Chapter 151 The Fake Pregnancy Exposed
The birthday bash was in full swing.
Everyone was there, but Aurora stood on the stage, totally unfazed.
Jane was bawling her eyes out, "My baby is gone, Aurora! You did this! You're heartless, hurting an unborn child!"
Helen and some of the Lewis family members showed up.
"What happened?" Helen asked, shocked by the blood around Jane.
Some of them were furious. "You cold-hearted woman, just standing there! How can you be so cruel?"
"Yeah, Helen, is this the woman John picked to lead the Lewis family? She's evil and doesn't deserve it."
Jane clung to Helen, crying even harder, "Mom, your grandchild is gone. Aurora pushed me. She knew Grandpa loved this baby and was scared we'd take her spot, so she did this."
"Jane, don't worry. I'll get you to the hospital." Helen was desperate to get her there. With all that blood, the baby was definitely gone, and she couldn't risk Jane's life.
"Mom, you have to get justice for me and my baby." Jane sobbed, turning to the family, "Please help me."
Todd heard the commotion and rushed over. He glanced at Aurora, silently asking if they should take Jane away.
Aurora subtly shook her head. Taking Jane away now would make her look guilty.
Aurora stepped off the stage, smiling down at Jane, "Drama major? I thought your parents were teachers and you studied finance. Your acting is top-notch."
"Aurora, how can you smile? You caused a death."
The Lewis family members were livid. They weren't defending Jane; they just liked opposing John, who had chosen Aurora.
The guests started whispering.
"Aurora is ruthless."
"Yeah, she didn't even spare a child. So jealous. She hasn't even married into the Lewis family yet and she's already causing trouble."
"Mr. Lewis has been sick for so long, and he was so excited for a great-grandson. Now the only heir is gone."
"I bet Aurora was scared the baby would take her benefits. Mr. Lewis valued that baby so much, and Jane could've gained status through it."
"The baby is so poor."
The more the guests criticized Aurora, the happier Jane felt. This was just her first move against Aurora; she had a bigger plan.
Sandra chimed in, "It's really sad, losing a baby like that."
Her words, not too loud or soft, fueled everyone's anger.
Todd didn't know Jane's pregnancy was fake and was really worried about Aurora.
Listening to the guests, Aurora stayed calm, scanning the crowd.
She wanted to see who would kick her when she was down and who would stay neutral. This incident would help her figure out who was real and who was fake.
Emily stood on the sidelines, not getting involved. She was being cautious. With so many people attacking Aurora, she didn't need to step in.
Aurora looked at the almost dry blood on the ground and squatted down. She looked at Jane, "Don't act like I really bullied you. At worst, I'll give you another baby."
"Hey, everyone, did you hear that?"
"The baby's gone, how can she just replace it?"
"A baby isn't some object."
"What a heartless woman. Helen, John's not here, you have to speak up. How can someone like her lead the Lewis Family?"
Jane cried even harder, pointing at Aurora, "You're a monster, Aurora. This is premeditated murder. You should be in jail."
"Oh, really? And how many years for slander and framing?" Aurora reached for Jane's belly.
"What are you doing?" Jane freaked out, trying to shield her belly. "Mom, help! She's trying to hurt me."
Before anyone could react, Aurora yanked out a rubber belly from under Jane's clothes.
"Wow, so this is your 'baby'? What a surprise." Aurora tossed the fake belly back at Jane. "If you love this thing so much, I'll get you one more. Just stop crying. I'm fair, I won't shortchange you."
The fake belly caused a huge stir. No one saw that coming.
The Lewis family members who were accusing Aurora were now red-faced and speechless.
Helen let go of Jane, furious. "Jane, how could you fake a pregnancy to fool everyone?"
"Mom, let me explain, I..." Jane was mortified and at a loss for words.
Jane always felt like Aurora's words had a hidden meaning, but she never thought Aurora knew her pregnancy was fake.
When did Aurora find out? She had been so careful.
Aurora sneered, "You put a rubber belly on to fake being pregnant. Now, Lloyd's dream of holding a great-grandchild is shattered. He must be heartbroken."
"Aurora, you have no right to judge me. I know what you've done."
Jane decided, since her fake pregnancy was exposed, there was no point in pretending to be weak.
Jane quickly got up from the ground. "Everyone, look at this woman. She's not as innocent as she seems."
Before Jane could finish, Todd, catching Aurora's signal, had someone grab Jane and carry her out.
Aurora, exuding authority, sternly said, "It's Mr. Lloyd Lewis's birthday. How dare she cause trouble here. Throw her out."
Aurora wasn't worried about what Jane might say. Now that Jane was exposed, no one would believe her; they'd just think it was slander.
Jane struggled. "Let me go, Aurora, you vicious woman..."
Before she could finish, her mouth was covered.
Todd ordered, "Get her out of here, as far as possible. No, take her back to the Lewis Mansion and lock her up to prevent more trouble."
"Yes, Mr. Smith." The security guards threw her into a car and drove off.
Back in the hall.
"Clean up the floor." Aurora glanced at the bloodstains, then at the guests. "Today is Mr. Lloyd Lewis's birthday. Anyone who causes trouble will be thrown out and blacklisted by the Lewis Family. We won't cooperate with them anymore."
Having spent a lot of time with John, Aurora’s mannerisms now echoed his presence, exuding a commanding aura that left the guests impressed.
The future matriarch of the Lewis Family was indeed remarkable.
Helen stayed silent, and even the extended family members didn't dare to speak, showing Aurora's status in the Lewis Family.
Even though Aurora hadn't married in yet, she already represented the Lewis Family.
