Chapter 324: Aren't you afraid that Aurora is a big shot?

She wondered, 'what could Daniel possibly have that's so important?'

Aurora was curious but kept a straight faces. "Let's hear it."

"Ms. White, it's almost noon. How about we have lunch together?" Daniel glanced at his watch, "I've got a table reserved at the Garden Restaurant. Would you do me the honor, Ms. White?"

Aurora gave Daniel a slight glance, feeling that something was off.

Daniel's attitude today was exceptionally good and humble.

This was not the Daniel she knew.

Aurora suddenly remembered Emily's previous reminder and had a bit of understanding.

Recently, she had been bored, and since someone was willing to entertain her, she decided to play along.

"Alright, thank you in advance for your hospitality, Mr. Taylor." Aurora smiled sweetly, looking very "innocent."

Daniel breathed a sigh of relief and made a gentlemanly gesture. "Ms. White, this way, please."

Aurora stood up and walked out with a straight back.

Daniel's eyes lingered on Aurora's back for a few more glances. Her figure was flawless, her demeanor captivating, and she exuded charm.

The unattainable always made Daniel yearn.

Daniel touched his chin and immediately followed.

Aurora ran into Linda at the elevator. "Linda, please tell Sophia that I won't be joining her for lunch."

Linda stood respectfully to the side and pressed the elevator button for Aurora. "Yes, Ms. White."

Aurora and Daniel entered the elevator and went straight to the parking lot.

Daniel wanted to suggest that Aurora ride in his car, but before he could speak, Aurora had already gotten into her own car.

Without a word, Daniel went to get his own car.

The two headed towards the Garden Restaurant.

The Garden Restaurant was very busy, almost full.

After parking, Aurora followed Daniel inside, up to the third floor. The large rooftop garden was stunning, with lush trees, elegant water features, and a variety of blooming flowers, creating a serene and sophisticated atmosphere.

"Ms. White, this way." Daniel led the way.

Aurora asked, "Where's the restroom?"

"Just ahead, to the left."

Aurora saw the restroom sign and said, "You go ahead and order. I'll be right back."

"Alright."

Daniel watched Aurora walk towards the restroom, relieved that she wasn't trying to slip away. He sat down at the reserved table.

Daniel thoughtfully ordered all of Aurora's favorite dishes.

Daniel was secretly pleased, thinking that Aurora still had feelings for him; otherwise, she wouldn't have come to lunch with him.

Aurora washed her hands in the restroom. Just as she was drying them, her phone rang.

It was John calling.

Aurora's lips curved slightly, and she deliberately hesitated for a few seconds before answering. "Sweetheart, what's up?"

Her calling him "Sweetheart" made John's heart melt.

"Send me the address where you're having lunch with Daniel. I'll come over too."

Aurora couldn't help but laugh. "You came down from the mountain?"

If he hadn't come down, he wouldn't have known she was out with Daniel.

"Just got to the office," John replied, feeling frustrated. "Aurora, you've tricked me again."

Aurora knew John was easily jealous, which is why she had deliberately mentioned Daniel's visit earlier.

Sure enough, one sentence had tricked John into coming down from the mountain.

"Garden Restaurant, we just arrived here. Come over, you might catch a good show."

"What are you up to now?" John asked.

"I'm such a kind person; how could I do anything bad? Nonsense." Aurora hummed. "I'm hanging up."

Having gotten the address, John immediately drove over.

Aurora, in a good mood, tidied her hair and clothes before walking out.

Suddenly, a woman rushed out and hugged her excitedly. "It really is you! How do you stay so well-preserved? You haven't aged a day. Your skin is so smooth and youthful, I'm so envious."

Aurora was stunned for a few seconds before she recognized the short-haired woman in front of her.

"Maia?"

"At least you still recognize me." Maia Sullivan laughed. "We haven't seen each other since graduation, right? It's been years."

Maia was Aurora's college classmate. They used to be pretty close back in school.

"Yes, it has been a few years. You've changed a lot; I almost didn't recognize you." Aurora exclaimed.

Maia, with her optimistic and cheerful personality, laughed and said, "Of course, there had to be big changes. Otherwise, those hundreds of thousands of dollars would have been wasted. I've had work done on my eyes, nose, and chin."

Aurora was taken aback. Maia was really bold to admit it.

Most people who had plastic surgery would keep it a secret, insisting it was natural, but Maia didn't care at all.

Aurora asked, "What are you doing here?"

"There's a college reunion today. We sent out a notice in the group chat. Didn't you know?" Maia remembered, "Oh, you’re not in the group. Aurora, come with me. Everyone will be so surprised to see you. You were the class beauty!"

"Maia, I..." Aurora wanted to say she had plans, but Maia pulled her towards a private room.

"Aurora, do you have a boyfriend? Let me tell you, several of our male classmates are doing quite well. You might hit it off with one of them."

Back in college, no one knew Aurora was the daughter of the White family. Now that she was in the elite circle, people like Maia, who were outside that circle, might not know certain things.

Maia didn't know Aurora was married.

She didn't give Aurora a chance to speak and directly pushed open a private room door, excitedly announcing, "Everyone, look who's here! The top beauty of our class, Aurora."

There were about twenty or thirty people in the room, and they all turned to Aurora.

Some were surprised, some were momentarily confused but then recognized Aurora.

Everyone was nearing thirty, showing varying signs of aging, but Aurora looked the same as ever.. Her figure, face, and skin showed no hint of approaching thirty.

Aurora's entrance was stunning.

After a few seconds of surprise, a long-haired woman sneered, "So it's our class's Aurora. It's rare for everyone to gather like this after graduation, and even Aurora is here."

Class representative Eric Allen snapped out of his amazement and warmly said, "Aurora, come join us. Waiter, can we get another chair?"

Aurora didn't want to sit, but Maia pulled her, making it hard for her to leave.

This was Aurora's first time attending a class reunion, but she had heard that these so-called reunions were just comparison shows.

Sure enough, as soon as Aurora sat down, everyone started boasting about being executives at big companies, which female classmate married a big boss, who bought what brand-name bags and jewelry, who started a studio and made over a million dollars a year.

They were casually bragging and subtly showing off their wealth.

Aurora, who had been silent, was suddenly called out.

"Aurora, where are you working now? You're not still washing dishes in a restaurant like before, are you? If you're having difficulties, let us know. We should help out our old classmate." The long-haired woman started mocking Aurora again.

Aurora had indeed washed dishes in a restaurant to support herself through college.

Maia, seeing Aurora being picked on, uttered, "Selene, why are you so hostile towards Aurora? Are you jealous that she's prettier than you?"

Aurora had never gotten along with Selene Harrison in college.

If Maia hadn't mentioned it, Aurora wouldn't have recognized that the person who had been targeting her was Selene.

Aurora looked at Selene, realizing that she had had work done on every possible part of her face. No wonder she didn't recognize Selene.

Selene, embarrassed by Maia's comeback, retorted, "I'm just showing concern for a classmate."

Aurora calmly spoke, "I'm not working."

She wasn't exactly lying; she wasn't technically working.

She was just temporarily covering in for John.

Hearing that Aurora wasn't working, Selene's disdain grew. "Aurora, you didn't get married and become a housewife, did you?"

Aurora nodded slightly. "Yes, I did."

This admission disappointed many male classmates. A female classmate asked, "Aurora, what does your husband do? Is he an executive at some company? Why don't you invite him over so we can all meet him?"

"Yeah, we all want to see who married Aurora."

"Aurora, don't be shy. We're just curious to meet him, that's all."

"Exactly. My husband works at AJ Group, a big company, one of the Fortune 500. Maybe he can help your husband find a job."

"A company like AJ Group isn't easy to get into. Aurora's husband probably can't get into a company like that."

"I heard their security department is hiring. I can ask my husband to arrange something."
