Chapter 569 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 54
When they said everyone was working, they weren't kidding. Under the blazing sun, they toiled until 3:30 in the afternoon. The female guests were nearly exhausted and took the opportunity to sit in the temporary shade set up by the staff, sipping water and eating watermelon.
Of course, getting chilled watermelon came with a price—they had to trade at least three buckets of rubber for it.
The women gathered around the table, enjoying their "expensive" watermelon slices, chatting casually while keeping an eye on the men still working hard under the sun. The natural breeze blowing through the shade made it cool and comfortable.
Jessica quietly ate a couple of bites of watermelon before grabbing a nearby bottle of water to drink, not continuing with the fruit.
Noticing this, Debra handed her a box of non-chilled watermelon that the production team had given her. "Jessica, can't handle too much cold stuff? Here, have mine. I only had a couple of pieces with a fork; most of it is untouched."
"No, no, thank you. I need to cool down a bit." Jessica smiled as she took the box, then politely placed it on the small table between them. She smiled warmly, "Filming usually feels tough, but in this industry, how tough can it really get? Today was a real taste of hard work. The production team even set up a shade and gave us watermelon. We're actually quite lucky."
"That's true, but today is the hottest day of the year. I saw you almost couldn't stand a few times. You usually seem pretty fit. Did you get heatstroke?" Debra asked, pouring more water into Jessica's cup with concern.
"I don't think it's heatstroke, but it might be the heat making me a bit dizzy and nauseous, just a little." Jessica gently rubbed her stomach. "I'm feeling better now."
"Nauseous?" Cindy, with her sharp ears, turned to look at Jessica, her eyes gleaming with a knowing expression.
Jessica immediately understood, waving her hand with a smile. "It's just the heat, really."
But inside, her heart skipped a beat.
It hadn't been that long since Michael and Seraphina mentioned having another baby. The past few months had been so busy that she hadn't given it much thought. But in the month before coming to film, Gabriel had taken time to be with her and Danielle, either at home or at South Hill Villa for a short vacation. They enjoyed family time during the day, and after Danielle went to sleep in the children's room at night, she and Gabriel...
They hadn't been using any birth control.
Everyone's an adult, and such topics aren't taboo, but since they were filming, Jessica thought it couldn't be that quick. Both she and Gabriel were so busy, it shouldn't happen that fast, right?
Seeing Jessica's response, Cindy didn't push the topic further, just smiled at her, clearly envious of Jessica's healthy and smooth pregnancies.
Melissa, on the other hand, had caught the gist of the conversation and quietly asked Rachel if she would want kids right after getting married.
Rachel had just picked up a piece of watermelon but put it down after a moment of hesitation. She glanced towards the rubber trees and said, "I haven't thought that far ahead. I don't even know if I'll get married. Isn't being single just as good?"
Melissa nodded. "I think so too. While marriage might be necessary, I'm not too keen on having kids."
