Chapter 252 Stop Talking Nonsense

When Aurora arrived at the police station, it was already early morning, and she was a step too late, as Sandra had already taken Alexander's body.

The police only handed her a letter from Alexander, and there was only a brief sentence: [Aurora, I'm going to accompany your mom. I've seen enough of this world!]

Aurora read the sentence over and over, her nose tingling, and a tear soaked through the letter. "Alexander, you liar."

Aurora was furious and in disbelief. The person who had been talking to her just hours ago was now gone.

The crime hadn't even been determined yet, and why did Alexander commit suicide out of guilt?

After reading the letter, Aurora looked coldly at John. "What did you say to him? Did you say something to him?"

"Aurora, calm down." John reached out to touch Aurora, but seeing her icy gaze, he didn't dare to.

"John, he was my dad after all." Aurora's mind was in turmoil. "Don't follow me, I need some time alone to calm down."

With that, she turned and stumbled out. At this moment, she suddenly understood John's feelings.

When John knew there was such a big rift between them, did he feel as helpless and sad as she did now?

No matter how much he didn't want to pursue it, that was still his dad who was killed.

Aurora suddenly didn't know where to go. John, afraid of upsetting her, didn't follow but secretly sent Lachlan and Gideon to protect her.

Seeing Aurora disappear into the night, John made a phone call. "Find a place to hide for now; they will soon take the bait."

The news of Alexander's suicide in prison quickly spread, and Matthew's car accident was brought up again by someone.

Almost everyone was saying that Alexander had killed Matthew and was therefore avenged by Nightfall.

John, who had always been behind the scenes, stepped forward and revealed his identity.

The people in the underworld were shocked and awed.

Indeed, the younger generation was formidable.

Now that Nightfall had wiped out The Shadow of Darkness organization while Wolfpack was barely surviving, wasn't Nightfall the dominant force?

That was incredible.

At a food stall in a night market.

A group of young thugs gathered, drinking and chatting loudly. "Who wants to join Nightfall with me?"

"Nightfall is the only one with a future now."

"Yet Nightfall wouldn't want us. All we know is collecting protection fees."

"Mr. Lewis from Nightfall is my idol. My life's goal is to join Nightfall and follow Mr. Lewis to do big things."

"Mr. Lewis even took down Mr. Johnson. He's really powerful. "

"A father's murder is an unpardonable crime. Mr. Lewis did nothing wrong; the victor takes it all."

"By the way, have you heard the rumor that someone else instigated Mr. Johnson to go after Matthew? Mr. Johnson was just deceived."

"Really? When did this news come out? How come we haven't heard?"

The owner of this food stall was a man in his fifties, named Joshua Anderson. Joshua was well-dressed with a suit and glasses, looking very refined.

He was now tallying accounts at the front desk, and, after overhearing the conversation of these young thugs, his expression suddenly turned quite strange.

Joshua walked over to those young thugs with a bottle of wine with a smile. "How do you like the food at my place?"

"Not bad, but the shrimp isn't very fresh."

Joshua was quite tactful. "I'll have the kitchen replace it for you. By the way, this bottle of wine is in the house. It's a new brand; consider it a taste test for me."

"You know how to do business." The leading young thug opened the bottle unceremoniously and shared it with everyone. "Tastes good."

"Then I'll bring two more bottles." Joshua smiled and asked, "By the way, I heard you talking just now. Did something big happen?"

"Mr. Johnson killed Mr. Lewis's father and committed suicide in prison a few days ago out of guilt."

"But I heard someone instigated Mr. Johnson. Mr. Johnson just wanted to teach Matthew a lesson, not kill him."

Joshua's heart skipped a beat, but he maintained a calm smile. "Really? The world is indeed complicated. So, is this matter settled?"

"With people dead, it's definitely settled."

Joshua subtly breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Alright, I'll get you the wine."

After Joshua left, one of the young thugs said, "Mr. Anderson is quite good at business."

"He dresses so well, doesn't look like someone running a food stall."

"I heard he used to be in finance."

"His wife ran off with someone, and his son died in a car accident. Apparently, his wife ran off with a big shot, and his son was hit by a car while chasing after her."

"I see."

The food stall was bustling, and when it got closer to dawn, the business gradually slowed down.

At a hotel.

Aurora dried her wet hair while saying to Lori on the phone, "Have you found any clues?"

"Not yet." Lori said, "Aurora, the net is cast. Don't worry, that person won't get away."

"Okay, you two come back first." With the phone on speaker, Aurora sat on the edge of the bed and added, "By the way, bring back some late-night snacks."

Lori groaned on the other end, "Aurora, you're getting better at ordering me around."

Aurora laughed. "Everyone has their expertise."

Lori complained, "So your expertise is just using your mouth?"

Aurora cleared her throat. "In the old war days, I'd be a chief of staff, high-ranking and powerful."

"What about me?"

"You'd naturally be a senior military officer. In today's terms, you're a professional hitman. Didn't you say before that you're an offensive type? Whether things succeed depends on your execution, so you're very important. Otherwise, I can't find the real culprit behind Matthew's death with just my mouth."

"Stop joking. Just say you want to use me." Lori rolled her eyes on the other end and saw a food stall across the street. "Aurora, what do you want to eat? There's a food stall here."

"Just get something light."

With that, Aurora hung up the phone as her hair was almost dry.

After parting ways with John at the police station that day, she had been staying in a hotel.

Even though Alexander had committed suicide out of guilt, she still wanted to investigate the truth of the car accident. At least, she wanted to clear Alexander's name.

She wouldn't go back until she found that financial advisor and proved Alexander's innocence.

Aurora and John tacitly didn't contact each other and were both looking for that financial advisor.

It had been so many years since Matthew's death, and the financial advisor had deliberately hidden his identity while working for Alexander, making it hard to find him quickly.

Meanwhile, at the food stall.

Lori and Ava walked in. It was almost dawn, and the food stall was about to close. "Sir, please prepare a few small dishes and a seafood porridge for takeout."

Joshua raised his head from his accounts and smiled, "Got it, have a seat and wait a moment."
