Chapter 445 Hair in Hand
Jack looked confused and asked, "Aurora? What medicine? I don't get it. What's wrong with Lori?"
Aurora had expected this reaction from Jack, but it still stung.
She couldn't tell if Jack genuinely didn't know, if it was his other personality acting up, or if he was just putting on a show for her.
Aurora stared intently at Jack, staying silent.
Jack felt uneasy under her gaze, and his eyes darted around. "Aurora, why are you looking at me like that?"
Alexander scoffed, "If you haven't done anything wrong, why are you so scared of us looking at you?"
Jack's expression turned sour. "I really don't know what you're talking about. I woke up, and suddenly, everyone is against me. If I had known it would be like this, I wouldn't have come back. I'd rather die out there. I lost my left arm, and you are my family, but none of you has considered me. I think all of you have been deceived by John."
The more Jack spoke, the more agitated he became.
Aurora's face remained calm as she continued to stare at him.
"Jack, I watched you grow up. No one wants you to be healthier than I do. It pains me to see you like this, but you should never have hurt Lori. She's your older sister. You had her buried alive and injected her with a drug that gives her only three months to live. Jack, I don't believe you truly don't know. I don't believe this was entirely your other personality."
Aurora's eyes were sharp, and her words were even sharper.
"You stay here until you remember what you injected into Lori. Only then will I let you out."
Aurora left the room, turning away coldly.
Jack panicked, seeing the deep disappointment in Aurora's eyes.
Aurora was giving up on him.
To Jack, Aurora meant everything.
"Aurora, Aurora..." Jack called out desperately, but Aurora didn't turn back. She left and closed the door behind her with a cold indifference.
Inside the room, Jack was terrified. He feared Aurora would abandon him.
Jack got out of bed, trying to find Aurora. Suddenly, his expression twisted in pain, veins bulging on his forehead and hands. Another voice emerged in his mind.
"Don't go after her. She's just like the others. They've all abandoned you. She doesn't love you at all. Only I will always stand by your side."
Jack hit his head with his hands, desperately trying to resist the voice in his mind.
"No, that's not true. Aurora loves me the most. We've depended on each other. She won't abandon me. She won't!"
Jack fought hard to suppress his other personality, collapsing onto the bed in agony, his eyes fierce. After a while, he slowly calmed down.
Aurora watched Jack through a monitor in another room, her brow furrowed. She muttered, "Jack can completely suppress his other self."
"This kid is hiding something deep. Aurora, you need to be careful," Alexander said.
Just then, the phone rang. Alexander glanced at the caller ID and answered, "Who is this?"
The person on the other end said something, and Alexander told Aurora before heading out.
Alexander arrived at the entrance of the White Villa, where Sam was waiting.
"Aren't you one of my son-in-law's men? Why are you calling me?" Alexander asked, puzzled, as he recognized Sam.
Sam smiled, "Mr. Johnson, I have a favor to ask..."
John had tasked Sam with getting a sample of Alexander's hair without raising suspicion, a challenging mission.
"What is it?" Alexander asked, curious.
"Mr. Johnson, it's a very secret matter. Come closer..." Sam acted mysteriously, placing his hand on Alexander's shoulder. As Alexander leaned in, Sam swiftly and discreetly snipped a lock of Alexander's hair.
Sam was skilled in combat and tracking, and had an alias in the underworld: Master Thief.
With no other choice, Sam resorted to stealing the hair.
Sam secured the hair, and Alexander didn't notice. "Tell me, what is it?"
Sam made up a story, "Our leader is desperate for a daughter. You're Mrs. Lewis's father, so we need your help. Without a daughter, our leader can't fulfill his wish, and we all suffer."
"That's it?"
"Isn't that a big deal?" Sam said. "Mr. Johnson, you're Mrs. Lewis's father. She'll listen to you. Please help us. If you do, the entire Nightfall group will be grateful. I have to go now, but please, help us."
Sam left, leaving Alexander standing there, bewildered.
Sam took the hair to a lab for urgent testing, paying extra for speed.
With the task completed, Sam breathed a sigh of relief, smiling as he walked away.
As Sam left, a masked man appeared from the other side.
A female doctor on duty took the hair sample to the lab.
Feeling sleepy, she bumped into a man at a corner.
"Sorry."
The hair fell to the ground, and the masked man bent down to pick it up. "Did I hurt you? I'm really sorry."
The doctor smiled, "It's okay."
