Chapter 100 The Name with Only Two Letters, JH

In the Harriman Group.
Gabriel had always been meticulous in his work, staying up late with the company employees below him for many years. It was common for the lights in the CEO's office to stay on for two days and nights in a row. Especially recently, amid constant staff turnover and Gabriel's absence last month, a pile-up of crucial documents and meetings has occurred.Landon returned to the company and went directly to the floor where the CEO's office was located by elevator.
Gabriel had just returned from a meeting and was walking out of another elevator. Wayne followed behind him, speaking in a measured tone, "The contract issues re-drafted by the Lewis Group are significant. Their board and management are crafty, previously in contact with Simon's side, conceding five percentage points. Although the concession condition hasn't changed, it's clear they’ve pulled other tricks in the contract, trying to take advantage of our recent personnel changes to intervene in the recent international interest rate changes."
Gabriel walked towards the office, passing by Landon, his eyes lingering on Landon's face for a second before continuing without stopping.
Once inside the office, he checked the time and walked towards the interior, saying, "You are responsible for monitoring the Lewis Group’s contract. There's no need to spend time on other aspects."
Wayne followed. "Understood."
As Landon entered the office, Gabriel turned to him, "The Imperial Capital Financial Investment team needs to complete a full team replacement within a week. The department that is directly responsible for financial bond analysis also has some issues in Xyleria. The analysts are not up to par and will need to be replaced sooner or later. We can consider partnering with a bond analysis company."
Landon asked, "How about RH Bond Agency?"
Gabriel replied calmly, "They can be added to the list of candidates. Speaking of RH's Mr. Baker, he has been showing promise on Wall Street recently. He is efficient in his actions and has exceptional intelligence. He would be a good partner, but his organization is not yet mature."
Landon nodded.
"Stellar Properties Limited has been cut off from funding for over four months. Wayne, find a time to talk to their boss. Also, for now, ignore the contact between Lewis Group's Mr. Armstrong and Simon. No one needs to intervene, and it's not the right time."
"Okay."
Wayne saw that Gabriel didn't sit behind the desk, indicating that the official matters had been discussed. There were still some details from the meeting that needed to be sorted out by assistants, so he left the office directly.
Gabriel stood in front of the large French windows. It was exactly nine o'clock at night, with the bustling city center filled with traffic and neon lights.
Landon approached. "Mr. Harriman, the items have been delivered."
Gabriel, with one hand in his pocket, gazed out the window indifferently. "Okay."
"Miss Jessica didn't dare to accept them, so I had to force them on her. Perhaps I didn't handle it properly."
Gabriel glanced at him sideways. "She didn't stuff the card into your mouth, so she's already giving you face."
Landon wanted to say,' Probably because I ran fast. '
At that moment, Gabriel took out his cellphone, lowered his gaze, and, with his slender and distinct fingers, entered the cellphone number he had become so familiar with over the past month.
As he saved Jessica's number, he opened the messaging app.
Landon, standing nearby, suddenly said, "Mr. Harriman, it seems like people don't send many text messages nowadays."
He glanced at Gabriel, who returned a chilly look. He felt his own limited experience with women and emotional dullness, but Mr. Harriman seemed even more drab.Landon quickly averted his eyes, saying vaguely, "People use WhatsApp more."
Gabriel paused for a moment, then opened WhatsApp with a detached expression.
Seeing Mr. Harriman directly adding Jessica's phone number, searching, and adding her as a contact, Landon couldn't help but marvel at the rare sight before him. He wondered if one day he might be silenced by Mr. Harriman.
After all, since the introduction of this app, everyone in the company had registered for convenience, but Mr. Harriman, although he had registered, had only added Nicholas as a friend. He had hardly ever used WhatsApp.
However, for anything else in the future, just communicated directly via phone as usual. Mr. Harriman really didn't need these things.
Jessica carried Danielle's gifts upstairs. Besides a few dolls and dresses, she temporarily stored everything else in the envelope brought by Landon, along with the black card.
After bathing Danielle in the children's room and blow-drying her hair, Jessica was also getting ready to take a bath. She turned on the bedroom light and saw the clothes that Gabriel had used neatly packed in a cardboard box by her.
She quickly looked away and headed straight to the bathroom.
Before she could enter the bathroom, the phone placed in the living room suddenly started ringing, and she hurriedly ran out to grab the cellphone.
It was a WhatsApp voice message from Mackenzie. Mackenzie also knew it was too late now, so she cut to the chase and said, "Your recent exposure on Twitter has caught the attention of advertisers due to your image and your role in Charles II. They are optimistic about your future prospects and are considering collaborating with you on a more approachable skincare brand. Currently, it's a brand ambassador role. If the ad performs well, we can consider promoting you to a brand ambassador or endorsing a specific product line in six months. I've already arranged it for you."
Jessica pondered for a moment. "Which skincare brand is it? Is it reliable?"
"Absolutely reliable! I'll send you the details. Take a look when you have time."
"Okay."
After ending the voice message, Mackenzie quickly sent her the details.
Jessica opened it and was surprised to see that it was a well-known domestic brand specializing in daily cleansing and skincare products, popular for decades in the country. The prices were very affordable, and almost every household used their products.
She replied to Mackenzie with an “OK” gesture emoji and was about to put down the cellphone to take a shower when she noticed anew friend.. Someone had added her on WhatsApp.
She clicked on it and saw a profile picture of a white background with two gray letters.
In this day and age, who still uses such basic profile pictures?
Could it be a robot with a cellphone virus?
Without hesitation, Jessica ignored, put down the cellphone decisively, and went straight into the main bedroom to take a shower.
