Chapter 84 Not Replying to Messages? Not Answering Calls?

Jessica was confused. Why was he doing that? Her expression froze, mind blanking .
"You've been nursing an injury here for over a month, with minimal physical activity in the room every day. The weather has been nice recently, with no rain. I go downstairs for a few laps to move my limbs," Gabriel patiently explained to Jessica, who was suppressing a hint of anger.
Jessica wanted to pull her hand back, but Gabriel held onto her hand with fingers tightly, not letting go.
The sound emanating from the nearby microwave, she quickly shook his hand off, took out the thawed chicken nuggets, then turned around to find breadcrumbs, casually saying, "I don't ask you these questions anyway."
After finding the breadcrumbs, she lowered her head to coat the chicken nuggets with breadcrumbs, turned her back to him, and said, "You'll leave sooner or later anyway. I don't really care. It's mainly because Danielle is too young. If you ever leave, remember to comfort her for me. I don't want to hear her heartbreaking cries."
She turned around again to get the utensils, and seeing that he hadn't left yet, she impatiently nudged him with her elbow, "Don't stand here blocking the way!"
The man didn't move.
She nudged him again with her elbow. If her hands weren't covered in breadcrumbs, she would have pushed him directly with her hand.
He still didn't move.
Jessica raised her eyes, "What's wrong with you? I'm..."
He suddenly stepped forward, whieJessica instinctively stepped back, staring at him. She even threateningly raised the hand with white breadcrumbs in front of his eyes as if to say that if he didn't leave, she would smear it all over him.
But then she realized he was living in her house now. If his clothes got dirty, wouldn't she have to wash them?
Just as she thought of this, she suddenly felt himapproaching again. Before she could retreat, she was startled by the moment his long legs touched her. She quickly stepped back but stumbled a bit and leaned heavily against the wall in the kitchen.
Gabriel left her no room for extra thoughts. He had already lowered his head and approached, the distance between them getting closer and closer until she could distinctly feel the man's warm breath brushing against her cheek.
Jessica's mind went blank for a moment, unsure whether to push him away or where to place her hands. The caution and resistance on her face were evident, with increasingly clear warning signals in her eyes.
Hisdark eyes were deep and captivating. "Why didn't you reply to messages or answer calls last night?"
"My cell phone is on silent; I don't see them," Jessica didn't even bother to explain deliberately, just vaguely, then nudged him with her elbow again. "Move out of the way!"
Gabriel looked at her with lowered eyes, unmoved.
When his gaze suddenly fell on her lips, Jessica instantly raised her hand. She forcefully covered his mouth, smearing a large piece of breadcrumbs around his mouth and chin, continuing to press hard without mercy, saying angrily, "I've said it before that if you dare to kiss me, I'll make you regret it, just like when I saved you, and then I'll throw you off the cliff to fend for yourself!"
Gabriel remained unfazed, simply pulled her hand away, and leaned closer.
Jessica was shocked. She was completely pressed against the wall behind her, and there was no way to avoid it. Her mind was in chaos. He held one hand, and the other hand was gripped by him, leaving no room for resistance. She shrunk her neck back; the anxiety in her eyes couldn't be more obvious.
Just as the two were close enough to feel each other's breath more clearly, he stopped and looked at her.
Did she have any past romantic experiences? Despite already having Danielle, why did she still look so bewildered and helpless?
"What do you think I'm going to do?" His voice was close, with teasing in his tone.
Jessica stared stiffly at him, at the breadcrumbs smeared on half of his face by her.
"Danielle's chicken nuggets for tonight might be ruined," He said softly.
Jessica hadn't recovered yet. When he leaned forward again, she was once again tense, but he said, "Smell it yourself. Have the breadcrumbs been left out for too long?"
"Really?" Jessica hurriedly sniffed the breadcrumbs on his face.
It seemed like there was indeed a slightly stale smell, not spoiled but definitely damp, long left out.
As she leaned back to smell, he looked down at her.
Jessica raised her hand, wiped the breadcrumbs from his chin onto her fingers, sniffed again, and frowned. "What should we do? If not, I'll just use some flour. Anyway, Danielle isn't too picky as long as it tastes good."
After saying that, she coldly pushed him in front of her. "Get out of the way and stop bothering me!"
Danielle had stopped crying long ago. Seeing Uncle Spencer suddenly being chased out of the kitchen by Mommy, she doubted and asked, "Uncle Spencer, what's on your face?"
Gabriel raised his hand, casually wiped his lips, glanced at the white breadcrumbs on his fingers, and quietly chuckled. "It's nothing. I'll take a shower in the bedroom."
"Okay." Danielle obediently sat back on the sofa, but seeing Spencer's handsome face covered in something, she couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh secretly.
The production team was exceedingly well-informed. Upon learning that Jessica had recovered from her injury, they immediately requested that she return to the set a day earlier, as Jessica had many scenes and a heavy filming schedule.
The day before returning to the set, the staff of the 'Charles II' production team sent a message that the official Twitter of the TV series would announce and tagged the main actors’ names yesterday. They asked Jessica to provide her Twitter and to cooperate with the production team's publicity at any time].
Jessica quickly reviewed the script at night, replied with a simple 'okay,' and re-downloaded the Twitter she had uninstalled before.
Usually, she reads news through browsers or alternate accounts. She did have a verified Twitter account, but she hadn't posted anything in months. When she first registered, Mackenzie helped her post some promotional images of a drama that was airing at the time, as well as some magazine photos that Mackenzie had the studio's staff post on her behalf.
Although Jessica was relatively new to the industry and not very famous, her figure and appearance were highly favored by those in the magazine industry. Even though she didn't have the opportunity to work with top-tier magazines, some decent smaller magazines approached Jessica. It was also a way for her to earn extra income, shooting some magazine covers and inside pages with a campus or minimalist style.
Her Twitter name was simply Jessica, and after following the official Twitter of the production team, she directly exited the Twitter page without further browsing.
A few minutes later, a conspicuous name suddenly appeared in Jessica's Twitter followers list.
