Chapter 239: So Intimate

Trinity thought her words would hit hard, but after she finished speaking, she saw that Jessica remained calm, showing no displeasure at her words, nor any signs of agitation from being confined at home.
Suddenly, she turned on her phone, scrolled to a photo, and handed it to Jessica.
Jessica glanced at her and took the phone.
On the screen was a photo from an unknown source.
In the photo, there was a side profile of Gabriel, who was tilting his head, indulging the girl next to him as she leaned in to talk. Although his full face wasn't visible, given his aversion to taking photos, this was already quite indulgent. Despite his indifferent expression, Gabriel's impeccable features were still strikingly handsome in the photo. The girl next to him, showing half her face, was smiling with eyes curved in happiness, standing intimately close to Gabriel, arm to arm.
There were two other figures in the photo, a large European-style dining table, and although the other two weren't in focus, it was clear they were a middle-aged couple. From the table setting to some English words in the background, it seemed to be at Gabriel's parents' home in the UK. The middle-aged couple's somewhat blurry facial features did resemble Gabriel, suggesting they were indeed his parents.
Gabriel and the young girl, who looked just over twenty, seemed to be getting along well, a perfect match.
Especially, they were so intimate.
"Curious about the source of this photo? It's not something just anyone can find." Trinity raised an eyebrow as she saw Jessica staring at the photo without a word. "This was taken a few months ago when Gabriel went back to the UK. By then, you two should have been quite familiar or even together, right? But look at that girl, don't you think they look very close, very sweet, very well-matched? And they've even met the parents."
Jessica said nothing, her eyes still on the photo.
"And as far as I know, Gabriel only has a brother, never heard of a sister. So, if we rule out family ties, who do you think this girl is? An undisclosed fiancée? A secret girlfriend? A future daughter-in-law approved by his parents? The love of his life? Or what?" Trinity emphasized each word, striking at Jessica. "Anyway, whoever she is, she's not you."
"So Jessica, don't think you can be fearless just because you're with Mr. Harriman. You can be replaced at any time; any woman can take your place. You are nothing."
After two minutes of silence, Jessica looked up and handed the phone back to her. "Trinity, I've lived for twenty-four years, not relying on anyone to survive. Five years ago, I didn't need anyone to back me up to crawl out alive."
Seeing no change in Jessica's expression, Trinity took back the phone and scrutinized her eyes again.
There was no sign of emotional breakdown.
"What? You've finally latched onto someone powerful, and you're just playing along? Gabriel didn't make you fall for him? Or are you still thinking about Keegan?"
"So what if I am?" Jessica's face didn't falter; she even smiled a bit. "After all, your engagement is off. What right do you have to question whether I think about him or not?"
Trinity's face instantly turned cold. "You really think highly of yourself.""I don't need to define myself. Just seeing how guarded you are against me makes it clear how insecure you feel about Keegan," Jessica continued with a more meaningful smile. "As far as I know, even after you got engaged to Keegan, there have been rumors about other women around him. Although they were just rumors and some photos, those women who got close to him all had one thing in common."
Trinity's hand clenched tightly, barely restraining the urge to tear off Jessica's smiling face.
"They all look a lot like me, don't they?"
"Trinity." Jessica walked towards her.
Trinity instinctively took a step back.
Jessica kept walking forward, and as Trinity retreated step by step, she spoke clearly, "Whether or not I want to look back at Keegan, you've never won against me when it comes to him. Even after you won the grand slam with the movie 'Red Cavalier,' you were still afraid of my presence. Even today, you set traps everywhere, thinking I wouldn't know about your private dealings with Deborah and Donna? But all the pits you've dug for me haven't had much effect. Instead, you've become more and more wary of me, afraid that one day I'll trample you underfoot."
Seeing Trinity's face turn paler and angrier, Jessica chuckled lightly, her eyes full of undisguised disdain. "You think you have everything and that crushing me would be easy. But think carefully, what exactly do you have that can crush me? Even the Jenner family can't easily confine or kill me now. I'm no longer the unnoticed girl in your family. If something happens to me or I disappear, you won't be able to cover it up."
Trinity suddenly stopped retreating and retorted, "No wonder you insist on staying in the entertainment industry with your level of talent. Turns out you were just looking for protection?"
"Not just that." Jessica didn't argue, just smiled lightly. "For more detailed reasons, your mother Linda knows better than I do. What, she didn't tell you?"
Trinity's face froze.
Sure enough, Linda hadn't told her.
And rightly so.
After all, if it were revealed that Trinity might not be Eugene's biological daughter, Linda wouldn't dare to say it. If it ever got exposed, the Jenner family's scandals would be enough to fuel gossip for years.
No matter how wealthy and powerful Linda was in private, she still cared about her reputation.
A servant knocked on the door from outside. "Mrs. Jenner, Mrs. Jenner, Mr. Jenner and Madam are calling you. The food is getting cold."
Trinity, having gained no upper hand, looked visibly upset and didn't want to deal with Jessica anymore, nor did she want Jessica touching her things.
Coincidentally, Jessica didn't want to touch them either.
She casually grabbed two disinfectant wipes from the table, didn't change her clothes, and turned to leave.
As she walked out, her back to Trinity, the calm smile on Jessica's face faded just a little.
"Look at that girl. Don't you think they look very close, very sweet, very well-matched? And they've even met the parents."
"Who do you think this girl is? An undisclosed fiancée? A secret girlfriend? A future daughter-in-law approved by his parents? The love of his life? Or what?"
"Anyway, whoever she is, she's not you."
"Jessica, do you want to step into my world?"
"Do you want to try with me?"
Those two husky, affectionate sentences echoed in her ears.
Jessica silently wiped her hands and face with the disinfectant wipes and walked downstairs without a word.
