Chapter 440 Did We Forget Something?

Seraphina lazily sipped her water, not really paying him any attention. She just smiled and turned her gaze to little Danielle, who was seriously drawing, her eyes full of affection.

Michael thought Danielle would take a bit longer to finish her drawing, but to his surprise, within a few minutes, Danielle announced, "I'm done! Great-Grandpa!"

"Look at my great-granddaughter! Not only is she good at drawing, but she's also quick and decisive!" Michael turned to Fred, boasting happily.

Fred had just walked over to Danielle, ready to lift her off the chair to prevent her from falling. He glanced at Danielle's drawing and heard Michael's words, barely able to suppress his laughter.

Michael eagerly reached out to see the drawing and Danielle quickly handed it over. "Great-Grandpa, look! Do you like it?"

Michael took it with anticipation, expecting to see a handsome version of himself. But the moment he saw the drawing, his eyes widened. After staring at it for a long time, he looked at the proud little Danielle standing there, puzzled. "This is...?"

"It's you, Great-Grandpa!"

At this moment, Seraphina got up and took a look, bursting into laughter.

"Not bad, it does look like you."

Fred struggled to hold back his laughter.

After looking at it for a while, Michael lowered his head to Danielle. "Little Danielle, besides drawing, do you have any other hobbies?"

"Yes, Mommy taught me how to play checkers."

"Playing chess is very good. Great-Grandpa will teach you how to play chess later! What else can you do?"

"I can sing. Mommy's studio has a vocal coach who also teaches me piano. I've already passed level nine! I also won first place in a writing competition at kindergarten!"

"Excellent. Jessica, though busy, is a good mom. Playing piano, chess, calligraphy, and painting..." Michael suddenly paused. "Danielle, maybe we should give up on drawing."

Danielle tilted her head and asked, "Why?"

"Well..." Michael looked helplessly at Seraphina, who was laughing so hard she was almost falling over, and then at Fred, who was struggling to hold back his laughter.

It was clear he was asking if their little Danielle had any hope in drawing.

Fred glanced at the neatly written "Danielle" in the bottom right corner of the drawing. For a six-year-old, her handwriting was indeed beautiful, showing she had been well-trained.

As for the overly abstract drawing, it was probably because Jessica encouraged her imagination and didn't impose strict rules on her art.

Although, it was indeed too abstract.

Michael, feeling psychologically impacted by Danielle's drawing of him, needed comfort. He quickly asked Fred to bring a chessboard, insisting on playing a few games with Danielle.

Unexpectedly, despite her young age, Danielle was quite adept at checkers. Michael, used to playing chess, was unfamiliar with checkers. After several games, Danielle won most of them and Michael wasn't even going easy on her. Each time, Danielle would successfully evade Michael's moves and then giggle, "Great-Grandpa, you lost again!"

Seeing Michael's confidence take a nosedive as he kept losing to six-year-old Danielle, Seraphina couldn't stop laughing.

Michael lost another game, slapped his thigh, and vowed to win the next one. As he picked up the pieces, he shook his head, thinking that the drawing had messed with his judgment. He had underestimated Danielle. She seemed all cute and innocent, with drawing skills at a kindergarten level, but her little brain was pretty sharp. It was clear she had drawn that picture on purpose to mess with him.

After losing a few more games, Michael started to regret his moves, often picking up pieces he had just placed. "No, I shouldn't have put it there. Let me redo it."

Danielle calmly rested her chin on her hand and watched Michael regretting his moves. "Great-Grandpa, you're cheating!"

"Who's cheating? I'm not cheating! I'm old, I didn't see clearly just now!"

"Mommy says once a piece is placed, you can't take it back. Great-Grandpa, you're cheating."

"I'm not!"

"Great-Grandmother, come see! Great-Grandpa is taking back his moves again!"

"Don't call her. No, let's start over. I placed it wrong again. Oh, forget it, Danielle, maybe you should go back to drawing."

Meanwhile, Jessica was in the bathtub, scrolling through Instagram. Gabriel's post had gone viral in no time. She had only taken a bath and the situation had already turned around.

As expected of Gabriel, even a casual remark carried enough weight. Moreover, his words were never casual; every word was powerful.

People who didn't know the truth and were blindly involved had accurately guessed the relationship between Kimberly and Gabriel from Jessica's Instagram story. They figured Kimberly was either an adopted sister or had some other familial connection with the Harriman family. The unclear content made it easy to confuse people, but there was no evidence to prove her relationship with Gabriel. Many of the comments, as Gabriel said, seemed like "daydreams."

Kimberly couldn't escape the backlash. Jessica had thought Kimberly could keep her composure, but within ten minutes, Kimberly had cleared all her Instagram posts.

Hopefully, she was embarrassed by Gabriel's direct rebuttal and chose to stay silent and stop causing trouble.

Jessica followed Gabriel on Instagram, then placed her phone by the bathtub, closed her eyes, and comfortably leaned back, enjoying the long-lost warmth and tranquility.

As she leaned back, she accidentally fell asleep. Her head dipped into the water, and suddenly, she felt herself being lifted. Wrapped in a towel, she opened her eyes in confusion and saw Gabriel's shirt wet from her. She realized she had fallen asleep, and the water had almost turned cold, which explained why she felt chilly.

"Falling asleep in the bathtub without setting the temperature?" Gabriel carried her out of the bathroom and placed her on the bed.

Jessica shivered as she wrapped herself in the towel. "I didn't mean to fall asleep. I got caught up on Instagram and forgot to adjust the temperature."

Seeing her wrapped in a towel with her hair still wet, Gabriel calmly unbuttoned his shirt collar. "Really? Did you forget anything else?"
