Chapter 330: Aurora Was Thoroughly Tricked by Lori

Lori was stunned for a few seconds. She looked at Todd, who was following closely behind Allan, and didn't take Allan's words seriously. She waved her hand and laughed, "Mr. Jennings, don't be shy. I won't tell anyone."

Allan had a headache.

He looked at Todd, hoping Todd would clarify.

Todd shrugged with a look that seemed to say, 'See, it was not my fault; it was all Lori's misunderstanding.'

With no other option, Allan stared at Lori and spoke seriously, "You could try to correct my sexual orientation. There are people in the police department who can help."

What?

Lori was confused again.

One moment Allan clarified he was not gay, the next he talked about correcting his sexual orientation.

So, was he straight or gay?

Lori was tangled up in this question, completely missing the true meaning behind Allan's words.

In fact, this is a confession.

This situation tought us a lesson: If you and the girl you were confessing to weren't on the same page intellectually, you didn't use big or complicated words, because she might not have understood.

This was Allan's second time confessing his feelings to Lori. After speaking, he felt a bit embarrassed and left first.

Lori sat in the car, still puzzled. She looked at Allan's back and then at Todd.

"What does he mean?"

Todd, who had been on edge, breathed a heavy sigh of relief when he realized Lori didn't understand.

Lori didn't get it, but Todd did.

Todd pretended not to understand either: "I don't get it either. How about we head back?"

"Alright, let's go find Aurora." Lori opened the car door and let Todd sit in the back.

Starting the car, Lori glanced in the direction Allan had left, for just two seconds.

In the Lewis family estate, Aurora, after freshening up, was playing with the kids.

Trey and Jax were each held by Summer and Loren, leaving Aurora and John sitting on the carpet, watching Summer and Loren skillfully change the babies' diapers.

The couple exchanged a glance, and Aurora suddenly had a thought: "Honey, how about we have another child?"

These two children make her feel completely useless.

John shook his head: "No more. With our track record, if we have two more sons, our retirement will be delayed even further."

Aurora pouted: "You're just afraid we'll go bankrupt again."

John chuckled: "You know me best."

Just then, Helen's voice chimed in: "Have another child? Great! While I can still help you with the kids, have one quickly. I'd love a granddaughter."

As a grandmother, she never minded having more grandchildren.

After a moment's thought, Helen added: "But wait a couple of years. Aurora had a C-section this time; it's hard on the body. If you want a third child, wait a bit."

John hadn't been thinking about it, but hearing about having a daughter, he winked at Aurora: "Honey, I think Mom makes a good point."

Aurora knew exactly what John was thinking; he just wanted a daughter.

The Lewis family had lots of grandsons over the years, but no girls. If they had a girl, she would likely be very cherished.

Loren, hearing about having a sister, also voiced, "Mommy, I want a cute sister. Many kids in my class have sisters, and I'm so jealous."

Summer, as a family member, also had a say: "I want a sister too."

Aurora was speechless.

She was too idle, why did she bring up having another child?

Aurora stood up: "Having Trey and Jax, I'm just a delivery person. If we have a sister, I probably won't even get to touch her. No way."

Knowing how the Lewis family's tendency to spoil children, if they had a daughter, she could end up either a spoiled little tyrant or a delicate little princess.

"Mrs. Lewis, Ms. Hernandez is here."

A servant knocked on the door.

Hearing that Lori was here, Aurora was both surprised and puzzled.

Why would Lori come to see her in the middle of the night?

Aurora exchanged a glance with John, handed the four kids to Helen, and the couple went downstairs to meet Lori.

Lori and Todd were waiting in the living room. When Aurora arrived, Lori hugged her: "Aurora, my dearest, my most cherished Aurora, I finally see you."

Everyone looked puzzled, not understanding Lori's behavior at all.

Aurora used her eyes to ask Todd what was going on.

Todd indicated he didn't know either.

Aurora asked, "Lori, did Todd bully you again?"

Todd quickly explained, "That's not fair, Mrs. Lewis. Don't pin this on me."

This time, Lori didn't throw Todd under the bus. She shook her head: "No, Aurora, I just missed you so much I couldn't sleep. So I came to see you. Aurora, I want to sleep with you tonight."

"Aurora is mine." John quickly pulled Aurora into his arms.

It was pretty suspicious for Lori to show up in the middle of the night to compete for his wife.

Lori clutched her chest, pretending to be in pain: "My chest hurts so much today, it's unbearable. I can't breathe, I feel like I'm dying. The doctor said I have lovesickness. The doctor was right, Aurora, I miss you so much that I'm sick."

Aurora was speechless. "Speak in plain language."

Lori sniffled, swaying her arms a bit coquettishly: "Aurora, I have a heavy burden on my heart, and only you can help me. Otherwise, I won't sleep well tonight. Mr. Jennings wants me to catch Richard, but he's hiding now. Where can I find him? There's only a month left. Aurora, can you help me lure him out?"

Hearing this, Todd's eyes widened. So Lori had an agenda.

John held his wife even tighter: "No way."

Aurora was also surprised. Who said Lori was dumb?

Clearly, her IQ was quite high.

Just now, with those few words and actions, Lori had actually used various tactics to achieve her goal.

Aurora sat on the sofa, also coming up with a plan, smiling slyly: "Lori, I've always been the one scheming against others. I never thought you'd be the one scheming against me today."

"Aurora." Lori started to play the pity card again: "My mom died early, and I have no dad. Ava and I depend on each other. We're so pitiful, and now we've been torn apart. Don't you feel sorry for me?"

The three of them were shocked.

Lori deserved an Oscar.

Todd seized the opportunity to pitch: "Lori, with acting skills like that, why not join my Smith Group? You'll definitely become famous."

Lori shot him a look: "Get lost!"

Todd quickly moved aside.

"Aurora!" Lori turned around, immediately changing her expression, and clung to Aurora's leg, continuing to play the pity card, crying and wailing: "Can you stand to see me all alone, can you stand to see me..."

Aurora was both entertained and a bit annoyed. "Get up, I agree."

Lori immediately changed her expression and got up: "Aurora, you're the best. I hope you have a daughter for your next child."

Aurora and John were also stunned.

Could Lori have some kind of clairvoyance? How else would she know they were just talking about having next child?
