Chapter 685 Sweet Extra of Couple Variety Show 170
Just as Jessica had predicted, the moment Danielle's video call ended and Gabriel took a few sips of the coffee Jessica had made, Landon's email arrived.
Gabriel lit up his iPad screen and began reading the document. Jessica picked up the remote to adjust the temperature in the study, then quietly left the room.
This was their usual routine at home. They could be as affectionate as they wanted, but when Gabriel was working, even though he wasn't as cold and distant as he was at the office, Jessica knew better than to disturb him.
Even Danielle knew not to bother Gabriel when he was working. Though every time Danielle sneaked into the study, Gabriel would scoop her up and sit her on his lap, working with his child in his arms.
Later that night, before going to bed, Jessica finally picked up her phone, finding some free time to catch up on the latest news and updates online.
There were still countless articles and posts about her, ranging from "The Bittersweet Life of Marrying into Wealth" to various other narratives spun by marketing accounts and social media writers. They were almost creating different versions of the popular "CEO romance" genre.
Of course, the style of these articles on major media platforms was similar to the heavy tone of the past, while on Twitter, they were more like romantic tales with endless twists.
Jessica hadn't had time to look at these for a while. She had been busy filming a show, and hadn't even kept up with the latest trending topics, only hearing bits and pieces from Amy and other guests.
Rachel's situation seemed to have concluded.
Jessica noticed Rachel had restricted comments on her Instagram. Her excessive behavior and greed, even her wild fantasies, had ultimately led to her downfall.
The next morning, before dawn, Jessica's alarm went off. She groggily turned over, reaching out but not finding Gabriel.
Jessica clung to the blanket, struggling for a moment before finally sitting up. She glanced towards the study, seeing the door closed.
She had fallen asleep around eleven last night, and now it was four in the morning. Could Gabriel have been working all night without sleep?
Realizing this, Jessica quickly got out of bed, slipped on her slippers, and hurried to the study. She was ready to confront Gabriel about his late-night work habits, but when she opened the door, he wasn't there.
Where could he be?
At this hour, he wasn't in the bedroom or the study?
Jessica pulled back the curtains to look outside. The sky was still gray. She yawned and was about to call Gabriel when a wave of nausea hit her. She rushed to the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before dry heaving.
After a few minutes, she had only managed to throw up some water.
She flushed the toilet and turned to wash her face. Just then, she heard the front door open. Gabriel's tall figure appeared, looking far from sleep-deprived.
Gabriel was holding a breakfast of an egg and ham sandwich with milk. Hearing the sounds from the bathroom, he turned to see Jessica hunched over the sink, looking disheveled from her bout of morning sickness.
