Chapter 291 Is That Charm Villa Yours?

Seeing Jessica so shocked she could barely eat, Gabriel said, "At Azure Water Bay."

Hearing the name Azure Water Bay, Jessica's shock deepened.

She looked at Gabriel in disbelief. "I've heard there's a private estate there called Charm Villa."

Gabriel's refined eyebrows raised slightly. Jessica still couldn't believe it. "Itis yours?"

Gabriel picked a piece of deboned fish and put it into her open mouth, calmly saying, "It will be yours, too."

Jessica fell silent.

"Charles II" was still airing, and thanks to Jessica's popularity and the recent dance double incident, she was a regular on the trending lists. Her fan base was growing, and her studio members were busier than ever.

On the set of "Sweet Ferris Wheel," which Jessica was still filming, fans often came to visit. But due to the large number of fans, the crew had set up barriers to prevent leaks and disruptions to the filming schedule.

Even when Jessica was getting in and out of the car, she could still see a crowd of young fans waiting outside.

Since it was inconvenient for her to get out of the car, she asked Zoey to buy over twenty cups of hot coffee for the fans, telling Zoey to remind them to go home early and not to visit the set anymore, as it was too cold to be outside.

Inside the RV.

Mackenzie hadn't answered calls or messages for two days. During a break in filming, Jessica asked Zoey, "Has Mackenzie been on a business trip these past two days? She disappeared out of nowhere."

Zoey looked puzzled. "I don't know. I haven't seen her for two days either, and she hasn't replied to any messages."

That was strange.

In this age of the Internet, how could someone suddenly disappear for two days without even replying to a single instant message ?

Could something have happened?

"If she stays out of touch, we should call the police tonight," Jessica said half-jokingly, half-seriously, then picked up her script and got out of the car to continue filming.

Donna's acting was still terrible, and she continued to clash with Jessica whenever they met.

But Jessica had become so popular recently that Donna, a female idol, was completely overshadowed by Jessica's fan base. Donna couldn't cause much trouble anymore, except for making Jessica redo scenes by intentionally messing up. However, when Jessica had to redo scenes, the whole crew suffered, and privately, everyone had a low opinion of Donna. In contrast, they praised Jessica for her dedication and professionalism. Knowing about Jessica's past dance double incident and recognizing her acting skills, they believed that the award she was robbed of five years ago would eventually be rightfully hers.

Jessica didn't participate in these discussions. After finishing a scene, she would either discuss the next scene's emotions and lines with the director or return to the RV.

Zoey didn't know what Jessica had been up to these past two days.

"Jessica, what on earth are you working on?" Zoey couldn't help but ask when she saw Jessica sitting at the makeup table, seriously fiddling with something.

Getting closer, Zoey saw a small silver object in Jessica's hand but couldn't tell what it was.

Jessica continued to work on the object and said, "It's my heart."

Zoey was stunned.

Jessica's tone was like that of a girl in love.

Forget it, she wouldn't ask anymore! She didn't want to see this display of affection and get upset!

Jessica ignored Zoey's annoyed expression and kept working while keeping track of the time.

There was about a week left until New Year's. If she worked on it a little each day, she would definitely finish it before then.

That night, they still couldn't reach Mackenzie. Jessica was really planning to call Cynthia to report Mackenzie missing for over forty-eight hours, but before she could, Star Entertainment called her.

The company's artist director said that Mackenzie had gone on a last-minute business trip abroad and had trouble with her phone signal. She had finally contacted the company and asked them to inform Jessica not to worry so that she could focus on filming.

In this day and age, what country would have such bad phone signal for so many days? Even with a temporary foreign SIM card, she could still access the internet and reply on WhatsApp.

The reason was flimsy, but since the call came from the company, Jessica didn't ask further. She did mention it to Cynthia.

Cynthia said that with Mackenzie's personality, she would have contacted Jessica directly to reassure her, not through the company. Even if Mackenzie had gone abroad and nothing had happened, the company must be hiding something from Jessica.

This matched Jessica's thoughts.

What could be going on?

With Jessica's current popularity, Mackenzie should be fully invested in her work, excited about Jessica's rise to fame.

The next day, Mackenzie still hadn't contacted Jessica.

Jessica took advantage of a few hours of free time in the afternoon to drive to Star Entertainment's office building.

She had been signed by Mackenzie in the M Country and managed by Mackenzie along with two other artists. Mackenzie had opened a studio outside and was one of the bosses, but they were backed by a larger agency, Star Entertainment Media Group. This agency wasn't as powerful as Four Seas Entertainment. The company president had other businesses and wasn't particularly invested in the entertainment industry, and the staff was scattered. Despite being called a group, the office building wasn't very large.

Upon entering, she directly asked to see the artist director to inquire about Mackenzie.

Hearing that Jessica had arrived, the artist director quickly came downstairs to greet her, took her upstairs to the office, and called in an assistant to serve her, asking Jessica to wait.

"I have to get back to filming soon, so I don't have much time to wait here," Jessica said, checking the time and looking warily at the artist director's smiling face.

She hadn't forgotten that when she was unknown and occasionally accompanied Mackenzie to the company, no one had given her a second glance. The artist director, in particular, had been very dismissive, not even offering her a seat and making her wait outside.

Now, with such a change in attitude, Jessica felt it wasn't just because she was now famous and could bring higher profits to the company. There had to be other reasons.
