Chapter 105 Silly Person

Aurora yanked the steering wheel to dodge, but it was too late. The van slammed into her car.

The van didn't even try to avoid her; it seemed like it aimed to hit her.

The crash caved in the side door, and the airbags went off. Aurora's head hit the steering wheel, leaving her dazed and in pain.

She briefly blacked out, slumping over the wheel.

In the middle of nowhere, no other cars were around. The van driver got out, checked on her, and signaled to his buddy. "Hurry, get her out."

In a daze, Aurora felt herself being dragged out. Her forehead was sticky with blood.

They tossed her into the van, and during the bumpy ride, she passed out again.

When Aurora woke up, she had no clue where she was. It was pitch black, smelled musty and rusty, and she could hear rats squeaking.

Her forehead still hurt. She tried to move but realized her hands and feet were tied.

This wasn't just a car accident; someone did this on purpose.

Who could it be?

Emily or Nicole?

Emily was pregnant and just bailed out; she wouldn't dare.

Nicole was busy with asset negotiations with Dean; she wouldn't have time.

So who?

Where was she?

It was so dark. Even if it was night, she should see something. Was she in a confined space?

Then she heard a wheelchair rolling. She recognized it from spending time with John.

Was John here?

Aurora tried to call out but could only make muffled sounds; her mouth was taped shut.

Now, she was really panicking.

The wheelchair sound stopped. What was happening?

Her heart pounded. Jack had been kidnapped, and now her. Was this the Wolfpack Organization John had mentioned?

Aurora tried to make noise for help.

"Where is she?"

"Inside."

She heard voices outside.

Then, the sound of a metal door opening. Blinding white light flooded in. Aurora turned her head away.

The wheelchair sound got closer. She squinted and saw a man in a wheelchair coming towards her.

As he got closer, she saw his face.

It was a stranger.

He gave a sinister smile and said, "Ms. White, sorry for inviting you this way."

He said sorry, but his actions nearly killed her.

Behind him stood another man, probably a bodyguard.

The man in the wheelchair signaled to remove the tape from her mouth. When it was ripped off, Aurora almost cried from the pain.

"Who are you? Did I do something to you? Why did you bring me here? What do you want?"

With the light, she saw her surroundings clearly. It was an abandoned factory.

"Ms. White, you really have a bad memory. Don't you recognize me?" the man said darkly, touching his left leg with a vicious expression. "This is all because of you."

Aurora noticed his left leg was missing, the pant leg empty.

She stared in shock, unable to recall causing someone to lose a leg.

"This must be a misunderstanding. You must have had the wrong person. I really don't know you. What does your leg have to do with me?"

The man shouted, "Stop lying! Someone told me I lost my leg because of you."

"Who?" Aurora explained, "I don't even know you. How could I have caused you to lose your leg? Someone must be framing me. Let me tell you, there are plenty of people who dislike me but can't get rid of me. Maybe someone is using you to kill me."

The man's face turned green with anger. "Are you saying I'm stupid and don't even know I'm being used?"

"I didn't say that. That's your interpretation." Aurora shrugged, less tense now. "Look, we have no grudge against each other. You've got the wrong person."

His expression grew more sullen. "A few months ago, you were kidnapped. Do you remember that?"

Aurora got uneasy, losing her composure.

Back then, Nicole had someone kidnap her, and she almost drowned in the sea. To be precise, it was Percy who had someone try to kill her.

Aurora's gaze fell on the man's missing leg, and she suddenly realized. "Are you Percy's son, Chris?"

Chris sneered, "So you do remember. You figured it out."

"Yes, I remember." Aurora swallowed, her limbs cold. "Mr. Harris, it was your father who wanted me dead."

Although it was cruel to lose a leg, it wasn't her who had Chris's leg taken. But Aurora could guess who did it—John.

John had avenged her by taking Percy's beloved youngest son's leg.

Chris clutched his empty pant leg, his eyes filled with overwhelming rage.

"Aurora, you ruined me. You made me a cripple. I'm here to settle this debt with you."

"What do you want?" Aurora felt Chris's intense hatred, scared. "It seems I won't be leaving here in one piece today. Before you do anything, can you at least tell me who told you?"

She needed to know who wanted her dead before she died.

"Aurora, aren't you afraid at all?" Chris stared at her.

"Does being afraid help?" Aurora chuckled. "If I say I'm scared, will you let me go?"

"No."

"Then there you go." Aurora smirked. "I just want to die knowing the truth before you do anything."

"Fine, I'll grant you that." Chris said, "A woman called me. As for who it is, Ms. White, you'll have to guess. As you said, you've offended so many people. Think about who wants you dead the most."

Aurora really couldn't guess, and she sneered, "Right now, the person who wants me dead the most is you, Mr. Harris. But let me remind you, do you think I have the ability to take your leg? I don't deny that I had something to do with it, but the person who actually took your leg wasn't me."

Chris asked, "Then who was it?"

"I don't know." Aurora certainly wouldn't betray John. She was just stalling for time. "I just don't want you to be used and lose your other leg too."

"You're threatening me." Chris roared, "Today, I'll see if I can do anything to you. Come on, take one of her legs."

As soon as Chris finished speaking, several burly men came in from outside, carrying a guillotine.
