Chapter 151 Mommy, What's That

On a street in Xyleria, a van has been parked for a while.
The middle-aged man, Brandon Sanchez, wearing sunglasses in the car, blew a smoke ring, extinguished the cigarette butt, and said to the paparazzi beside him. "Trinity's side is settled. Give the boss a call again."
This so-called boss was more formidable than Trinity.
He was Trinity's fiancé, Keegan, the CEO of Four Seas Entertainment, which was quite a coincidence!
While Trinity hired people to follow Jessica, Keegan found them and stopped them from following.
Even while they were initially following Jessica, Keegan bought and destroyed some photos of Jessica riding home and doing daily activities like shopping at a nearby supermarket, warning them to pretend to cooperate in front of Trinity and not actually disturb Jessica's peaceful private life.
This made it difficult for them. They wanted to earn Trinity's money, but they wanted to earn Keegan's money even more. After all, whoever pays was the boss. Both bosses must be satisfied, so it became a business deal between the two sides. The followers were no longer so persistent, only occasionally appearing near Jessica, while they had to capture some bland content to appease Trinity.
But today, they did capture something, so they had to send a report to the big boss, whether to destroy it or do something else, they couldn't decide on their own.
The paparazzi in the front seat called Keegan's assistant directly and explained the situation.
The assistant then connected the call to Keegan.
"Mr. Chloe, hello, we're reporting the latest situation of Miss Jessica to you."
Keegan, on the other end of theline, spoke calmly but with a hint of displeasure, "Didn't I tell you to stop following her?"
"Mr. Chloe, don't be angry first. The thing is, we figured that you wouldn't want to focus on Jessica's daily private life, but you must be interested in Jessica's boyfriend."
"What do you mean?"
The paparazzi smiled. "Miss Jessica is a rising star in the entertainment industry. If rumors of her having an outside boyfriend come out, it could have a significant impact on her future. Don't you think so?"
"Cut to the chase.."
He quickly continued, "Today, we saw a cheap car taking Miss Jessica to the set around 6a.m. They had breakfast together in the car. The man in the car seemed like a serious corporate professional, a high-level figure. It's a pity the car was a bit cheap. We don't know if he's cautious or his salary isn't high enough. Considering Miss Jessica's beauty, her boyfriend should be driving a luxury car worth over a million. Don't you think so?"
"Mr. Chloe, we haven't been following Jessica much lately. Today, it was a coincidence that we saw her boyfriend dropping her off at the set early in the morning. If you need the photos, we'll send them to you right away."
Before the sentence finished, Keegan, on the other end of the line, hung up.
The paparazzi said, "He hung up."
"Brandon, should I still send the photos to Mr. Chloe?"
Brandon replied, "Sure. We have received his payment. Mr. Chloe obviously has thoughts about Miss Jessica. The news of an outside boyfriend probably upsets him. If you find out your wife is cheating, it's infuriating. Do you refuse to know about the other man's background, or do you investigate further? Mr. Chloe is aloof; he doesn't waste time. Send him the photos; it won't be wrong."
"Alright, I'll do that," The paparazzi said.
"Best wishes for the wrap-up of Jessica's 'Charles II'!"
"Best wishes for the wrap-up!"
"After more than three months of hard work, we can finally rest for a while! Wish Miss Jessica a bright future!"
On the set of "Charles II," just past noon, the director Joseph and the producer Murdock had already taken some photos with Jessica, and several staff members who had a good relationship with Jessica were saying auspicious words.
After Jessica's wrap-up cake was finished, the other actors who hadn't wrapped up yet still had scenes to shoot in the afternoon, so Jessica left the set.
In the afternoon, she made plans to have dinner with Mackenzie and Zoey at the studio because Jessica's recent work commitments had increased, and the studio was busy, so they hadn't arranged a celebration yet.
After dinner, it was already past four o'clock.
Jessica drove directly to Danielle's current kindergarten.
She came back early today. Even though work would still be busy after the wrap-up, it wouldn't be as unpredictable as on set, working day and night. Finally, she could spend some stable time with Danielle.
She planned to pick up Danielle and tidy up some things in the old house before moving everything here.
During dinner with Mackenzie, the suggestion was for Jessica to stay in a place with better security in the future, not to return to the old house. That place was indeed prone to trouble.
Although the new address was good, it wasn't a long-term solution for Jessica to stay there. After moving everything, she planned to stay here temporarily and look for another suitable place. It would be easier to handle everything in one place rather than running back and forth between the two houses.
"Mummy, are we going back to our old home?" Danielle asked, sitting in the child seat in the back of the car, swinging her little feet and tilting her head to look at Jessica driving in front.
Jessica said, "Yes."
After Jessica replied, her phone suddenly rang.
She stopped the car at a traffic light intersection and answered the call while waiting for the red light.
"Hello, is this Miss Jessica?"
"Yes, this is me."
"We have a package for you. Are you at home?"
Jessica was about to respond when her tone suddenly changed. "I'm not at home. What kind of package is it?"
"It's a small box, not too big or heavy."
"Leave it at the door. I'll pick it up when I get home later."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Jessica continued driving but felt strange.
For safety reasons, even if she bought something online, the name on the delivered package wouldn't be her real name; it would usually be a temporary one.
If it was a package from the crew or work-related, they should have informed her in advance.
Sending a package so quietly, with her real name and phone number on it, to her old house was quite unusual.
The car stopped in the residential area, and Jessica observed the surroundings for any signs of being followed before letting Danielle out of the car. She held Danielle's hand and walked into the old, dimly lit staircase, heading back to the door on the fifth floor.
"Mummy, what's that?" Danielle saw the large box on the ground as soon as she reached the door.
Jessica opened the door and pushed Danielle inside, saying, "You go in first. I'll take a look."
Curiously, Danielle turned to her but soon realized they were back at their old home. She happily ran to the carpet and rolled around as if reminiscing.
