Chapter 110 Watching Her Lying in front of Him in a State of Unconsciousness

Murdock happened to be coming to the restroom at this moment. Hearing the commotion and thinking that Jessica had offended Nicholas in some way, he quickly came over to help smooth things over.
"What's wrong, Jessica?" Sebastian walked up. Seeing Nicholas's unpleasant expression and Jessica's pleading look, he quickly interjected, "Nicholas, this is..."
Nicholas gave Jessica a dark look, but Jessica suddenly flashed a look of seeking help and swiftly moved behind Sebastian, whispering exaggeratedly, "Murdock, I didn't mean to."
Nicholas raised his hand as if to point at Jessica but then dropped it, gritted his teeth, and said, "It's nothing; she just accidentally stepped on my shoe when she came out. I asked a couple of questions, and unexpectedly, it scared her."
As he spoke, he once again glared at Jessica with a look of 'really scared,' forcibly holding back his anger.
If it weren't for the fact that she was his future sister-in-law, and if it weren't for Gabriel's sake.
Nicholas forced a smile, glancing at Sebastian, who was clearly about to intervene on Jessica's behalf. "Forget it; it's just a pair of shoes. Let's all go back and have dinner."
After saying that, he even smiled, suggesting he was a good leader who didn't fuss over minor issues with actors.
Sebastian quickly signaled to Jessica, and Jessica swiftly turned and made her escape.
After exchanging a few casual words with Sebastian and seeing him off, Nicholas stood in the corridor outside the restroom, looked down at his shoes, took out his cellphone, snapped a picture, and sent it to Gabriel.
Five minutes later, Gabriel replied.
Gabriel: [?]
Nicholas: [I just bought these leather shoes! The latest Y brand autumn style, only worn for less than half an hour! You reimburse me!]
Gabriel: [Who stepped on them?]
Nicholas: [Jessica!]
Gabriel: [Why did she step on you?]
Nicholas: [I arranged a dinner for their crew, wanted to greet her formally, but when she saw me, she went all out on me! In my opinion, you must have offended her when you were at her home; she must have taken an instant dislike to you, so she directly extended that dislike to me, too!]
After typing out this long string of words, he felt it wasn't enough, so he sent a voice message directly. "I see this is your first time chasing a woman; you might end up with your first failure record in her hands; Jessica is really tricky; what exactly do you see in her?"
After sending it, Nicholas's anger dissipated in an instant; his survival instinct suddenly surged up, and he quickly added, "But seeing how rare it is for you to pay so much attention to a woman, do you want me to get her drunk for you, and then you can take her away? Whether to take her back to Charm Villa or Blue Bay Apartments, I don't care!"
Gabriel: [I'm at the airport, don't let her drink.]
Only then did Nicholas remember that his Grandfather Michael had vaguely mentioned before that the Harriman Group's branch in City L had significant drawbacks due to a capital restructuring project. However, if Gabriel didn't intervene, the project would continue. Gabriel had just finished a mountain of work upon his return and was about to fly to City L.
This back-and-forth would take at least three or four days.
Nicholas continued with a voice message. "Alright, with a beautiful woman drunk in your arms, you're letting go of such a good opportunity, your self-control is impressive!"
Although Nicholas said that he definitely couldn't let Jessica drink now, he still had to give instructions later.
Gabriel didn't reply.
It wasn't a matter of self-control, but there was nothing to explain.
It wasn't the right time yet, given Jessica's temperament, if she was still avoiding him at this point, and if she really got drunk and he took her away, what could he do?
Even if he did something against her sober consciousness, when she woke up, she would only run further away without looking back.
If he did nothing, just watched her lying in front of him in an unconscious state all night?
He didn't have that kind of masochistic tendency.
Three days later.
Finally, after waiting for a day off, Jessica was already very tired.
After several days of packed filming schedules, coupled with the advertisements that Mackenzie had signed for her, Jessica had been shooting for over ten hours on set during the day and then for over eight hours in the props room set up by the advertising side in the evening. When she finally had a chance to rest in the latter part of the night, she fell asleep in the car.
She slept until after two in the afternoon when she got home. Then, with a head full of messy hair, she got up to take a shower and went to pick up Danielle on time.
Although it was autumn, the weather was still a bit hot in the afternoon today, but the evening sun was warm without being too scorching. Jessica held Danielle's chubby little hand and walked back home. Jessica and Danielle played and picked up yellowing fallen leaves from the ground, using the stems of the leaves to playfully tug at each other, seeing whose leaf was sturdier.
A journey of less than twenty minutes took them over forty minutes.
"Mommy, let's keep playing!"
"No more! The leaf in my hand is invincible! Danielle, what kind of selections have you chosen? Why can't you let me experience the feeling of failure?"
Jessica held a long leaf stem in her hand, looking proud as she teased pouting Danielle. Then she laughed and raised the stem in her hand, not letting Danielle grab it, and walked briskly along the roadside.
"Mommy, let me borrow that one! I want that one!" Danielle chased after Jessica, her short legs quickly catching up.
After chasing for a while, Danielle suddenly stopped and bent down to earnestly stare at a particularly large fallen leaf on the ground as if she had discovered a treasure. She quickly picked it up and excitedly ran with the leaf in hand. "Mommy, try this one!"
Seeing the obviously large but fragile leaf in her hand, Jessica raised an eyebrow. "This is the last time. We've been walking on this road for a long time. If we dawdle any longer, it'll be dark."
Danielle hadn't had enough fun but still half-pouted and said, "Okay~"
Seeing how well-behaved Danielle was, Jessica played with her one more time and then solemnly handed the leaf to her.
Danielle was so happy as if she had received some special reward, bouncing all the way back home.
Not far away, someone standing across the pedestrian road raised their cellphone and took several photos of the happy Jessica and Danielle walking hand in hand back home, quietly contacting two media outlets, hoping to sell them for a good price.
With Harriman Entertainment overseeing, those photos naturally weren't leaked but ended up on Nicholas's cellphone.
Nicholas drove back to the Harriman family, received the photos sent by the person responsible for intercepting the media, casually opened them, and took a look, but then suddenly had a pensive expression as he enlarged the photos, looking at the face of that pretty little girl.
How could there be a child next to Jessica?
Especially that look in the child's eyes, it seemed so familiar!
