Chapter 406 Punished by Family Rules Again

John was completely unfazed.

Halfway through his cigarette, a sudden blaze erupted on the ocean.

Lion's crew's boat had caught fire, and the water was churning violently, bubbling as if the entire sea was boiling.

Lion's men were thrown into a panic.

The leader shouted, "Quick, get the small boats, escape on the small boats!"

One by one, the small boats were lowered. As soon as someone jumped onto a boat, people started emerging from the water—one, two...

More and more, until seventy or eighty people surfaced.

Each person was equipped with a water jetpack, diving into the water and then shooting up fifty feet into the air.

They all wielded specially made crossbows, firing arrows at Lion's men.

A barrage of arrows flew, leaving Lion's men with nowhere to escape. They were hit and fell into the water, where more people were lying in wait, ready to finish them off with knives.

One stab per person, like cutting grass.

The sea turned red, a sight that made one's scalp tingle.

Jack, who had regained his senses, watched in horror as Lion's men perished one by one, retreating frantically. He was on a small boat with no way out, nearly tipping it over in his panic.

Jack's legs went weak, and he crouched to stabilize himself.

He watched as patches of red blood surfaced in the water, one after another.

Jack's face turned pale with fear. Nightfall's men finished off Lion's crew, leaving only Jack. Dozens of them emerged from the water, jetting fifty feet into the air with their jetpacks.

Dozens of eyes fixed on Jack.

Terrified, Jack pleaded, "I'm the leader's brother-in-law! I'm not with Lion! Don't kill me, please!"

The men exchanged glances and quickly dove back into the water, taking Lion's bodies with them, disappearing swiftly.

Jack was left alone, drifting on the sea, surrounded by the endless night and the sound of waves.

...

Ava waited for Todd to come out and said, "Ironclad Union's men just landed. Lori went after them."

Todd was alarmed, "How long has she been gone?"

"Over half an hour," Ava replied. "I'm worried something happened to Lori."

Todd cursed, "That fool! Why is she risking herself? This is Nightfall's territory. She doesn't need to show off. There are traps everywhere; those people can't get close."

Anyone trying to reach their position would be doomed.

"Todd, you don't understand Lori at all," Ava said coldly. "She may seem carefree, but she's deeply emotional. Ironclad Union's men used to be Wolfpack. Don't forget, Lori and I grew up in Wolfpack."

If Lori hadn't asked her to stay and protect Todd, she would have gone after Lori.

Ava knew Todd was weak in combat. Lori might bully Todd, but she wouldn't let anyone else.

Ava left to follow Lori.

Todd ordered the shadows, "Guard this place. No one gets close."

"Yes, Mr. Smith."

Nightfall's men were scattered in the dark.

Earlier, those near the training ground had been silently dealt with.

Afterward, everyone remained at their posts, orderly and calm, well-trained.

Todd followed Ava.

They reached the shore and found signs of a struggle. Ava examined them and looked out at the sea, "Lori's in trouble."

Todd's eyes darkened as he looked at the ground.

...

Aurora was anxious inside, unable to sit still.

She saw the fire on the sea and went out, finding John and Gary by the shore. "What's happening out there?"

John replied casually, "A boat caught fire."

Just then, the group that had dealt with Lion returned, laying out Lion's bodies on the shore.

This was Nightfall's territory. Seventy or eighty men against eight, with the advantage of terrain, it was a piece of cake.

Lion's men had no chance to resist. They were close-combat experts, but John sent long-range shooters, making it a quick kill.

Aurora was shocked, "Aren't these the ones who took Jack? Where's Jack?"

John signaled to one of his men, who quickly understood, "Mrs. Lewis, we only saw Lion's men, no one else."

"Aurora, don't worry. Jack might have escaped and returned," John said, waving his hand. "Alright, everyone, clean this up. Don't dirty Nightfall's territory."

"Yes, Mr. Lewis."

"Mr. Lewis, we found Justina's body," Tyler reported, running over. "We found her on the east side. She tried to escape the island but triggered the second set of traps."

The second set of traps was random, known only to three people.

John, Gary, and Todd.

"Throw her in the sea..."

John wanted to say feed her to the sharks, but held back, not wanting Aurora to think he was cold-blooded.

Instead, he said, "Dispose of her."

Tyler nodded, "Yes, Mr. Lewis. I'll have her fed to the sharks."

John cursed his subordinate's stupidity, kicking Tyler's butt, "Shut up, put up a marker."

"Yes, Mr. Lewis." Tyler rubbed his butt, not hurt by John's light kick.

The bodies were quickly cleaned up, leaving no trace of blood.

Aurora looked at John with complex emotions, wanting to say something but hesitating.

"John, Lori's in trouble."

Todd and Ava ran over.

Jack was still missing, and now Lori was in trouble. Aurora felt heavy-hearted.

"What happened?"

Ava said, "Ironclad Union's men must have captured her. Few can match Lori in the underworld. I'm worried she's in danger."

"Don't worry, she won't leave this sea," John said. "But I can't guarantee Lori's safety."

Todd's heart sank. He took a group of men and personally set out on a yacht to pursue them.

Ava went along.

John remained calm, reassuring Aurora, "Don't worry. I was just scaring Todd. As long as they haven't killed Lori, she'll be fine."

Seeing John calm, Aurora relaxed.

Aurora looked at John meaningfully, "Come inside with me."

She turned and walked towards the house.

Gary was puzzled, "What's she up to? Her tone seems off."

John sighed, "Looks like I'm in for some family discipline."

Gary was confused.

John's expression was resigned but sly, not at all like someone facing punishment.

Before Gary could figure it out, a loud explosion sounded from the sea.

John heard it too, turning to look at the sea, his face changing.
