Chapter 401 John's Trump Card

Jack looked uncomfortable, and Aurora chuckled, resting her chin on her hand. "My little Jack has grown up. You're not that crybaby who used to follow me around anymore."

"Aurora, I'll always be your brother," Jack said, linking his arm with hers. "No matter what, you'll always be my favorite sister."

"Such sweet talk," Aurora laughed. "Enough of that. By the way, John and I are leaving in a couple of days. There's a lot to handle back in Silvercrest City, and the company needs attention, too. You should come back to the White Group and help out instead of racing all the time."

"Yes, ma'am," Jack grinned. "Aurora, the scenery on this island is amazing. It's hard to leave. Even Sunrise City can't compare. By the way, about that Mistveil Forest..."

Aurora interrupted, "Don't go there. John mentioned it's the final training ground for those about to leave the island. Only those who make it through can graduate, but only half of them manage to do it on their own. You're not strong enough for that place."

"That intense?" Jack was surprised.

"Yes," Aurora glanced at the computer screen showing Summer carrying Kawaii back. "By the way, Mom picked up Richard's body. He's buried in Northside Cemetery. When you get back, visit his grave if you can."

"Aurora, why bring him up?" Jack frowned. "I'm not going."

As he spoke, Jack started coughing violently, clutching his chest, his face pale.

"Jack, are you in pain again?" Aurora panicked and called for Gary.

Jack collapsed onto the sofa, still coughing.

Gary rushed in, checked Jack's pupils, and pinched his philtrum, ordering, "Take him to the lab."

People immediately carried Jack away.

Aurora, needing to care for Trey and Jax, couldn't follow. She stopped Gary. "Mr. Collins, will Jack be okay?"

"It shouldn't be too serious," Gary replied. "Aurora, leave him to me."

"Thank you."

After Jack was taken away, Aurora waited in the room for a while. John hadn't returned yet, so she left the kids with someone on the island and went out.

She asked around and quickly found out where John was.

In the information department.

A young man offered, "Mrs. Lewis, I'll take you to Mr. Lewis."

"Alright."

Aurora didn't dare wander the island alone.

The information room wasn't far, just a few minutes' walk.

"Mrs. Lewis, Mr. Lewis is inside."

"I'll go in myself," Aurora said.

She pushed open the door. The room was large, with everyone busy at their stations. Seeing Aurora, they respectfully greeted, "Hello, Mrs. Lewis."

Aurora remained silent.

John was in an inner room. Aurora pushed the door open and saw a surprising scene.

"Mr. Lewis, I really like you. I want to be your woman, even if just once. Please, pity me," a well-built woman said emotionally, grabbing John's hand and placing it on her chest. "Mr. Lewis, I've loved you since the day I arrived on the island..."

"Get out," John quickly pulled his hand away, his expression darkening. "If this happens again, you'll leave Nightfall."

"Mr. Lewis," the woman, her eyes red, was stunned by John's outburst.

Aurora stood at the door, clearing her throat to announce her presence.

John turned and saw Aurora, feeling a sense of dread.

"Aurora, let me explain."

"I don't want to hear it," Aurora said, covering her ears, looking heartbroken. "John, I take care of the kids at home, working hard, and you go behind my back to flirt with women."

John pressed his lips together in silence.

That sounded a bit exaggerated.

Aurora stormed in, pointing at the woman. "If you found someone prettier than me, fine. But her? No chest, no butt, not even a tenth of my beauty. Who are you trying to insult?"

The woman was silent, as well as silent.

The woman looked at her chest and butt, blushing. "I do have..."

Aurora interrupted, "Exactly, you have no chest or butt. You're as thin as a stick, and you dare let my husband touch you? Touching bones?"

"Mr. Lewis!" The woman's pride was crushed. Her eyes, already red, filled with tears.

"Get out," John said impatiently. "Justina, you knew the rules when you came to the island. Go accept your punishment."

Justina Harrison felt humiliated and ran out, head down, face red.

Only Aurora and John remained in the room.

The atmosphere was awkward.

John coughed lightly, "Aurora, let me explain. I have no idea why she did that."

Aurora's gaze was cold. "John, there are plenty of pretty women on this island. I seriously suspect you've turned this place into your personal harem. As the leader of Nightfall, you can make them do whatever you want."

"Honey, Aurora..."

"Calling me 'honey' won't help."

"Think about what you've done. If it doesn't work out, we'll get a divorce."

With that, Aurora stormed out, furious.

Divorce? No way.

He had worked hard to marry her. He couldn't let an outsider ruin it.

"Aurora, don't be mad," John followed her. "I rejected her. I'm innocent this time."

John followed her to their room, but Aurora didn't look back or show any kindness. She shut the door in his face.

The cold door wind hit John's face, and he stepped back. "Aurora..."

John called for a long time, but no one opened the door. He turned around, dejected, and saw Lori, Ava, Todd, Sam, Summer, and Loren standing behind him.

They all had amused expressions.

Lori grinned, "John, did you upset my cousin again?"

John coughed, trying to be serious. "This is just marital fun. You single folks wouldn't understand."

Loren laughed, "Dad, you got kicked out by Mom."

Summer added, "Dad, everyone on the island knows you chased Mom from the information room to here."

That was fast. John was silent.

Soon, the story of Justina confessing to John and Aurora catching them spread across the island.

Todd and the others looked entertained.

"Finally, some excitement on the island."

Lori rolled her eyes at Todd. "You men can't control yourselves."

Todd protested, "Lori, between us, who can't control themselves? I saw you drooling over them this morning."

Lori walked away.

John spent the whole day trying to appease Aurora, to no avail. He knew she wasn't really angry. She wouldn't care about a hypocritical woman like Justina. She was just being petty.

Marital conflicts shouldn't last overnight; they must be resolved the same day. John had to use his last resort.

John paced outside the room and called Sam. "Get me a wig and a bikini, now."
