Chapter 682 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 167

Elise looked bewildered and shocked, glancing at Jessica, then at Gabriel, who remained expressionless but furrowed his stern brows slightly.

Clearly, Gabriel had no intention of playing along with this sudden familial connection.

Elise certainly didn't dare to call him that.

She swallowed nervously. "Jessica, Mr. Harriman is still Mr. Harriman, I think I should..."

"It's fine, just call him brother-in-law from now on," Jessica said with a grand wave of her hand.

Elise wasn't particularly anxious; if Jessica wanted her to call him that, she would comply. But when she glanced at Gabriel, it was clear he wasn't going to play along.

Gabriel didn't show overt coldness, but his seemingly indifferent expression and the clear distance in his eyes were unmistakable.

In the end, Elise didn't call him brother-in-law. Instead, Amy came back with some seasoning and told Elise to hurry over.

Elise took the opportunity to slip away.

Her idol had just had a great conversation with her and even wanted her to be like a sister. This was something Elise had never dreamed of, and she needed some time to process the excitement she hadn't dared to show.

Seeing Elise run off, Cindy, sitting at the table, said, "Mr. Harriman, you wouldn't believe it. Jessica and Elise hit it off after just a few words. Jessica isn't one to put on airs, and knowing Elise genuinely likes her, much like Amy's long-time devotion to Kevin, Jessica, being a star who cherishes her fans, naturally wants to take care of her. They got close quickly, and you walked in right when they were discussing how to address each other."

Gabriel turned to look at Jessica, who had her hand looped through his arm. The fresh scent of Gabriel, who had just showered, was close to her nose.

Gabriel's gaze had been cold when looking at others, but now, as he glanced at her, it was the familiar calm and gentle look she knew.

Jessica gave him a subtle look, asking why he had scared Elise away.

Gabriel released her hand and poured warm water into her half-empty glass, speaking in a low, quiet voice that only she could hear, "I have no interest in being anyone's brother-in-law."

Jessica replied, "Fans just love everything about you, including you. They won't make a big deal out of it."

"Ultimately, we're colleagues. Keep it professional," Gabriel gently placed the glass in front of her, the sound just loud enough to be heard, softly reminding her.

Jessica paused.

Then she said nothing more.

Indeed, in this industry, no matter how pure the initial connection, if it's not purely a fan relationship but also a colleague relationship, there's always a risk of falling out over future collaborations.

Good friends and close buddies turning into enemies was all too common.

Gabriel could see that she genuinely liked Elise and wanted to be friends, enjoying recording the show together.

But Jessica, perhaps thinking of Elise's past devotion as a fan, couldn't help but feel less distant, because in her heart, the love from fans had indeed supported her through some of the toughest times.

However, Elise, no matter how simple, was still a colleague in this industry.

Nothing was eternally unchanging.

Jessica calmly processed Gabriel's reminder, took a sip from her glass, then turned to him and whispered, "I wonder if our future kids will be able to handle having such a clear-headed and strict father like you."
