Chapter 19: The Counterattack
Aurora was just making things up.
She had no solution; all she wanted was to lure Dean out and watch the show unfold.
Since Aurora refused to return to the White family for dinner last time, she hadn't been in touch with them, and surprisingly, Nicole and Emily hadn't caused any trouble either.
Dean, overwhelmed, heard Aurora had a solution and agreed hastily, "Alright, Dad will come to you. You haven't finished work yet, right?"
'Dad? How ironic. His attitude changed so quickly,' Aurora thought.
"No need. I'll send you the address. Just go there directly," Aurora said and hung up. She took a cab to the restaurant where John had taken her before, an Italian place.
Aurora wasn't a member and couldn't enter, so she had to ask Sophia for help.
When Aurora arrived, Sophia was waiting at the entrance, "Aurora, here you are. I just saw your stepmother go in."
"No rush; an important guest hasn't arrived yet," Aurora said with a cunning smile, "Tonight, Nicole will get a little punishment."
Sophia was excited, "Aurora, what are you planning? The private room is booked; it's the Narcissus Pavilion."
Just then, a familiar car pulled up.
Aurora smiled, her grin full of calculation, "The stage is set."
Aurora pulled Sophia aside to hide until the car went in, then they came out.
Sophia glanced at the car and saw who was inside, looking even more puzzled, "Isn't that Percy Wheeler? Aurora, what exactly are you up to?"
Aurora patted Sophia's shoulder, "You'll see once we get inside."
With Sophia's help, Aurora entered smoothly.
She had Sophia arrive first and book a room next to the one Nicole was in.
Once inside the Narcissus Pavilion, Aurora left the door slightly ajar and saw Percy enter the adjacent Magnolia Lodge.
Sophia was shocked, "Aurora, isn't your stepmother next door? Is Percy here to see Nicole? One is the chairman of Johnson Group, and the other is Mrs. White. How are they connected? Could it be..."
Sophia wasn't dumb and guessed, "Are they having an affair?"
Aurora smirked, "They've been having an affair for years."
Aurora didn't know exactly when it started, but she had suspected something when she bumped into them a few times while working as a tutor or part-timer.
"Nicole is cheating on your dad," Sophia said excitedly, "What are you waiting for? Tell your dad, and Nicole will definitely be kicked out. With such a big leverage, why haven't you used it?"
Aurora had thought about exposing Nicole, but Nicole was too secretive, and Percy was involved. Without catching them in the act, Dean wouldn't believe it and wouldn't dare confront Percy.
If Nicole whispered sweet nothings to Dean, Aurora would be the one in trouble.
Nicole had offended the Ford family before, but Dean didn't do anything to her, showing how much he valued her.
"Without solid evidence, it's useless. Sophia, you wait for my dad in the private room. I'll find a chance to sneak next door."
"What are you going to do next door? Won't your stepmother and Percy notice?" Sophia pulled Aurora forward and said mysteriously, "This private room has a hole. You can not only hear but also see the next room."
"Really?" Aurora was thrilled, "How did I not know about this before?"
Aurora had been here a few times with Sophia, and Daniel had brought her here before, but she didn't know about this.
Sophia said, "Every room has one, but not many people know. I heard it from Andrew, but I don't know how he found out."
Aurora couldn't care less and kissed Sophia excitedly, "Sophia, you're my lucky star."
Sophia replied proudly, "Of course."
Sophia moved a landscape painting on the wall, revealing a small hole, just big enough for an eye.
"Let me see." Aurora couldn't wait and peeked through the hole, expecting to see something, but instead, she heard something shocking.
