Chapter 319 Why Are You Falsely Accusing Me?
Jessica didn't get a chance to ask Gabriel what was up until Imogen left with a scowl and the door clicked shut. She dashed to the bathroom and craned her neck to check her reflection.
The second she spotted the hickeys on her neck and collarbone, a wave of heat surged through her, almost setting her hair on fire.
She'd dressed in a hurry earlier, skipped the mirror, and completely forgot to cover the marks Gabriel had left the night before.
She'd actually faced Imogen like that.
"Gabriel!" Jessica stormed out of the bathroom, yanking at her collar. "You did this on purpose, didn't you?"
From bringing her back last night, letting her sleep in this morning, to just now—it all clicked.
She knew Gabriel was scarily smart and emotionally sharp, but she hadn't expected him to be this sneaky!
"Didn't you say Kimberly liked me? It's better for everyone if I make my stance clear early on."
Gabriel didn't deny it. In fact, he even smiled when he saw her storm out.
The hickeys on her neck were from him losing control last night, not part of his plan.
"What's the benefit? Mrs. Harriman was clearly pissed. I always had a hunch about Kimberly's feelings for you, and Imogen's behavior just confirmed it all. She's a daughter now, but she’s meant to be your wife. You already have a childhood sweetheart, so why mess with me?" Jessica fumed, stomping on his foot and glaring up at him.
Gabriel looked at her with her hands on her hips and head tilted up, then grabbed her waist and pressed his forehead against hers. "Do I need to explain again? I've only been to Y Country a few times and bumped into Kimberly less than five times, exchanging fewer than ten words with her.. We're not close. Whatever my parents plan, it doesn't matter to me. Grandpa Michael disapproves and will always be on our side. A childhood sweetheart? You're just jealous and making stuff up."
"Mrs. Harriman did find you a good wife to keep by your side. I'm not making things up. You clearly are...!"
Gabriel cut off her jealous rant with a kiss. Jessica felt like her clothes were about to be torn off again. She struggled, but he threw her onto the bed a few steps away.
"Gabriel, you jerk."
Jessica admitted she was jealous.
She wasn't really mad at Gabriel; she just wanted to throw a tantrum.
But before she could get a few words out, he had her pinned!
How was that fair?
She fought back with punches and kicks, but Gabriel locked her wrists and pinned her down, leaving her no room to struggle.
Looking up at him, in the daylight, with the sunlight streaming into the bedroom, Gabriel looked especially sexy as he got more passionate due to her resistance.
Jessica felt a bit embarrassed in broad daylight.
But soon, the spacious bedroom was filled with suppressed moans.
Jessica fumbled to get out of bed, but Gabriel didn't give her a chance, holding her and changing positions.
Jessica was genuinely jealous but only pretending to throw a tantrum. Gabriel, however, had no intention of letting her go.
After all, they'd been at it all night, and Jessica thought it would end quickly.
But Gabriel didn't even give her a chance to go out for lunch.
By the end, the bed sheets were a mess.
The floor-to-ceiling mirror and bathroom tiles bore the marks of her hands.
At noon, Sarah brought lunch over, didn't knock, and left it on the table in the hallway. She stood outside the door and said, "Mrs. Harriman and Miss Kimberly went shopping around eleven and won't be back for lunch. You don't need to come out either. The kitchen will prepare a lavish dinner, and I'll make more of Ms. Jenner's favorite dishes."
After that, Sarah left without lingering.
Jessica was carried back to bed, wrapped in a blanket, eyes closed in exhaustion, her hair still wet from the shower, sticking to her back.
Too lazy to dry it, she muttered, "Gabriel, you pervert, it's daytime."
She continued to mutter with her eyes closed and brows furrowed. "They didn't stay for lunch because they knew I wouldn't dare ignore them at noon, so they wanted to ignore me instead?"
She opened her eyes. "Luckily, you grew up with Grandpa Michael. If Mrs. Harriman had raised you, who knows how you'd turn out."
No wonder Gabriel had ignored her request to get dressed and go out earlier.
He clearly understood Imogen's temperament.
Jessica still wanted to know more about Kimberly.
Many women liked Gabriel, but she had seen how he rejected those women at his company last time.
Gabriel's attitude in the Harriman family was so clear. He was setting her position straight, so she wouldn't get jealous without reason.
Jessica lay motionless on the bed, looking resentfully at Gabriel, who had returned to the bed, fresh and clean, to lie with her for a while.
Yes, she was very clear about her position now.
Jessica was too exhausted to move. Having been indulged all morning, she lazily snuggled into Gabriel's arms, picked up her phone, and checked WhatsApp, then Facebook.
Seeing a message from her studio members saying the perfume endorsement contract had been sent over and was just waiting for their signature, Jessica recalled the fragmented memories from last night.
"When you picked me up from the Radiant Pearl Hotel last night, did everyone in the private room see you?" she asked, looking up.
Gabriel had just showered, like her, and was lying beside her. He looked down at her wet head resting on his chest and ran his hand over her hair. "Yes, they saw."
Jessica tapped her phone screen for a while, opened Cherry's Facebook, and saw Cherry's post from a few days ago announcing she had become Jessica's agent.
She looked at the comments below, then logged back into her main Facebook account and posted a scanned image of the termination statement she had prepared on her phone, along with a brief statement: [Starting today, my collaboration with Star Entertainment is terminated. The termination process will follow legal procedures. Feel free to supervise.]
