Chapter 684 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 169
"Talking business with Landon? I'll video call Danielle first, then. We can chat after you're done," Jessica whispered to Gabriel as she grabbed her phone and headed out.
Danielle, hearing that her dad was busy, wanted to call out to him but held back, simply smiling at Jessica through the video.
Just as Jessica was about to leave, Gabriel spoke up, "No need to go, bring the phone here."
Jessica glanced at the iPad next to him.
Gabriel casually set the iPad aside, and Landon, hearing the conversation, said, "Alright, Mr. Harriman, we'll leave it at that for today. I'll email you any further details. Take care."
"Okay."
Seeing him hang up so quickly, Jessica moved closer with the phone. Danielle, hearing this, excitedly shouted, "Daddy, Daddy! I miss you so much!"
Her voice filled the study before her face appeared on the screen.
Jessica handed the phone to Gabriel with a smile. He stood up, took the phone, and pulled Jessica to sit beside him on the armchair.
Danielle asked through the video, "Daddy, when are you and Mommy coming back?"
Jessica glanced at the iPad, noticing the numerous pages of company documents. She knew Gabriel would likely be working late tonight, taking advantage of the rare break from recording.
The father-daughter conversations always exceeded Jessica's expectations in warmth. Gabriel's patience with Danielle was even greater than before.
Before they were officially a family, Gabriel had already wanted to be part of their lives. Now that they were truly a family, every time Jessica heard Danielle calling out to her dad and being pampered, she felt an indescribable emotion.
It seemed like Gabriel never intentionally tried to make up for lost time, yet he seamlessly filled in the gaps from those years.
Danielle never felt the absence of a father's love. Instead, she thrived, surrounded by the love of her parents and great-grandparents.
Jessica occasionally leaned in to chat with Danielle, and the three of them talked for quite a while.
Danielle showed no signs of wanting to end the call, and Gabriel clearly didn't want to either.
But Jessica knew he had work to do tonight. After chatting for a bit, she got up to make him a cup of instant coffee from the room.
The hotel wasn't very large, but it was a clean and comfortable five-star place. The room's amenities were decent, though not particularly high-end.
The coffee was a standard supermarket brand.
Gabriel wasn't picky; he drank whatever was available as long as it helped him stay alert.
After making the coffee, Jessica returned to the study. Gabriel was still on the video call, but they could hear the housekeeper telling Danielle it was time for her bath.
Danielle obediently said, "Daddy, I need to go take a bath. Help me say goodbye to Mommy!"
"Mommy's right here, you can say goodbye yourself," Gabriel replied warmly, switching the video to Jessica.
Mother and daughter giggled and said their goodbyes. Jessica placed the coffee on the table and took the phone back. "Even if you have to work tonight, don't stay up too late. You'll regret it in the morning."
