Chapter 188 Mr. Harriman? Isn't It Mr. Hill?

Chapter 188 Mr. Harriman? Isn't It Mr. Hill?

Caroline heard the door opening and just happened to come out of the kitchen wearing an apron. When she saw Jessica, she smiled and went over to take Jessica's coat. Suddenly, she noticed a very tall and handsome gentleman behind Jessica, which surprised her for a moment.

"Who is this?"

Jessica hadn't introduced yet, but Danielle, who had already heard about Gabriel, ran over in excitement upon seeing him, exclaiming, "It's Uncle Spencer! It's Uncle Spencer! Caroline, it's Uncle Spencer!"

Caroline had indeed heard Danielle mention this mysterious Spencer before, so she quickly and politely nodded to the gentleman, who was obviously not an ordinary person. "So you are Mr. Hill, who Danielle often talks about. Hello, I'm Mrs. Jenner's nanny."

Gabriel was not affected by the mention of 'Mr. Hill' and did not show any disrespect because Caroline was just a nanny. He nodded to Caroline. "Hello."

Jessica had already entered the house and changed her shoes, saying, "Caroline, I invited Mr. Harriman for dinner at home. Please set an extra place for him."

Caroline was still marveling at how this young man seemed extraordinary and had a remarkable aura when she suddenly heard Jessica's words, leaving her a bit puzzled.

Caroline thought, 'Mr. Harriman? Isn't it Mr. Hill?'

Caroline didn't quite understand, but she felt too shy to ask. So she just nodded. "Alright, I'll prepare."

While talking, Caroline suddenly noticed the bandage on Jessica's wrist, and her expression turned serious. "What happened to your hand?"

"No worries, just a minor scrape. It'll be fine in a couple of days without getting wet." Jessica hurriedly pushed Caroline towards the kitchen. "Prepare a couple more dishes."

It wasn't until Caroline returned to the kitchen that Jessica turned back and, as expected, saw Danielle clinging to Gabriel's leg, hugging his thigh.

"Uncle Spencer, did you help my mommy catch the bad guys?" Danielle asked innocently, looking up at him.

Jessica felt puzzled,

Jessica inquired, "How did you know what I was doing?"

Danielle said, "When Aunt Mackenzie brought me back, we met Uncle Spencer in the elevator! Aunt Mackenzie seemed to say that you were going to catch the bad guys, so Uncle Spencer went to find you directly."

Jessica looked at Gabriel, who didn't say much about it, just patted Danielle's head. "Yes, your mommy is very brave. She didn't need my help; she almost beat the bad guys to death on her own."

Jessica thought, 'You don't have to say that to a kid, right?'

"Does my mommy have a weapon?"

Gabriel casually replied, "Yes."

"What kind of weapon?" Danielle asked excitedly.

Gabriel chuckled. "A brick."

Danielle inquired, " What?"

Jessica fell silent.

She thought, 'What's wrong with a brick? Are you looking down on the brick in your mom's hand or what?'

Jessica gave Danielle a stern look. "Have you finished your homework?"

The four-and-a-half-year-old child's weekly homework was to write a few numbers and draw a picture. Not much, but it had to be completed on time.

"I finished writing, but I haven't finished drawing. Mommy, can I finish drawing after dinner?" Danielle asked while tugging at Gabriel's hand and then turning to Jessica, saying, "I want to chat with Uncle Spencer!"

"Dinner will be a while. Finish your drawing first." Jessica assumed a stern, motherly stance.

Danielle pouted. "Uncle Spencer, Mommy won't let us chat. Let's go draw together!"

Jessica gave her a sidelong glance. "Uncle Spencer doesn't  have time to draw with you."

Gabriel gently held Danielle's hand. "Where are we going to draw?"

Jessica was speechless.

Danielle happily said, "To the big study! Caroline has put the drawing paper there!"

Seeing Gabriel and Danielle actually heading to the study, Jessica stood in place and turned her head to look at them.

Jessica thought, 'Can you two look back at me?

'Danielle, I'm your real mother.

'Look at me.

'Hello?

'Look at me?'

Jessica was bored, so she went to the kitchen to help Caroline. Caroline noticed her injured hand and didn't let her help, but Jessica insisted. However, due to the inconvenience of her wrist, she ended up splashing egg liquid on the bandage while beating the eggs.

Caroline was startled and quickly checked the bandage on Jessica's wrist. "This won't do. The egg liquid has seeped in. The wound could get infected. I'll handle things in the kitchen myself. You hurry and get the first aid kit, disinfect it, and bandage it again."

Seeing that Caroline wouldn't let her touch anything in the kitchen at the moment, Jessica had to go out to find the first aid kit.

She thought it was just a wrist injury and nothing serious, but she ended up being clumsy...

Jessica searched for the first aid kit all over the place. Since there was a child in the house, there were inevitably bumps and minor injuries, and she used to help Danielle rescue small animals, so the house was always stocked with a first aid kit.

Where did it go?

Gabriel walked out of the study and saw Jessica searching for something. Her hand, which had been stiff all along, was even more awkward now.

He walked over and saw the slightly yellowish color on the bandage on her wrist. "What happened?"

Jessica was too preoccupied to notice him and continued searching through the cabinets and drawers, hastily replying, "I accidentally splashed egg liquid on it while beating eggs."

Before she could finish her sentence, Gabriel suddenly pulled her arm over, causing Jessica to sit on the sofa.

"Sit still, don't move." Gabriel's expression grew more serious and cold, and he warned her with a glance as Jessica was about to get up.

Jessica subconsciously remained seated on the sofa without moving.

Gabriel went to the kitchen to find Caroline and then entered the main bedroom to retrieve the first aid kit.

Jessica didn't remember putting the first aid kit in the main bedroom; it was probably Caroline who had tidied up and brought it in.

Gabriel came over and placed the first aid kit on the coffee table, gesturing with his eyes for her to raise her hand. "Lift it, don't move recklessly."

Seeing Gabriel's stern expression, Jessica obediently complied.

Until he removed the bandage from her wrist and saw that the small wound that had been treated at the hospital had turned particularly red, especially where the egg liquid had seeped down and touched, Gabriel frowned, showing clear displeasure. "With your hand in this condition, why were you beating eggs?"

"I just wanted to help Caroline..." Jessica's words trailed off.

Not only did she not help, but she also made things worse. How could she admit it?

Gabriel held her hand with one hand and used a disinfectant cotton ball to treat the wound. Jessica endured the pain, instinctively tensing her body while looking up at him.

He lightened his touch, but his tone was not gentle. "Endure it."
