Jessica noticed that Elise had sent her a message about half an hour ago.
She decided not to reply and planned to talk to her in person when they met.
In the group chat, they had already picked a place to eat within that half hour. It was a barbecue joint right across from the hotel. The show's staff had checked it out earlier; it was spacious, with private rooms upstairs that could fit their group of over ten people.
Initially, everyone in the group chat was tagging her and Gabriel to see if they agreed, but since neither Jessica nor Gabriel responded, they assumed the two were asleep and made the decision for them.
A few minutes ago, Cindy had sent her a voice message asking if she was asleep and reminding her to come downstairs for dinner.
As Jessica walked into the elevator, she glanced at herself in the mirror.
Even though she hadn't done much physically, her hand was a bit tired.
Looking closely, her face was slightly flushed. It wasn't very noticeable, but Jessica, feeling a bit guilty, took out some powder and patted her face in the elevator.
Gabriel, with his hair now dry and having changed clothes, stood beside her looking satisfied. He watched Jessica apply the powder with a relaxed smile, making Jessica want to kick him out of frustration.
How could he be so irresistible?
At home, it was one thing, but seeing him act all aloof and restrained these past few days, she thought he had no interest after finding out she was pregnant.
Who would have thought that just a little teasing from her would...
Catching Jessica's glare, Gabriel chuckled softly. When the elevator reached the first floor, he took her still-aching hand and led her out.
Everyone was already waiting in the hotel lobby. Seeing them come out, Cindy quickly approached, "We tried to notify you in the group chat, but you didn't respond. Is barbecue okay?"
"Of course, that's fine with us," Jessica replied with a smile, but she poked Gabriel's palm with her finger in playful revenge.
Once Gabriel let go of her hand, she squeezed into the group of female guests. She immediately noticed Elise standing there, her eyes lighting up as she glanced over.
When Elise met Jessica's gaze, her eyes widened in surprise. She quickly nodded and smiled, "Hi, Ms. Jenner!"
Jessica couldn't help but laugh. She walked over to Elise, who seemed a bit incredulous and almost raised her hand to cover her mouth, but stopped herself, thinking it might be inappropriate. Instead, she awkwardly put her hands in her pockets to hide her excitement, her eyes never leaving Jessica as she smiled.
Standing next to her, Jessica gently nudged her arm with her elbow, "Are you getting along with everyone?"
Elise, surprised that Jessica would take the time to check on her, blinked and quickly responded, "Yes! Everyone's been great! It feels like a big family here! Your previous two episodes must have gone smoothly, right? I hope Hugo and I won't hold everyone back."
As she spoke, she lightly kicked Hugo beside her.
Catching her hint, Hugo turned and quickly smiled at Jessica, "Hi, Ms. Jenner!"
Just as Jessica was about to reply, Hugo playfully kicked Elise's leg in return and, with a mischievous grin, said to Jessica, "Elise has been thinking about you for a long time, Ms. Jenner. Be careful not to get too close, or she might camp outside your room all night!"
