she ran into an acquaintance, Emily.

Emily was indeed restless. She was just released yet immediately sought trouble.

Emily was sneaking around, seemingly heading to the bride's lounge. Now that Amelia was marrying Daniel, she was Emily's rival.

Emily tried to push open the lounge door but was stopped by Daniel, who didn't recognize her at first and asked, "Are you a friend of Amelia's?"

Hearing Daniel's voice, Emily got too excited as she turned around, and tears welled up in her eyes. "Daniel."

What a heart-wrenching voice.

"Why are you here? Get out of here. Today is my wedding day. Don't cause trouble." Yet Daniel's expression instantly changed, and he tried to pull Emily away. "If you ruin my wedding, see how I'll deal with you."

Aurora didn't want to get involved or watch the drama and tried to leave quietly, But before she could take a few steps, Emily ran over.

She grabbed Aurora's arm, and said viciously to Daniel, "If you marry Amelia, I'll jump off with Aurora. You don't care about me, but I don't believe you don't care about Aurora."

Aurora widened her eyes, feeling a bit speechless.

Damn it, what did this have to do with her?
