Chapter 599 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 84

Before Jessica got out of the car, she had already counted the remaining money. Even though she had bought slippers for Melissa and some useful but inexpensive items for everyone, she and Gabriel still had the most money left. She had about a hundred dollars and some change in her wallet.

Ready-to-eat meals were definitely out of their budget, but given everyone's financial situation, Jessica and Gabriel were the only ones who could realistically decide what they would all eat for dinner.

"Alright, let's see what everyone wants to eat first," Jessica suggested as she picked up a box of ready-to-eat rice from the shelf. "This is thirty-eight dollars a box, and it’s quite a lot. I'll buy two boxes, and anyone who wants some can share. Then we can look at other things like bread. We need to make sure we have a good meal before we get to the island."

"Thirty-eight dollars a box, and you're buying two for us? Won't that leave you with almost nothing?" Cindy asked, surprised.

"This is only the second stop. We'll get more funds when we need them. We can't spend money on the island anyway. If we don't spend some now, a hundred dollars might not even buy us a cup of instant noodles on the island," Jessica said, placing the two boxes of ready-to-eat rice into the shopping cart.

[Everyone else is stressing over their five or ten dollars, and Jessica spends seventy-six dollars without a second thought, not even for herself. Who says Jessica is aloof and looks down on the other guests? Who says she's just putting on an act? In times like these, people's true nature shows, and Jessica is just being herself. The conspiracy theorists can shut up now.]

[Who knew Jessica still had so many fans even though she's almost retired from the scene?]

[Whether she retires or not isn't important. What matters is the great work she leaves behind. That's better than some people who have been in the industry for years without a single notable piece.]

[Why is there always so much arguing in the comments? Can't we enjoy the live stream?]

[You have to look deeper. Gabriel never interrupts or stops Jessica. He quietly supports his wife. Even though Jessica married into the wealthy Harriman family, she’s not constantly suffering. Mr. Harriman indulges and spoils her. There's no macho attitude here. This kind of relationship is enviable. The conspiracy theories need to stop.]

[So, buying two boxes of ready-to-eat rice is showing off their relationship?]

[It's the little things that count. Mr. Harriman has no objections at all. He truly cares for Jessica!]

The comments continued to debate whether Jessica's generous act was a subtle way of showing off her relationship or demonstrating her friendliness.

Rachel walked into the store, picked up a small box of pre-cut fruit, glanced at the price, and put it back. She turned around and said, "This is probably just the mindset of a CEO's wife. No matter what, she never has to worry about money, so she doesn't think twice about spending it."

Brent, who had just snuck off to the men's room for a quick smoke, came back in, hiding his lighter as he entered the store. Hearing Rachel's comment, he spoke up before anyone else could, "That's not fair. Who here is really short on money in real life? At times like these, sticking together is the right mindset. If you don't want to eat, no one's forcing you."
