Chapter 128 Causing a Commotion
Nicole wrapped a scarf around her face, trying to look all sweet, but she was more like the Big Bad Wolf trying to trick Little Red Riding Hood.
Loren eyed Nicole suspiciously. "No need, my mom and dad are coming soon."
Smart kid, using the parent card.
Nicole was puzzled. 'Isn't he an orphan? Where'd the parents come from?'
Her heart skipped a beat. "What are your parents' names? Where do you live? Don't be scared. I'm not a bad person. I just want to help. I saw you looking for someone earlier. You're so cute, I couldn't resist."
She'd seen Loren searching for someone earlier.
"I won't tell you. I don't know you." Loren wasn't falling for it.
Seeing Loren wasn't buying it, Nicole looked around, didn't spot Aurora, and grabbed Loren, running towards the yacht.
"Help! Kidnapper!" Loren screamed, kicking and biting Nicole's shoulder.
"Ouch!" Nicole yelped, getting pissed. "You little brat, keep screaming and I'll throw you into the sea."
Loren's cries drew attention. Nicole smiled and said, "This is my grandson. He's just being naughty."
People didn't suspect anything, especially with Nicole's designer clothes.
"Todd, help! Todd!" Loren yelled. Todd was still in the restroom, and passersby just watched Nicole carry Loren away.
Nicole got Loren onto the yacht, and Emily quickly set sail.
By the time Todd came out, the yacht was gone. He looked around but couldn't find Loren.
Todd panicked. "Loren, Loren?"
He ran out to search, but the dock was empty.
Just then, Tyler and Sam returned with their yacht. Summer jumped off eagerly.
"Todd, where's my brother? Take me to him." Summer had heard Loren was found and rushed over.
"He's gone." Todd looked frustrated. He'd just gone to the restroom, and Loren was gone.
"What do you mean he's gone?" Summer was anxious, more than ever.
Tyler asked, "Mr. Smith, weren't you with Loren just now?"
"I went to the restroom, and when I came out, Loren was gone," Todd said. "Summer, don't worry. Maybe Loren went to find you. Let's split up and look for him."
Summer's face was grim, his gaze icy.
Todd was startled. Despite his age, Summer had a sharp gaze, reminding him of John.
Summer was definitely another John, maybe even better.
Instead of splitting up, Summer asked Sam, "Sam, can I borrow your computer?"
"Sure." Sam handed over his mini computer.
Todd was puzzled. "Summer, what are you going to do?"
Summer sat down, focused. "I'll access the dock's surveillance. It'll be faster."
"Right, why didn't I think of that?" Todd slapped his forehead. Summer had outsmarted him again.
He thought Summer, despite his shooting skills, wasn't great with computers. He started to say, "How about I..."
Before he could finish, Summer had already hacked into the dock's surveillance and pulled up the footage.
"Wow." Todd was amazed. "Summer, how long have you been learning this? You're so quick!"
"Three days," Summer said, fingers flying over the keyboard.
Talk about a confidence crusher.
Most people mastered one skill, but Summer was good at everything.
Todd's mouth twitched. "We all have one brain. How's yours so amazing?"
Summer looked up. "Is it hard?"
To Summer, it was a piece of cake. Hacking a basic system like this? Child's play. If he couldn't crack such a simple firewall, all his training would be for nothing.
Sam and Tyler glanced at Todd, shaking their heads.
"Is it hard?"
"Is it hard?"
They were genuinely asking, not trying to belittle Todd.
Todd felt deflated. "Looks like I need to go back to the island for some advanced training."
He'd really let himself slip over the years.
"Loren," Summer suddenly shouted excitedly.
On the screen was footage of Nicole snatching Loren.
Seeing Loren's face, Summer got even more pumped. It was really his brother.
Todd and the others saw Loren being taken away. Nicole's covered face made her unrecognizable.
Todd said, "Summer, quickly pull up other footage to see where they took him."
If something happened to Loren, Todd would feel guilty. He shouldn't have left Loren alone. No matter how smart Loren was, he was still just a kid.
Summer's expression turned serious as he quickly tapped on the keyboard, finding footage of Nicole carrying Loren onto the yacht.
"My brother is on that yacht," Summer said urgently. "Sam, hurry, start the yacht and chase them."
No one knew if they were dealing with human traffickers or Wolfpack members.
Todd suddenly remembered something. "Isn't the Wolfpack scouting for new recruits this year?"
Sam confirmed, "Yeah, when Summer and I were watching the Wolfpack members, we figured they were scouting for new recruits since Silver Crest City has been calm."
Tyler said, "That's bad. If they took Loren, they might have already left the dock for their headquarters."
Summer asked, "Where is the Wolfpack's headquarters?"
"No one knows," Todd said. "Maybe the boss will have a way."
"Let's stop them first." Summer handed the computer to Sam and got on the yacht.
"Summer, I'm coming with you," Todd said, joining him. "I lost him, so it's my responsibility to find him. Even if it's the Wolfpack, I'll bring your brother back."
"My brother will be fine," Summer said firmly, looking at the sea.
Todd instructed Sam and Tyler, "You guys inform the boss. Summer and I will go after them first."
After giving the instructions, Todd started the yacht and sped off.
Sam and Tyler immediately called John to report the situation.
At the Lewis Mansion, John sprang up from the sofa, his expression serious. "Issue an order immediately. Have all Nightfall members in Silver Crest City search for Loren."
Aurora came in with a tray of fruit and overheard. "John, what's going on?"
"Loren was likely taken by the Wolfpack," John explained. "And one more thing, Loren and Summer are biological brothers. Summer and Todd have already gone out to sea to chase them."
Every word John said was a shock to Aurora.
"Where was he taken? Take me there quickly." Aurora didn't have time to think about anything else; she just wanted to find Loren.
After John issued the order, hundreds of yachts from Pearl Harbor set out.
The commotion at the dock caused many in the circle to speculate. What had happened for all the Nightfall members to be mobilized?
