Chapter 237 The Couple's Marriage Certificate Crashed the Internet

Jennifer's words were like a bolt from the blue for John. The moment she revealed that it was Alexander who had caused his father's death, it felt like something exploded in his mind.

Sam, standing nearby, was also completely stunned.

If there was a blood feud between John and Aurora, what would they do?

Wouldn't that turn into a tragedy?

John's eyes turned bloodshot as he tightened his grip on Jennifer. "I won't believe a single word you say. Killing you would dirty my hands. Turn yourself in."

With that, John directly threw her away.

Jennifer fell to the ground and gasped for air as she clutched her neck. "John, we've known each other for years. Don't you think I know you? Your father's car accident was very suspicious. Don't you have any doubts? Deep down, you already believe it, but you're afraid. Afraid of Aurora finding out." Then she laughed maniacally, tears streaming down her face. "You can't hide it forever. Aurora will find out one day. Let's see how you can be happy together with a blood feud between you."

Suddenly, Jennifer seemed to think of something as she stood up and laughed. "Oh, by the way, Aurora is pregnant. If Dad finds out she's carrying his enemy's child, do you think he'll let her keep it?"

John was furious. "Shut up."

"You don't want to be with me? Fine, then I won't let you two be happy either. Helen also knows the truth about the accident. Do you think she can accept the daughter of her husband's killer as her daughter-in-law?" Jennifer gave a bitter smile. "John, this is fate."

"Aurora will be my wife. That's the fate!" John narrowed his eyes, a hint of coldness flashing in his eyes. "No living person can stop it, let alone a dead one."

Hearing his words, Jennifer paused for a moment. "But it's your father who died. How can you cover up the truth about his death?"

John snorted coldly, "Dead is dead. If I die one day, I wouldn't mind if my son fell for the daughter of my enemy, or even the enemy themselves."

Jennifer was speechless. She thought her father's murder of John's father would drive a wedge between Aurora and him, but he didn't care at all.

Jennifer suddenly remembered her previous attempts to test Aurora. Whether with fake videos or real ones, she couldn't drive them apart.

Jennifer couldn't understand. How could two people trust each other like this?

"Why is it Aurora? Why can you let go of everything for her? She's just an unwed mother, fickle and unworthy." Jennifer said, her eyes filled with burning madness.

"Summer and Loren are my biological children."

"You're still deceiving yourself. Don't think I didn't catch that. You were just defending Aurora, trying to cover up the truth..."

Before she could finished her words, John interrupted her. "Five years ago, the night you disappeared, Wade drugged me, and the one who saved me was Aurora. That's how Summer and Loren came to be. They are truly my children."In that instant, the entire space seemed to freeze.

John took another step closer, his voice low and cold. "You ask why it's Aurora? Because in her heart, I'm just her man, neither the head of the Lewis Group nor the leader of Nightfall."

Jennifer was immediately reminded of herself. She loved John as well, but she couldn't let go of her identity as Ms. Johnson. And she didn't dare to disobey her father's orders.

Back then, she chose to fake her death and return to the Johnson family. It was she who abandoned John.

"I've lost, completely lost." Jennifer closed her eyes, a tear sliding down her cheek.

"For the sake of our years of acquaintance, I'll give you some dignity."

With that, John turned and directly left. Sam quickly followed.

Jennifer collapsed on the ground while staring blankly.

John had been gone for a long time andthe night had fallen. Jennifer finally moved her eyes. She took a glance at the dazzling night view outside the window, then walked to the bedside.

On the nightstand was a bottle of sleeping pills she had prepared long ago.

She hadn't planned to return when she came this time.

With a dead heart, there was no fear of death.

Jennifer took the entire bottle of sleeping pills, then lay quietly on the bed while staring at the ceiling. Softly, she whispered, "John, goodbye forever."

With that, Jennifer closed her eyes and never woke up again.

Meanwhile, in the Meadowbrook Villa.

Summer and Loren were still working out in the training room.

Aurora had some fruit and went back to her room to rest.

She picked up a comprehensive pregnancy cookbook and started flipping through it, yet the more she read, the hungrier she got.

Aurora licked her lips and muttered, "This was a bad idea."

Why was she reading a cookbook in the middle of the night?

Just as Aurora was about to switch books, she heard John's car engine turn off.

Soon, John came in.

Aurora was looking for a book on the shelf while asking, "Where did you go? You're back so late. By the way, I remember there was a classic book on the shelf. Where did it go?"

"I'll get it." John walked over, and reached out to take it from the top shelf.

"This is the one." Aurora muttered, "I was reading a cookbook just now, and it made me hungry. Better read something else to fall asleep."

John looked at Aurora, his gaze tender yet complex. Wearing pajamas and with her hair down, Aurora looked softer than usual.

Her rambling made him envision their life together decades later, filling his heart with warmth.

Aurora's belly was already showing, especially when she lay down, with a noticeable bump.

Seeing John standing by the shelf without movements, Aurora asked, puzzled, "What's wrong with you? Did you get all melancholic after going out?"

John composed himself, then decided, "Aurora, let's get married tomorrow."

"So soon?" Aurora asked, "Is tomorrow a special day?"

John walked over, then gently caressed her soft hair. With a warm smile, he said, "Every day with you is a special day."

Aurora laughed. "Your sweet talk is getting better."

John wrapped his arm around Aurora's waist. "Let's go tomorrow. I want your name to appear in my spouse column as soon as possible."

"Okay." Aurora nodded with a smile. "Let's go tomorrow."

No need to be pretentious. It's bound to happen sooner or later.

"Aurora, I promise to cherish and love you for the rest of my life. From now on, my world revolves around you."

Simple and sincere words often had the most impact, and Aurora felt sweetness in every cell of her body.

The next day.

John got up early, and rummaged through the closet, tossing clothes all over the bed and sofa, just like a woman might.

Two hours had passed, yet he still hadn't decided what to wear, which tie to choose, or which shoes to put on.

Aurora was speechless as she yawned. "If we don't leave soon, we'll be late."

"Honey, which tie looks better?" John held several ties, unsure of which to pick.

Such an important day shouldn't be taken lightly.

"This one." Aurora picked a silver tie and then pinched John's cheek. "With your looks, anything will look good."

John was greatly pleased by her words. "Alright, I'll listen to you." John let her choose his clothes and pants as well.

Half an hour later, they were finally dressed.

Loren said, "I want to go too."

John held Aurora's hand as they got into the car. "Your mom and I are going to register our marriage. Be good and play around, and I'll bring you something tasty when we get back."

Summer also popped up. "Count me in."

John was in a great mood and said, "Everyone gets a share."

Aurora laughed in the car. She didn't feel nervous, only happy.

John kept his promise and went to register their marriage as soon as he regained his sight.

He took a shortcut to the office and quickly completed the process.

Before even leaving the civil affairs office, John hastily posted their marriage certificate on social media, causing the entire internet to crash.

Dear Valued Readers,

I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support and the joy you've shown for my ongoing serial novel. Your engagement with the story has been nothing short of inspiring.

After much reflection, I've made the decision to transition from daily updates of three chapters to weekly updates with the same volume. Here's why:

Enhancing the Narrative: I believe that by giving myself more time between updates, I can weave a richer tapestry of events, characters, and emotions. This will not only improve the quality of each chapter but also ensure that the story develops in a way that truly captivates.

Personal Well-being: Writing is my passion, but it also requires a sustainable approach. To keep the story flowing for the long term, I need to take care of my health and maintain a balance between my creative work and personal life. This adjustment will allow me to do that.

Creative Space: The new schedule will provide me with the space to explore different angles and ideas, ensuring that each chapter adds value to the overall narrative arc.

I understand that this change might come as a surprise and might not be welcomed by all. For any inconvenience or disappointment this causes, I sincerely apologize. Please know that this decision was made with the story's best interest at heart, and I am committed to delivering content that will make each wait worthwhile.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and for joining me on this storytelling adventure. I look forward to sharing more with you soon!
