Chapter 73 Oh No, Overconfident

Someone was really jealous that Daniel was totally taking advantage of the situation.

John naturally wasn't in a good mood.

John asked again, "How many roses did Daniel send?"

Todd, sipping his coffee, replied smoothly, "Elena said it was ninety-nine."

Elena was the informant John had planted in the company.

"Only ninety-nine. How lame," John said, condescendingly. "Order nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine and send them over."

Todd almost choked on his coffee. He spluttered andsaid, "Boss, that would need a big truck. Wouldn't that be inconvenient for Miss White?"

John thought it made sense and said, "Make it nine hundred and ninety-nine then. Order the freshest red roses."

Todd replied, "Got it."

Todd thought for a moment and asked, "Boss, what if Daniel sends more?"

"Then we'll keep sending more too. Whatever Daniel sends, we'll send ten times the amount," John believed that in pursuing a woman, one must not lose momentum.

"Should we include a message for Miss White?" Todd suggested, "Like some cheesy love notes to enhance the relationship."

"No need, Aurora would understand my intentions," John said confidently.

However, John was soon proven to be overconfident.

Aurora had been busy all day. She had finally finished her work and was rushing to pick up Loren from kindergarten when another delivery of flowers arrived.

This time, it took several people to carry them.

Her colleagues were envious, especially the female ones.

"Aurora, I'm so jealous. This must be nine hundred and ninety-nine roses, so romantic."

"I've never seen such a big bouquet of roses before, it's beautiful."

Aurora looked at the flowers and felt a headache coming on.

It really was never-ending.

Aurora assumed they were from Daniel, signed for them, and handed the flowers to her colleagues. "You guys handle it."

A male colleague joked, "Aurora, can I take a few home for my wife?"

"Go ahead," Aurora said, generously. "Anyone who likes them, take some. Don't be shy."

"Thanks, I'll take a few for my girlfriend too."

"I'll take some too."

"Me too."

In the end, all the roses John sent were divided among her colleagues.

Aurora left work on time to pick up Loren.

Ashley had provided her with a car. The Robinson family garage was full of luxury cars, the most modest of which were still worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Ashley let Aurora choose any car she liked, and if she didn't like any, she could order a new one.

Aurora picked one of the modest cars because she didn't want to attract too much attention.

Ashley's kindness made her feel the love of a mother.

When Emily turned eighteen, Dean gave her a five hundred thousand dollar sports car as a coming-of-age gift.

But for Aurora's coming-of-age, Emily and Nicole drugged her and arranged for a man to rape her.

Aurora waited at the kindergarten gate for Loren, reminiscing about the past and feeling a pang of sorrow.

If only her child were still alive.

Just as she was thinking this, she saw Loren skipping towards her.

"Sis."

Loren called Ashley 'grandma' and Leo 'uncle,' but always called Aurora 'sis'and never changed it.

"Loren, were you good and listened to the teacher at school today?" Aurora said, her heart melting at the sight of the chubby boy.

During their time with the Robinson family, Loren's diet had been so good that he was visibly gaining weight, looking round and rosy, with a particularly endearing face.

"Sis, the teachers are so long-winded. They got a lot of questions wrong, and I had to correct them. How can they teach people with such poor skills? They're just misleading students," Loren said with disdain.

Aurora was shocked.

Loren was so young, yet he could correct the teacher's mistakes?

And he even knew the phrase "misleading the students."

Aurora had always thought Loren was very smart, but now she realized that he was exceptionally intelligent.

Loren's reading ability was far ahead of his peers; not even five years old, he could already self-study high school material.

He was a child prodigy.

"Loren, you must be polite and respect your teachers."

"Got it." Loren reached out, smiling like a little fox. "Sis, can you pick me up?"

"Loren, do you know how much you weigh now?"

Loren was almost fifty pounds, and although he was a bit chubby, it didn't affect his looks. In fact, he was even cuter and more handsome.

"Sis, I want a hug," Loren pouted. "You smell so good and you're so soft."

"Stop it," Aurora said, picking Loren up with a mix of amusement and exasperation. "If you keep teasing, I won't hug you next time."

Loren wrapped his arms around Aurora's neck, looking very satisfied. "Sis, I want to sleep with you tonight."

"No way," Aurora refused immediately.

Loren tossed and turned a lot in his sleep.

"Sis, I'm scared at night," Loren pouted. "Uncle wants to get back at me."

"It's good enough that you're not playing pranks on your uncle."

Now even Leo was afraid of Loren.

Aurora curiously asked, "What deal did you make with your uncle?"

"That's a secret between men," Loren said with a mischievous smile, "But I can tell you tonight, sis."

He was still trying to find a way to sleep with her.

Aurora was both amused and exasperated.

"Then you have to stay still when you sleep."

"Okay," Loren said, with a giggle.

No news from John was the best news.

And with Loren around, Aurora felt a bit better.

In the evening, she called Todd again and learned that John was out of danger, which finally put her mind at ease.

Aurora went to work on time every day, and Daniel and John's flowers arrived on schedule, one after the other.

Daniel sent lilies, and John sent an even bigger bouquet of lilies.

Receiving so many flowers every day, the office couldn't hold them all, so Aurora came up with a solution and took them out after work to sell at a discount.

One dollar per flower, and they were quickly sold.

It made for a nice bit of extra income.

It wasn't bad at all.

When Daniel found out that Aurora had sold the flowers he sent, he was furious. It seemed that sending flowers wasn't working.

When John heard about Aurora selling the flowers, he laughed. "She really loves money."

Aurora was the first woman to ever dare to sell the flowers he sent.

Todd was also surprised when he found out.

Bouquets worth tens of thousands were sold by Aurora for a tenth of the price, at a dollar for each flower.

Todd admired Aurora.

"Boss, Miss White is probably still mad at you."

John pondered and said, "It's about time. Find me a hospital."

Todd asked, "Boss, are we going back to Silvercrest City?"

"It's time to go back," John said. "If we don't, it'll be harder to explain to Aurora."

Todd replied, "Got it, I'll ask Gary."

Gary was in charge of John's recovery, and they needed his approval to leave.

Todd was still worried, but Gary, without even looking up, said, "He could have left a long time ago."

Todd asked, "Why didn't you say so earlier?"

"You didn't ask," Gary said. He rolled his eyes at Todd and gotup from his chair. "Tell John to be careful. He's had two car accidents in such a short time. He might not be so lucky next time."

Todd said, "Got it. You're such a nag. If you care so much, why don't you tell him yourself?"

Gary snorted. "I didn't say I cared about him. Now get out, you're interrupting my experiment."

Seeing that Gary was busy, Todd didn't waste any more words. As he reached the door of the lab, he saw Summer and greeted him with a smile, "Hi, Summer."

Summer asked nonchalantly, "Is Mr. Lewis leaving?"
